You can really tell that the mtgo drafters are not at the level of the discord server drafters. The discord drafters never allow LSV to open this much power

I was thinking something along the lines of how unfortunate that he didn’t get to stomp on all the great players with this deck

LSV would be such a good teacher. The constant articulation behind thought processes and evaluation weather or not he made the right choices/plays is such a helpful tool.

Absolutely, even with my ADHD I can follow him so well and the constant but concise articulation makes it easy for me to follow and stay engaged. He's one of few content creators I can actually engage with for lengthy periods of time.

I learned how to be a college professor from watching LSV

It's always nice to see Gavin's cube get some sunshine on MTGO, but it's surprising how much the quality of gameplay drops without various Pro Tour and World Champion players across the table. This deck likely would have crushed a custom lobby too, just heightens my appreciation for the awesome level of competition in the other videos.

Right? It gets easy to be accustomed to the Discord server drafts as just normal gameplay until you see these and realize just how strong the competition is in those team drafts.

I drafted this cube yesterday, and it honestly felt like the other drafters were auto-picking. The wheels made no sense, and I got a 3rd pick Time Walk in pack three. Baffling... Is WotC using bots?

This deck was so busted, and one of the best parts about the thumbnail is that you had no idea what kind of deck it was going to be, just that it was going to have Lotus and double Mox.

4 Power 9 pieces, LED, Mana Drain, Atroxa, Emrakul... sprinkle in a few infinite combos and call it a day.

This was absolutely amazing. Rival's LSV's 18 turn 3--0 speed run from a few months back.

This has to be a record for most accessible infinite combos in an LSV deck

Just wanted to say that I love the way you do your videos. I have them on in the background while I am at work and I can completely follow along with what's going on because of how well you describe each scenario. Also, this deck was insanely sweet. Keep up the great work!

I actually think it is a precise statement about the inference that luis can typically make based on the information available. The way I understand it is as follows: there are almost no drafts where he would rule out the candelabra wheeling. Often, if you saw some cards being picked early and not wheeling, you can bet that some other card you are seeing now will not wheel either, because the same player will very likely take it. There are conditions under which the second card never wheels. Otoh, the way I understand it, even when Luis suspects that someone is playing artefact or another candelabra adjacent archetype at the table, he still regularly sees the candelabra wheeling, probably because other drafters don’t value the card highly even in the archetypes where it’s good.

@@Gudnarr I feel that in part, it's because LSV never passes Tolarian Academy, the single best card with Candelabra. That makes Candelabra more likely to wheel for LSV than for other drafters that value TA slightly lower (perhaps incorrectly!)

Time Twister (and its progeny) making the case to be the goat. Last night on the Alpha Frog cube I won a game 3 because I went turn 1 Currency Converter, crack LED, cast Echo of Eons, and left my opponent landless while I kept churning out 2/2s from the converter.

Wow, what a beautiful and well managed deck... and the 12 or so combos it had, with the resources to actually make those combos have some teeth behind them, along with the well navigated and full of enjoyment to do so LSV!

Black lotus is usually a little underwhelming (relative to its hype) when I see it in drafts. This is definitely the most I’ve ever seen it do very cool

I have watched every vintage cube draft you have uploaded... this is my favorite in terms of fun (even though we didn't pick academy)

At 48:20 I'm surprised LSV didn't go for it. Play Lotus, sac for GGG. Regrow Lotus, play Lotus, sac for WWW. Play Salvagers paying WUUG. Salvagers back the Lotus using the remaining WW, get infinite mana, play Jar, Twister, etc. The opponent _did_ have 5 mana including both U and B available, so maybe that play is risky, and he was able to hold up Drain and Remand _(in an emergency since he'd have to sac Lotus for it, but it was technically available)_ so maybe that's better, but after he talked about the Regrow Lotus play I thought he'd go for it.

As a Tupperware fan, I am simply here to say triples is best. Love the videos LSV!

48:17 you also had infinite mana if you wanted. Lotus for green, regrowth lotus, lotus for white, play salvager wwgu, you have lotus in the yard with wu open to activate salvagers. But I guess there is an arguement for giving your opponent one more turn in favor of having countermagic up yourself.

I think it's crazy that LSV won a pro tour with elves and he just hates the green decks. Like, he was excited to be able to take NO out of this deck.

How convenient that this absolutely busted deck didn’t run into a single counterspell, just the weird Reprieve play off Lotus Petal. Counters were the only chance against this monstrous deck.

I swear every time I have a deck with multiple pieces of power the rest of the deck ends up being a disheveled mess. I can never get the sol ring/lotus/moxen in a good deck lol

I pretty much only get wins when I draft power with red white or orzhov aggro. all of the busted strategies I lose to that I attempt to draft most of the time I end up 0-3 with or without power.
