Hooray! - now it just needs some gentle exercise, a little chip-shop run - Bridge of Allan, near Stirling is recommended! Failing that, swing over to Oban or even Whitby, & watch your fish-supper flapping it's last in the batter trays of doom. Either way, both of you, 'get-down-on-it' & put thy knees in the breeze - the summer of 2073 will be over all too soon! : )xx

Sounds like fun mate, and fish & chips in Whitby, the world's best! Have a great weekend, keep safe, D&Px
That was a joy to watch. Got my XJR in pieces at the moment for tyres, brake pads, chain & sprockets, swingarm grease, oil and filters. As a newish rider these videos have been a great help and inspiration when it comes to diy spannering. Cheers.

Hi Del. Those wheels and tyres look amazing! Noticed on your last shot of the bike you had a bit of wood to prop it up. My scrambler is the exact same, seems to lean over a lot. Would be nice to see you fabricate something to correct this and I could copy 👍
Nice job Del. Penny your bike is looking very cool, Mr & Mrs Scrambler LOL. Hope all is well for you both and not too wet and cold over there, 32C here today. Have a great and relaxing weekend, take care. Cheers .

Wow, very nice, we can only dream of temperatures like that, it's not even that warm inside the house! But hey, the Spring is round the corner and there's no salt on the roads at the moment... just lots of flooding lol Enjoy that sunshine!
Job done. Glorious bike. Hope the season starts soon. Have a great weekend, Günter/Nürnberg

Excellent work as usual Del. I am sure it has been asked many times but do you use the same multi purpose grease for your fork shaft/axle and do you lubricate your wheel bearings as well? Thanks for everything you have made owning and maintaining scramblers and your other bikes simple and easy to DIY!!!

Hi mate, yes for general purpose just use an ordinary LM grease, it does the job and I change it often enough to never need anything more special or specific. Glad you enjoy the videos, thank you for your kind words.
Love the looks of those tires !! Tubes?? Been a while I changed those!! Now gotta work on my 1986 Honda shadow 700.. needs new tires.. just got new manual tire changer from Poland. Anxious to use it. Have super weekend!!

Overall, I like what you’ve done with it. Only thing I would have done different. Add a floater front rotor. I have an 06 and the floater and a set of EBC HH pads made huge difference in stopping power. Left side rotor from a Honda F3 is a perfect match btw. Mine is a EBC for said F3.

Great bike, nice work Del!
Better than new! Awesome machine, great work. 👌
I can only echo what the other folk have been saying- what a beauty! No offense to the younger crowd, but angry insect squashed trapezoidal headlights and pointy plastic shrouds just scream trendy fashion-victim and gimmickry, compared to something like this with truly timeless and classy looks.

Thank you most kindly for your generous words of praise Sir... have to agree, the transformer headlights are a little ultra modern for this ol' bloke and fashion fades, but style remains. Glad you enjoyed this series, it's been fun!
Glad to see you back and working on triumph motorcycles.
Great to see, better letting them doing it without scratches, I know you always balance your own wheels, keeps the cost down, could you have gone down the tubeless option or not. Great video

If i'm not mistaken (from experience and recognizing the tread design), almost anything will be an upgrade from those Continentals. Had them at the recommendation of a mechanic 4 years ago. Wasn't a fan in the least. I think the new ones will be much preferred.

Yeah sure, the Mutants have been fabulous on the Hayabusa, totally sure footed in any weather and great looking tread which on a bike with a little style is always an asset!

Always good to watch a real pro do basic jobs. No matter how many times you've done it already there is always something new to learn. Thank you Del for doing the wrenching and thank you Penny for the great views. You two are an amazing team ! Great job Del if only I had done this when I brought my bike and then I wouldn't have had the disembarkation. Would have been nice to see you apply that sealant to the inside of the rims to seal the spoke nipples' as you did with a previous build. All the very best Del and Penny!
Delboy, I saw you wipe off those wheels and tires and it reminds me to ask you a question. I have HD lower fairings. and there is a rubberized surface on the door area of the hard lowers. And it has a whitish residue. Any tips on how to make it just normal rubber color? These are directly from HD and less than 6 months old.,
@Moonfleet41
Жыл бұрын
Hi buddy, the best thing to dress rubber is silicone, you can buy the nice smelling dashboard shine type spray silicone, or even products like GT85, they will leave the rubber with a deep rich shiney appearance and the coating will help the rain water to just roll off, so preserving as well!
When you had the first wheel on your balancing machine every time you let go you looked like you were doing a crocodile impression 😂 Made me smile 😁
what size tyres and were they original rims…..great work by the way 🎉
@Moonfleet41

They're 120 and 180, sportsbike tyres, 5" wide rim rear and 3.5" front, 17's!
Hello, I watch a lot of your videos and I learn a lot about the maintenance of my motorcycle I want to ask Up to what size of wide tires can I use without modifying my Triumph scrambler 2008 efi
@Moonfleet41
10 ай бұрын
hi there, thank you for your support.. You must use only the correct size tyres on the factory wheel rims, no wider... BUT, if you fit a 5" wide back wheel rim, then you could fit up to a 180x17 tyre, and a 120x17 tyre on the front, but it MUST be fitted onto a 3.5 inch front wheel rim.! NOT on the factory wheel..! I hope that helps.
Great job, now Penny’s ready to roll. I bet you can’t wait 😀

Nice bike. Triumph really finishes its bikes like a Swiss watch. But you didn't do the front wheel alignment procedure that you explained very well in one of your earlier videos. I always do it on my Sportster and it's really a good trick.
@Moonfleet41
Жыл бұрын
Once the forks are clamped in the yokes, they'll stay in alignment unless they get a knock, you don't need to do the alignment for just taking the wheel out, only if you take the forks themsleves out, and even then, they'll self align if you clamp them up from the top downwards,
