Trigger safety for your Sig P365 - Tyrant CNC IntelliFire Safety

Ойын-сауық

Just a heads up for people looking for a trigger blade safety for the P365 - this is now a viable option to add a level of safety to the P365.
Parts for the video were provided by Tyrant CNC - no money changed hands I don't get anything other than those parts - purely interested in putting it out there for people who want to add a level of safety to their gun

    I saw a comparison video on that vs MCarbo and another option... The MCarbo was a lighter pull than the rest of the options which is what I currently have. Prior to watching the comparison video, I was highly considering switching to Tyrant. Not sure if that's how all of them are, would be nice to see this test performed more for a confirmation. It's very unlikely that a trigger shoe would cause any malfunctions. Most malfunctions from trigger jobs are due to people installing very light springs to reduce the pull weight. Modifying your carry gun is fine, you just have to make sure that it will run reliably afterwards.

    I prefer a manual thumb safety. Some Sigs come with manual safeties. Most dealers do not carry them. But they are available. Sig recently came out with a P226 single action only with thumb safeties. You carry it cocked and locked like a 1911. Most S&W models are available with a manual thumb safety. Too bad the new Springfield Echelon is not available with a thumb safety. Thumb safeties are just as fast to deploy if you practice. The Colt 1911s and copies have thumb safeties since 1911!!

  • @chadillac95

    @chadillac95

    The reason most dealers don't carry them is because the internal safeties are plenty good enough and people who carry daily have realized that a manual safety isn't fast and it's another step that can be forgotten

    If you do not want a manual safety that's fine. Make sure your Sig is not one of the fires when dropped models. As for speed and forgetting to disengage the safety I very strongly disagree. Using a Thumb safety like any other firearm requires practice. If someone is too lazy to practice they should probably get a Glock or a revolver. The Glock trigger has been proven to work. I prefer using pistols that have the same manual of arms as the Colt 1911A1 that I was issued in 1980 in the US Coast Guard. I will not carry guns like the Beretta M-9 as their Safeties are backwards to the Colt. Perhaps you do not have LEO training. Every time an officer interacts with a civilian there's always a gun present. (the officer's) So firearms retention training and a proper level 3 holster are Paramount. I also know an officer that was shot point blank with a single shot 12 Guage and was knocked out/Down. The Gas station video shows the perp having difficulty removing the officer's Beretta 92FS that had its safety engaged After the perp had the Beretta he was unable to fire at the officer's head. He kept racking the slide. But didn't know how to disengage the safety. Luckily backup arrived before it was too late Massad Ayoob has many examples of officer's being saved or given extra time to disarm the perp.

    Serious question: has the trigger safety on Glocks ever been shown to add safety? You can find plenty of videos of NDs while reholstering Glocks. Also, the dingus is usually wider than the sides of the trigger, so it’s hard to imagine a situation where something hits the side of the trigger but not the dingus….

    The trigger safety is an inertial safety. It keeps the trigger from moving if the frame is struck. It’s a simple solution to the drop safety issue. The more complex inertial safety in the sig pistols is probably directly responsible for the instances of the gun going off. At least the legitimate ones and not the “carries in purse/pocket without holster” incidents.

  • @atomicsmith

    @atomicsmith

    3 ай бұрын

    Note: The trigger bar in Sig pistols move forward instead of backward like in a glock. The trigger safety was added to Glocks so that the weight of the trigger bar and trigger couldn’t release the striker when dropped. That’s obviously not needed in a sig. Before the “320 is not drop safe!!!!” group chimes in, the 320 was found to release the striker when struck with a hammer at a very specific angle and strength. It was never replicated in a true drop test, and there are no instances (that I’ve found reported) of a 320 going off when dropped. Don’t confuse that with the holster discharges that seem to have only happened in level 3 retention holsters (most or all were not designed for the 320. …and no, I don’t own a 320, I’ve just followed the story closely because I find it interesting from a technical point of view.
