    Schindler's list makes me cry. That was a heartfelt cello solo. The tears welling up in the musicians eyes.... 😢 😢 😢

    John Williams has such a wide range of Cinematic music that works perfectly in movies and also is so wonderful to listen to separately. Many of us have seen the movies he scores, so many times, we can often visualize what is happening on the screen. So many great memories!!!

    Totally agree! Whenever "Radio" is involved its almost everytime is a gurantee, that the sound is superb. E.g. Tiny Desk Concerts.

    I went to YT for something. I forgot what. I saw the caption for this concert and made the mistake of clicking on it (I love John Williams' compositions). Two hours later, I'm amazed at the quality, professionalism and virtuosic performances of every musician. Mr. Inkinen is amazing. Fabulous concert!!!

    Playing ▶️ this again, on repeat. I wish I could understand German and the cool dude with the mic 🎤 and Harry Potter costumes and more. This has been mixed to perfection. When I listen (erm, blast) to this through my stereo and subwoofers, so do my neighbours. Divine 👌

    When I taught 8th grade World History, I could always get my kids going by introducing the Roman Empire lessons by "singing" John Williams' "Imperial March" - along with some histrionics on my part. Ahh, those were the days!

    What a great rendition of John Williams' greatest hits. Well all his songs are his greatest hits. I'm traveling over to Berlin from the UK to watch him conduct the Berlin Philharmonic In October 2021. ABSOLUTELY cannot wait!

    Even though I only understand a few words of (high) German being spoken, being from Pennsylvania, this is still enjoyable! I love seeing all the people sitting at tables and eating while enjoying the music! John Williams seriously wrote the soundtrack to my childhood!

    Wasn't sure if I was going to listen to this one, then once I heard the opening of the Olympic Fanfare - and heard the absolute quality of both the skill of the orchestra and the crispness of the recording - I stuck around for the entire thing. Bravo to all involved

    The moderator is hilarious. Initially I was annoyed, but seeing his excitement and enthusism combined with this beautiful music and all the different costumes, I really think he did a good job! Also he did a great job preparing the audience for what they were about to expect.

    MERECIDO HOMENAJE por esta orquesta alemana DRP magistralmente dirigida por el finlandés Pietari Inkinen a uno de los más importantes y prolíficos compositores de bandas sonoras de la historia del cine que sin ninguna duda es el estadounidense JOHN WILLIAMS nacido en 1932 y que en la actualidad a los 89 años está ya prácticamente inactivo. BRAVO !!! Saludos desde España.

    I think all of the greatest (including Beethoven by reading the score) would have been with the same "wow" expression we have by hearing all of these music. John Williams, for me is the last orchestra composer treasure in human history

    I think he'd say the same thing about Aaron Copeland, who I think is one of many that bridges the gap between him and Williams. Using key, time signature, and rhythm changes is what makes new music so much fun. You have to keep in mind Mozart did not do soundtracks and Copeland did only about a half dozen. I’m sure you can listen to one Williams did from a movie you didn’t see and still enjoy, but you are still imagining a more complex story.

    [Deutsch unten] The camera directing on this video is excellent. It's frustrating to watch concert videos where the director doesn't have a good idea which musicians to highlight when. This director was clearly well versed in the musical numbers which performers would be playing significant parts, almost always focusing on musicians who were playing important parts of each piece. Die Kameraführung bei diesem Video ist hervorragend. Es ist frustrierend, Konzertvideos anzuschauen, bei denen der Regisseur nicht genau weiß, welche Musiker er wann hervorheben soll. Dieser Regisseur war eindeutig mit den musikalischen Nummern vertraut, in denen Interpreten bedeutende Rollen spielen würden, und konzentrierte sich fast immer auf Musiker, die wichtige Teile jedes Stücks spielten.

    Bellissimo concerto. Suonai anch'io questi brani con la mia orchestra. Loro suonano molto bene ma nel loro organico, per suonare le musiche di John Williams, mancano un certo numero di corni francesi. 🙂🙂🙂 Schönes Konzert. Ich habe diese Stücke auch mit meinem Orchester gespielt. Sie spielen sehr gut, aber ihren Mitarbeitern fehlen einige Waldhörner, um die Musik von John Williams zu spielen. 😊😊😊 Beautiful concert. I also played these pieces with my orchestra. They play very well but their staff lack a number of French horns to play John Williams' music.

    Just found this video. Wonderful overall. In Germany leather boots should have been available for the Darth Vader characterization instead of rain boots. Still, the effect was not lost. Terrific audience and good weather contributed to a very good production. The saxophonist was terrific, along with her fellow musicians, and the person who prepared the script held the whole program together. Congratulations!

    Its is not exactrly the olympic fanfare it is the music John Williams prepared fot the centennial olympic games of Atlanta 1996, called summon the heroes. but it isn't the olympic hymn.

    @@figlesias2179 This piece is actually titled "Olympic Fanfare and Theme." It was composed by John Williams for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
