I visited Pitcairn on a Royal Navy aircraft carrier , HMS Warrior in 1957. The ship laid off the island for a few hours and many of the islanders were brought on board. Kids were given a party etc. Unfortunately I was unable to go ashore, due to duties onboard. I did barter some navy mosquito netting for a few souvenirs which I still have.

Florin Florian Hi there. I heard a story while there of someone attempting to fly but I don't believe they managed to do it. Would be a great place to fly however there isn't much room to land at the bottom. Thanks for watching!

When visiting you can either rent a house or stay with one of the islanders. Many of them have space for tourists and are very accommodating :)

There hasnt been a serious drought for about 7 years now. But in emergencies they have a desalination unit that they can get fresh water from. They haven't had to use that yet

Pitiful in comparison to Bora & Bora or other islands in French Polynesia. Absolutely no sheltered coast there while most in French Polynesia are enclosed by lagoons.
