Thank you for all the videos. I bought a 2022 1200XE a couple months ago and your info has been invaluable , not only modifying and maintaining my bike, but also which one to buy in the first place. Your video on the ride in Scotland got me all fired up to do moto camping, so I have been setting up the Scrambler and my KTM 500 to do some trips. The day I bought my Scrambler, I played your video on operating the instrument cluster while I pushed buttons...a great help there for sure. Anyway, thanks Jim

Great video. Just a little warning for European riders who have a bike in warranty: I always do my own servicing when the bike is out of warranty, but here in Europe if we do our own servicing, manufacturers can and most likely will null and void warranty unless its serviced by a main dealer, in this case Triumph. In the US you can do your own servicing and you can take the manufacturer to court if they fail to repair as long as you have used genuine parts and its been serviced in accordance with manufacturers recommendations. My bike its too valuable to bin the warranty at its early stage in life. It only takes an ecu or the screen to fail and its going to be big money, but once its out of warranty I will be doing it myself, having watched your videos first of course! I have a Triumph Scrambler 1200 and absolutely love it! Keep up the great channel:)

Great point - it also depends on the dealer too. In Australia you can get a non dealer workshop to do it, but they still check if its been serviced at intervals etc.

Nice, helpful and informative video as always. Thanks ! I will just add another bright side of doing the maintenance ourselves. Sometime, when we receive the maintenance bill of the retailer, we can have a reaction like: What ! they needed an hour to do that ? When we do some maintenance ourselves, we develop a better understanding of the difficulty of some tasks. The components of our bikes are by definition packed together to save space and you notice very quickly that your fingers are much to big to reach this small screw, or just to reach this screw, you must first dismount 3 different components, not to mention that damn nut that you just dropped somewhere in the frame and is nowhere to be found. Retailer mechanics are naturally professionals and work much faster than us (at least me) but the difficulty to work on motorbikes still apply. Best regards

I bought a hydraulic workbench a couple of years ago and it has been a game changer. Not cheap, and it takes up a lot of room, but it is so nice being able to do oil changes without rolling on the cold concrete workshop floor.

Looking forward to the video on valve clearances. Just paid £490 for 10k service, quoted 8 to 9 hundred for the 20k if valves don't need adjusted up to £1100 if they are out. Ouch.

Coming soon! I'm doing some work on my KTM at the moment, including valve clearances. I'll be videoing that. The Scrambler doesn't need valves checking until 20K, but with all these long dark winter nights coming up, pulling the Scrambler apart will stop me going insane, so I might as well take a look.

Hi, and thanks for great videos😀 How do you change the brake fluid on these bikes with an abs? I see you can bleed the ABS with TuneEcu, but how..

  • @SongsFromTheSaddle

The issue with changing brake fluid with an ABS system is purging the ABS unit. TuneECU allows you to operate the ABS unit to pump out the old fluid and/or any air in the system.
