Honestly if you ask me to watch all his movies back to back... I will be all in!!! The the variety the talent and the artistry did this man can give out is mind-boggling you should really watch his movies!!!!

Don’t decide on one film of his. I am sure 2-3 to get the depth of him... may be more 61 years !!! Of work ...from childhood he has inspired me through many of his work... comedy to very hard hitting films I only recently watched his most recommended films ANBE SIVAM and HEY RAM both great but I go with HEY RAM !!! because u get great taste of what he means to Indian Cinema it cannot be remade

He did not imitate marlon brando at all, he bought his own style to the movie also u can argue kamal hassan took one step higher and acted variety of ages. Other than Mohanlal performance in Iruvar, this is easily the best acted film in indian history.

Americans have an aversion to anything dealing with communism, so you might need a heads up. Anbe Sivam deals with a whole lot of communism based messaging. If you hate communism, better watch something else. But it deals with the struggle to understand how God is perceived.

Yes, the man has done it all. The title 'World hero' is very much suitable for Kamal Haasan. He is incomparable and has set certain records which is not surpassed by any other actor. I don't know which actor in this world who has multiple talents as him being a director, producer, dancer, actor, technician, assistant director, choreographer, lyricist, television presenter, singer, make up artist, screenwriter and i don't know if i left any. When it comes to his talent, the first thing that always comes to my mind is the movie 'Dasavatharam' where he did 10 roles! That is quite insane, he also gave different voice and body language for all the 10 characters. I doubt there is any actor in this world who did 10 roles in one movie.

My wife is a foreigner who doesn't understand Tamil. One day when I went back from work, I found her crying. She just finished watching "Moondram Pirai" on tv and couldn't stop talking about it for weeks to her family and friends. Great choice to start watching Kamal Haasan movies. I would add "Salangai Oli" to the list. If watching in Hindi, please start with "Ek Duuje Ke Liye". His first Hindi movie that shook big B's position as the #1 actor in that language. Nayagan was listed in Time Magazine's "Top 100 Movies of the Century" is a "must watch".

Hard to list one or even a few movies of Kamal or Kammoo as I used to call him as a child. Some I like just for a sentimental value as I saw them as a child with my family. Some are intellectual but now as an adult I may find some holes in their logic . Still one recommendation would be Mahanadhi. Lots of bold , as in previously unseen story points. And very ahead of its time

I would like to recommend 'Hey Ram' but with Rick's anti Gandhi lens, I doubt you would like it (let's keep the understanding part aside for now), but it may be a good starting point of understanding Gandhi for you guys If you don't want to watch it, my next suggestion would be 'Anbe Sivam'.

There so many and the only that comes in my mind Indian which is good and Dasavataram or watch Appu where he is a shrink

I think kamal hassan's reaction once he finds his daughter in a brothel from the movie, ' Mahanadi' is simply priceless. I wish Rick and korbin react to this emotionally captivating scene.

Rick and Korbin, You guys have seen various actors but Kamal is a complete artist. The reason you see him in so many roles here is because he has seen it all done em all. Remember, Rick said Ustad Zakir Hussain is the art form and he an extension of the Tabla. Kamal Hassan is that for acting. He speaks many languages fluently and has acted in all those languages. Just like how we have many dialects of English in the United States, like how people speak in New York, Tennessee, Texas, Georgia and many more with an accent, likewise Tamil is spoken differently in different parts of Tamil Nadu. One is the Dialect itself but then there is this oratory skills along with the feel and presentation of that community which is very difficult to perceive if you have not lived amongst them. To present it with ease and showing the body language and the acting associated with that character he is performing is something incredible. I also saw the video, you guys reacted to his song from Vishwaroopam, He acts as a Katak dance teacher, His expressions as a dancer is very true and would be difficult to understand if you don’t know that art and the character but Kamal had done 100% justice to that role. Nawazuddin siddique is very good actor whom you guys know, but he feels he is a nobody when compared to Kamal Hassan. Btw, I’m a big fan of Nawaz, Rick and Korbin and a much bigger fan of Kamal Hassan 😎😎😎, please do more reactions on some of his acting.🙏
