2024 Triumph Speed 400 plays with the BIG BIKES
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Thanks to Triumph Motorcycles Germany, I've got the opportunity to ride the 2024 Triumph Speed 400 for a whole week! I've brought it with me to my Corsica tour; can a little 400 lead a group of experienced riders on big bikes? Is the tiny Triumph still fun after a week of riding mountain twisties? There's only one way to find out!

Just goes to prove the old adage that it's not about what you ride, it's about how you ride it. That was sublime and probably the best video I've seen yet for reasons to buy a Speed 400.

I live in Corsica and i ride a Speed 400. After a few bigs bikes i found my 18 birthday 40 years later with this little Triumph!

It's such a great bike, and in Corsica it's even better. Can't wait for my next visit!
More fun going quick on a slow bike, than slow on a quick bike. My little Fantic 500 is exactly the same and the 19” wheel allows me to tackle some byways as long as they aren’t too technical. These little singles are pure fun on any tight, twisty road. I have the Tuono 660 for longer rides where there’s some motorway, it’s fantastic fun, but I’d rather be on the Fantic 80% of the time.

Absolutely agree with you with your first sentence
Corsica is so beautiful and quiet in the mountains, this makes me wish I were there !
Wow! I'd need to ride that mountain road at least twice. The first time to take in the views and the 2nd to pay attention to and enjoy the road. The 400 reminds me a lot of my Svartpilen 401. It's great fun and sounds fantastic blatting from corner to corner on twisty back roads. Corsica looks bloody beautiful! Thanks Dale 👍🏻

Absolutely. I could ride these roads all day. We are here until Saturday, so lots of opportunities to ride all these roads twice!
Beautiful motorcycle, hope it sells well for Triumph.
What an incredible video...fan-friggin'-tastic! New subscriber now. Cany wait to see part two and to catch up on other videos. Greetings from Utah, USA.
I agree with you the 33buprestriction wasn’t enough. My old cb500s in the 70s/80s were approx 50 bhp. The were ridden at some speeds when the roads were delightfully empty. My cb750 only had 70bhp and I thought that was the fastest road bike on the planet until the z900😂. My v strom650 70bhp is all the bike I need on the road. Corsica and Sicily are gorgeous imo. I hope triumph steal some glory from the hype of non stop RE vlogs. As a lanky 6’1” I find these small bikes to cramped for my stiff ageing body but love the smaller capacity thrash and lightness. Only found your channel recently, absolutely superb.
Great video sir 👍 I love watching your riding - fast, controlled, good use of the whole road and safe 😃

Thanks ✌️I actually made a huge and dangerous mistake, where I cut the corner on a left curve. I thought I had 'cleared' it, but actually I had not. Could have been deadly if a car was coming in that moment. I left it in the final cut because it's a good talking point and mistakes are there to be learned from

Excellent on-board. Good bike choice. Corsica is on my to-do list.

Thanks very much! Corsica is really incredible. At this time of the year, there's virtually no traffic in the mountains, and the snow is mostly gone. And thanks for the sub!
Nice to see you keep up with a 900 on a 400. I'm hoping to get the speed 400, looks awesome. I currently ride a BV 400 and my buddy is on a Bonnie. We do a few long trips a year, except I'm always leading. 😎

It's definitely easier on the downhill sections tho! ;)
I like your style! This bike is perfect for wanting a spirited pace. I like that because you can still take in the nice views but not go so fast you lose out on the visuals.

Back in the day I had a little Bandit 400. 60 brake, twin discs, grey import and I thought that it was all the bike you'd ever need for the road. Sold it to get my VFR750 but returned to the grey market a few years later for the NC30 and I thought again; this is all the bike you need. Fast forward nearly 30yrs and every bugger and their dog is introducing 400's now...

I really love the new generation of 48hp bikes. I was in the generation of 33hp restrictions for my first 2 years, and it wasn't enough. Most people I know derestricted them in the first few days. Now we have a whole generation who will enjoy bikes engineered to perform with this adequate, but not exotic, level of performance. It's a great trend

My first bike was a Bandit 400! It felt fast enough to a 21 year old. Revved to nearly 13,000rpm. Definitely looking at sub-500cc again for a commuter/back lane bike. I was in Corsica last summer - the roads are great and they look so quiet compared to peak season when they're littered with camper vans which are hard to overtake on the narrow mountain sections.
I feel like you would ride it more relaxed without peer pressure
@btgmoto

Probably, but it wouldn't be so much fun!
Great video! Just wondering the rear being a 60 profile tire, I’m assuming it would be difficult to get rid of the chicken strips? Haha
As a town-and-eifel bike, this is a great choice. Incredible value. Can you fully disable ABS and TC?

@btgmoto Wow, that scenery is amazing! What do you think of the Speed 400, having spent some more time on it? I'm strongly considering it as a first motorcycle, but I'm also tempted by all the technology features of the 2024 Svartpilen 401 (I've test ridden last year's model, but not the new one).
@btgmoto
24 күн бұрын
Feature-wise, the Husq is superior for sure. But the feel of the Triumph, and the style, might be enough. I don't wanna commit til I've ridden a Svart for 2000kms too
Oh, and you’re up shifting clutchless. Not bad for the gear box?
I think I've decided I'll watch you ride the awesome roads as opposed to learning(actually getting licenced) to ride and coming along. Let me know if you need a van driver though 😝
I had to pause watching your video in order to post my question - what is that cable on the right side of the motorcycle?
@btgmoto
2 ай бұрын
It's a power cable that I forgot to plug in to the phone
Aren't the lines on the road meant to separate your side from the other side?
That day was epic👌🏻

@@btgmoto is it an Akra exhaust? By looking on your video, it looks stock exhaust. Sounds different vs stock

Sorry it was 1400-1500, the peak on the map was over 2000, which is what I'd seen on the map earlier
Looks rubbish Dale and all that traffic must have been a big disappointment
If you could actually ride, you wouldn't need to cut across the centre line & stick to your lane. Go back to the highway till you get some skills
