In the future, I highly recommend sitting on a left-side window seat as opposed to the right when arriving at EWR. If you're arriving on 22L, you will get a great shot of New York City/Jersey City. Via 4R, you can get a shot of New Brunswick and Rutgers University.

The right side of the plane is nice as well on runway 22L because you see downtown Newark and Red Bull Arena on the landing approach

The rain in Spain falls mostly on the plane

Nice that they have a good selection on the IFE. However when I fly I look for seat comfort, meal service and the reputation or experience I have had with that airline's Flight Attendants. That pretty much puts United and all other US flagged airlines at the bottom of my list. I have had over the years, horrendous cabin service on United especially. I honestly believe that being a former correctional officer is a prerequisite for being a United FA! Give me any Asian airline always for exceptional cabin service and fantastic meals even in Economy Class! Thanks for your comprehensive review. As always, take care and Happy Travels!

If you are go to EWR, you should try to go to New Brunswick or Princeton... both accessible by public transit. There is so much more to NJ than just being in between NYC and Philadelphia!

4:52 I definitely agree on the IFE. I flew IAH to NRT on United back in March and the IFE selection was awesome. Flew ANA from NRT IAD on the way back and their IFE selection was extremely sparse. Was thoroughly disappointed.

Great take off vision despite the rain ! No Pretzels...typical United cost cutting ! Views of the wings on the aircraft are brilliant ! Have flown United internationally over the years and mostly in Business Class and have found them "ok". They just seem to miss what the Asian carriers do when it comes to food and service . Nice review and well done!!

To me those are very redundant. When I was on my first trip to the US, I got SSSS printed on my boarding pass as well. The secondary security screening is just searching through your bag, a small metal scan ur body and your bag, and some passengers go through body search.

i was yesterday on a united 787-9 flight from SFO to AMS and is was a great flight with exellent legroom and food. and most suprisingly, the crew was very nice.(btw you said that the pack of pretzels is no more but i can confim that is it still served. at least on my flight xd)

Another great report. Too many vloggers ignore Economy Class, you're forging a new path! I was a bit in and out of this but I didn't see any beer, wine or spirits. Did I miss something or is this another reason to avoid United on international flights? Even the tiny pack of four micro pretzels is gone! Nickel-and-diming can only go so far before more customers fly east to go west! And so they should.

You didn't show us the legroom, so Il assume it was Economy Standard, and I'll also assume they gave you earbuds. The IFE and the food looked pretty good, and you had all the outlets you needed. I'm glad that United did a good job on this flight - even if they did leave out the pretzels.

Great video, beautiful airplane, but damn, those meal offerings were stingy. I watched a trip report of economy on Ethiopian Airlines and they did two full hot meal services on a seven hour flight.

Dejan Jordan That’s what happens when air travel is viewed as utilitarian. Yes, it is viewed as such, thanks to the bad combination of long distances and underwhelming amounts of paid vacation. The former is something that won’t change. The latter could change, if companies realized that they don’t need all their employees to be at work for 8 hours a day, 5-6 days a week.

Can you make trip report Citilink Jakarta to Bali flight QG 666?

It does seem like their meal service is worse now than a year ago when I flew with them. Although that was from LHR-SFO, so the food would be more substantial. However the IFE was better on this flight, obviously the plane we flew on was a Boeing 777, not the 787-10.

This coming Monday I’m traveling using Emirates passing through Dubai to london

I think the reason why the IFE screen wasn’t working on your United’s 787-10 transcontinental flight is because the airplane back then was brand new and everything wasn’t set up yet on the IFE!

What is the nearest and most convenient airport if you are going to Time Square / Manhattan ? Newark or JFK ?

I love economy for the food. Any meal they serve i will eat. Im not personally a huge business class fan when it comes to their food. I just prefer economy meals
