What an incredibly powerful performance. That is what I call country music in its finest form. Garth plays exceptional guitar accompaniment as well. Fantastic harmonies.

Trisha was the reason I started listening to country music.I have been fortunate enough to see her live 3 times and she never lets me down.Walk away Joe,to me,is one of her best,and with Garth?Thats icing on the cake right!?I havent seen this video until today but lucky me!So awesome!!

Trisha’s voice is magnificent one of the best Ive ever heard- Powerful, soulful, angelic & her delivery is precision personified. I like Garth but the original recording with Don Henley is one of the most beautiful duets ever recorded- those 2 voices are absolute perfection!

Match made in Heaven, and they are still going strong in 2023..

Have you heard her perform it live with Don Henley? There's a video here. I can't remember for sure, but there might've been one part where he forgot the harmony. If so, that was the only problem. I'm not sure how old it is, though. It might've been pretty recent when she got inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame. I think there is an older one than that, but I can't remember any key words to type in and guarantee that you'll find it. Go for the ACL Hall of Fame one.

I agree 👍 I think Garth had hidden feelings for Trisha even back then, whether or not he acted on them. Garth's first wife was pretty fierce though, so he probably kept his hands to himself

Garth said the moment their eyes clapped on each other they knew there was this strange connection between them. Like they found their soulmate. They're already married then but constantly working each other and enjoying each others company. They're destined to be with each other.

From when I was 13/14 ❤❤❤❤❤❤ I watched this..... all I seen was LOVE in his eyes ❤ one of the most beautiful/amazing relationships...... they are 1 of ONLY 2 famous couples I feel I (ME) can say is GENUINE/REAL/LOVING couples.....other Tim and Faith (cuz I had that for 10 years before he passed at age 38, I was 10 years younger ..w.... 3 babies age 7f, 6f, and almost 5m) and we LOOKED at each other EXACTLY like that........ Yeah, Don Henley has a higher, maybe better, voice, but... Garth still does a great job on the harmonies. And when she sings and she looks at Garth with a look that she will never give any other man, the sweetness and light that comes out of their voices is unmatchable. There is something overwhelmingly beautiful about a couple singing to each other like this.

Garth isn't Don Henley, but he made due with what he had. Good job, sir.

I saw them sing this on the tonight show with Jay Leno, they were both still married to their others...but on that show that night I turned to my husband, and said..somethings going on with those two...and they both we divorced shortly after..

Nonsense. They're both married that year. They are friends since the late 80s. It wasn't until early 2000s when their marriages failed and connected to each other romantically. As a matter of fact, it was Sandy, Garth's ex-wife suggests to marry Trisha and Garth's daughters approved it.
