According to my perspective the Triumph Speed 400 is really a practical Roadster/Standard/Naked motorcycle whatever you can call it, its certainly not a commuter or a cruiser, not an adventurer, not a cafe racer or a super with all the fairing but this has a class of its own that definitely stands apart from the rest. The most astonishing fact is how can a motorcycle such as this from a premium brand come at such an affordable price such as 2.33 L ex-showroom having such an engineering and craftsmanship, attention to detail where the quality is not compromised and the fit and finish is just superb. I personally think and feel the Bajaj has done an incredible job in both manufacturing the bike and making it available in the Indian market. I've seen a lot of reviews/videos since the launch this review not only seemed practical but also very detailed. Go Motoroids ❤🎉

After checking out all mileage test videos, im concerned about it before buying. The least which i noticed was 20 kmph and highest was claimed 42 kmph only by one rider. 20-25 kmph was mentioned by many . Then 28-33kmph by some. So confusing.

Triumph's Modern classic range which have models like speed twin 900/1200 are essentially high torque engine bikes , torque delivered at relatively low rpms, in that sense, although speed 400 have a BODY of triumph modern classics but not the SOUL, what's your thought on that?

  • @motoroids

It's got ample torque. Very tractable. It's a smaller engine, so not as torquey as the big ones. But a fabulous blend of low end torque and nid range sportiness

@@motoroidsyes I agree with you on that, it's just lineage perspective, they could have made stroke little bit longer, 80ish ,like speed 900/1200, so engine can be torque dominating rather than power dominating (torque to power ratio is less than 1 unlike other ones) , but may be this was due to cost control, because Bajaj already have a specific bore available, and they designed stroke according to it rather than going another way , which I feel could have been more genuine approach to triumph modern classic lineage.

True that the Tac could be more recognizable, but who really rides their bike according to the Tac readout instead of the sound or feel of the bike...nit picking. Vibrations...everybody, it's higher reving, higher HP, shorter stroke single cylinder THUMPER. Go buy yourself an anemic 20 HP Royal Enfield 350 if you want to putter around with a little less vibrating thumper.

@@motoroids I bought my Duke 390 in June 2019. I have maintained my motorcycle extremely well and on 13th of January 2023 while I was riding my motorcycle to my office I just heard a loud bang and the counter balancer came out of the assembly due to the mechanical failure. It broke the engine case and came out completely. It was a catastrophic failure and I was lucky to escape unscathed. It was under an extended warranty till June 2023. There was some delay in arranging the parts and the warranty period got over. Now service centre is not able to claim the warranty. Now I have to shell out from own pocket to fix the motorcycle. This may sound simple but it’s a simple breach of trust of the customer. I was planning to buy the 2023 street triple but Bajaj taking over triumph operations in India is just scary and it hard for me to go for it. Fact of the matter is I am big fan of KTM motorcycles but this would be my last KTM. If you’re picking a Bajaj made motorcycle just be careful.
