Anybody considering the Motion Boom Plus may hold off a while. There have been several reported issues with the passive radiators swelling if exposed to hot temperatures. Anker is aware and is addressing the issue currently.

I own both. Only a very limited amount of Motion Boom Pluses were effected by radiator bloating in the first batch. That problem has been resolved. And the latest firmware update .36 has resolved the harsh highs. That being said, the Tribit is still just a bit better sounding. The battery will last longer than the MB+ also. The lights are kind of cool sometimes. But it's massive weight and infinity cable charging are negatives. The lightness, usb c charging and dust resistance of the MB+ are pluses. But here are two other factors no one else is talking about. The Blast is very stable. It's feet plant this heavy beast down. It ain't moving. The plastic is also dent resistant. The MB+ however is a tipsy topsy speaker. The feet don't plant the box. Plus it's so light, that it's easy to knock off the table. And the plastic is sooooooo dentable. I barely hit the edge of the table and put a big dent in the plastic next to the passive radiator. All that to say, you absolutely can't go wrong with either one. For me, whoever comes out with a silicone sleeve protective case first gets my overall vote. For now, I teeter totter back and forth. Some days I think I'm going to sell one, and then other days I think I'm going to sell the other. That's how close they are. Both great. But both have their advantages and disadvantages.

i got both the blast and boom plus, got another blast coming saturday!!! tribit is my new fav speaker. my motion boom plus is great speaker, light ,but i got the 035 firmware update, calmed down the highs a bit, but i cant hit that deep rich bass with soundcore plus. plus its got that bass slap!! i can hear it on the video too!! tribit is a quality built heavy speaker. as always great review jay, i guess mr hand had a rough weekend! lmfao!!!!

I have both of these speakers as well...the MB+ definitely sounds more harsh. I also compared the Blast to my UE Hyperboom and felt that the Hyperboom had better clarity but not the very nice deep bass of the blast.

Do you know what day the jbl boombox 3 will be out?

The Soundcore has a more open sound, but could be a bit fatiguing to the ears. The Tribit has a darker, thicker sound.

I never had that one,. Mainly due to price and too many people who complained of issues with it I think it sold mostly around $150 or more. The Onn Large Party speaker 2 is $149 at Walmart, but the verdict is still out if it is reliable or not. The first one had reliability issues. The W-King T11 is also a good option in that price range

I don't care for the Soundcore app EQ. Has too many holes in it and cuts off too high. I prefer 3rd party EQ.

When it comes to the tribit stormbox blast. It's the low deep bass that is very good. To me I can set in front of the tribit and enjoy the sound on a louder volume. That soundcore is just too twitter harsh. On the ears. Also the light on the tribit is a really good touch the lights are really bright.

How about listening at home at low volume? 10-30%

Both speakers have an equalizer or if the app you're using has an equalizer you can equalize that harshness out

The Tribit app is very buggy. I didn't want to firmware update the Boom Plus and not doing so disables the app use. Hope this helps.

Yeah but technically the sound core app doesn't have a 6 khz slider . So you have to try to fix it around the edges. It's a shame. Thankfully the smaller motion boom doesn't have the 6 kHz peak and a pair of those those is about the same price.

Motion Boom Plus also has a smaller battery than the Blast.

That was supposed to be addressed and they replaced those that had the issue. I had one and contacted them, despite never having the radiator issue. My serial number was in that range that they had me send it to them and they sent me a replacement. This was quite a while back, maybe close to 2 years ago.

The blast has a indoor base.. Discoteca style. Boom plus outside base. Driving style. Is a party speaker...

Soundcore sound better lower or higher the other one is flat on mids and highs

I wish Jay had included a demo of more melodic, less rock-ish music so we could hear how these perform across all genres, not just those that emphasize bass performance.

Blast is definitely winner in bass..

The Tribit sounds balance but a bit boxey sounding while Anker a bit harsh on the highs and less deep bass..

I'm pretty sensitive to that "boxy" sound and I'm not getting any of that from the Blast. It's usually due to oddly elevated mid bass and mids.

Yeah, you can download and register on the Tribit app and use their EQ modes are set your own custom EQ. You must register with email to get access to the custom EQ and a few of the other pre-sets. Only 3 arre available if you are unregistered.

@@lucabertolaso2167 okay. You must have the treble maxed out in custom EQ to get it very loud. The Motion boom is a warm sounding speaker and not overly loud. I had two of them at one time. The Boom Plus is WAY louder than the Boom and the Blast is on par with the Boom Plus in max output.
