Triumph Scrambler 1200 Brake Service & Changing Brake Pads
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
I am fitting new brake pads to my Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE.
The pads I as fitting are EBC HH Sintered, which I have found to give excellent performance on my other bikes.
In this video I show how to remove and clean the callipers and fit the new pads.
The brake pad part numbers are (to fit the Scrambler 1200 XE):
Front: FA447HH
Rear: FA209/2HH

thanks great video.
Great tutorial video mate. Would you be able to make a video changing the brake fluid? Having a system with ABS on my StreetTwin, I'm not sure of the procedure. Thank you making this video 👍

Hello Phill. Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I will be making more videos of working on the Scrambler, but only when I need to do the work. Over time I'm sure I'll be posting videos of most aspects of maintenance as the jobs come up.
Thank you for this video, informative and entertaining, I was hooked from start to finish! Any plans to show the rear brake procedure, seems more complicated. Cheers from Portugal!

Thanks Jose. I'll probably change the rear pads this next winter.
Great video! My scrambler front brake lever is spongy and doesn't actually brake (I only have rear brakes basically at the moment) any tips on getting it back to normal? I noticed there seems to be a top bleeder and a bottom bleeder (on the tire), anyway I could utilize that top bleeder?

It might be worth changing the brake fluid. No doubt I will make a video on this soon (I have made a video on servicing the brakes on my Triumph Boneville T140)
Thanks very useful, now the rear pads can they be replaced without removing the caliper? Also noticed that the so called stainless spokes are corroding as are mine.. Bummer

Yes you can replace the rear pads without removing the calliper as they are retained with a pin. I have some new rear pads on order. When they arrive I'll make a video of the fitting.
Love this and given me confidence to diy, is the rear brake same procedure, discs and torque settings thanks.

The rear brake is not the same. The calliper is entirely different. The pads are retailed with a pin and the torque settings are lower. I'll probably change the rear pads soon, so I'll do a similar video of that procedure when I do.

Great video! How are your EBC pads going?! Any difference from the original Brembo Pads?

I've been very happy with the performance of the EBC pads. I run them in several of my bikes, including my Harley-Davidson and my Triumph Bonneville T140. In all cases the braking performance has been substantially improved. I do not use them on my KTM, as I use pads with a compound more suitable for off-road use.
Thanks for the video. Do you not recommend putting some grease on the back of the brake pads when re-installing them?

Do I need to remove the rear tire to service the rear brakes? Thanks in advance. Your videos are really a great help for me. - Nelson from Montana USA

It depends on what you want to do to it. I will make and share a video of a rear brake service in a couple of week's time.
