At 7:53 I stated 3rd party EQ, but both of these are supported through the Soudncore app and you can change the EQ or create a custom EQ from there.

I preferred the boom 2 at lower to medium volumes. At high volume the boom + sounded better. I think overall, size, price, lights, i'd opt for the boom 2.

I think after a while the boom 2 is going to take the place of the boom. Glad to see you make a video of this. Just bought the boom Plus thought I made a mistake but got it at a good price. I bet the boom 2 would compare to the neo 2 real good.

Rave Neo 2 is a larger speaker with a much larger woofer, which makes it sound fuller and stronger on the low end.

I own both speakers, but if size isn’t a big deal for you…the boom plus is a better speaker…much louder, more bass, and clearer highs. It gets muddy at very high volumes though (just adjust the bass EQ. I like my volumes between 40-70%. For the size, the boom 2 is great. Fits in my backpack better. I really like them both, so it all depends on what you want to carry around.

I agree at 40 to 70 percent with my custom EQ none of my other speakers can touch the Boom Plus in volume and richness.. not my wkingX10 nor my Xtreme 2....now at max my wking is a champ it doesn't compress and get muddy like the Boom Plus. And the Xtreme which I purchased first way before the others... is in embarrassing last place to boom Plus and wking $330 smh. I been with JBL since 2011 but now they can only get my money in the party speaker category they are the Champs in that department..

I have the plus and we use it for sports at our middle school. It fills the gym pretty good. Gets very loud.

Hey Jay im wondering if you have run into the issue i have with the boom 2. Its happened twice now where i just feel like the volume seems way lower than it should be . Then all a sudden it will just kinda do a sound skip and boom the sound is Much louder and its like it added 50 percent or more. Im using a android s22. It does not do that on my pluses or my booms ive tested. But when it does do the sound skip and get much louder its quite impressive as a pair.

Hi Jay! Good job with these comparisons! I've watched them all :) I just sold my Motion Boom cause I felt it lacks some clarity sometimes. I was going to get the Boom 2, but having just 1 woofer I am not sure. Would it affect the stereo separation, so it could sound worse than the Boom at low levels? I will be using the speaker for listening at low levels indoors, but also outdoor for small gatherings. I am considering also the Motion Boom+, although that is a bit bigger, and I hoped to get something similar in size with my old Motion Boom. But I could live with bigger if it is better. What would you recommend? i am really stuck here..

The Boom 2 will still have stereo separation. The larger woofer is, IMO, better than 2 smaller woofers. The Motion Boom was a really nice speaker with a full sound, but it did have a weakness in clarity and upper range detail. The Boom 2 does a better job in that aspect. As you could hear in this video and decide for yourself if the Boom 2 is enough speaker for your needs. It gets fairly loud for it's size and has a full and clear sound. I think it would make a nice speaker for you.

put the boom2 next to wall or a shelf with a higher ceiling and the boom 2 on certain songs will indeed put out more bass. The plus goes prob 30 percent louder and its a punchier bass. I would say the boom 2 is more warm. Both are fantastic speakers and both can be paired together but outside the plus pairs will destroy the boom 2 pairs. They will just put out depth you will feel from far away. Try a song like ghosts and stuff by deadmau5 and youll see the difference.

The MB+ has more bass but the Boom 2 actually has deeper and more balanced bass. The MB+ is quite a bit louder, the difference is significant. The MB+ has a disgusting peak in the 7 Khz range. The Boom + has a peak a bit lower and while it is a little annoying, it does sound better (to me at least). The MB+ can fall to pieces at high volume if you add too much bass in custom EQ or an aftermarket EQ. So far Boom 2 seems to have made good strides fixing that. It compresses of course but doesn't go all to sh*t. The Boom 2 also has Souncore's new "full range" EQ which is actually quite nice.

So funny. Exactly the two I have to choose from. In fact your recording mic wasn't able to record the full range/spectrum of those speakers, I gotta say the motion got a larger stage in sound. The boom 2 sounds a bit more centered. Thanks for testing, though.

I've never taken it from full to dead battery in one sitting, so I couldn't say for sure. What you are listening to, how loud and with lights on or off will also be factors that will make battery life vary quite a bit. The battery does seem to last a good amount of time at mid volume levels. I've listened for several hours total and still don't have to recharge yet.

I was able to get about 5 hours out of mine at full volume it actually outlasted my boom plus which I had not at full volume but at the same volume as the boom 2s full volume using partycast

@@juanfigueroa4305It’s a great and affordable speaker. I’m also thinking about buying it. Only.. Wednesday June 5th, Soundcore releases the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus but it’s twice the price ($250) It’s a large speaker that on many points beats the JBL Boombox 3 ($500) and with 140 watts RMS.

I'm waiting to see if they produce a NEW BOOM PLUS..

The Boom2 is monaural, for stereo sound you need to connect two. If I am not mistaken, the Motion Boom Plus is stereo, right? Why does nobody seem to care...?!

You actually are mistaken. Boom 2 does have L/R stereo separation.

Not really. If you have the Motion Boom that I did, the Boom 2 is a vast upgrade over the Motion Boom.

I can't really see getting the Boom 2 if you already have the Boom+. As you saw and heard in the video, these speakers aren't terribly different in terms of sound, so the better option might be to just get a second Boom+ and run them together.

​@@dsgaming9893 the oG motion booms are the less speakers they made that I think were tuned well out of the box. The boom plus had the terrible peak at 6 hz. I would just stick with your motion booms. The only real downside is a lack of a 3.5 jack but that's not corrected in the newer model boom 2. So for 95% of the videos that have come out for the boom 2 are paid sponsorships. We know the motion boom won over even the harshest critics like Alan Ross.

@@michaelcorcoran8768 You are right about the 95 percent of videos. Most show the unboxing, Oh and it has 4 eq etc etc, we like the soundcore signature option and think it sounds great. No it doesnt. When you tune your eq to your liking and add more vocal and clarity etc then it sounds good. yes the boom is still nice. I had the option to send both my booms back to amazon up until today and i still had the boxes but i said, EHH its 200 dollars worth of good audio, Ill just keep the og booms still becuase i still like them , mostly for the fact that they allowed you to tilt them forward or backward. The boom 2 is only horizontal or vertical.

Which one is better in your opinion

The Boom 2 is actually not the successor to the Motion Boom. The Boom 2 isn't in the Motion line. And I can tell you the Boom 2 is vastly superior to the Motion Boom, which lacks tweeters.

I hated the motion boom. Returned it after testing it for a week a couple of years ago. But this boom 2 is on another level. It blows away the motion boom. My guess is that the motion boom will be obsolete now that this boom 2 is out. So far, I’m very impressed with my boom 2. It’s a keeper! Oh, I also like the boom 2 better than my charge 5 now. Lol

They retired the motion naming. Nothing will ever be called emotion ever again. Same with the life naming.

I own two motion booms and they sound good imo. I listened for hours of the differences between the boom 2 and the booms. I own 2 boom 2s and 2 boom pluses two. It is pretty bad ass having two boom 2 and two pluses hooked up through party cast though. Imo they went with a warmer sound on the boom 2 and i tried forever to try to get it to sound as crisp as some of the beats and vocals that the boom OG can produce. sound core CLAIMS that the boom 2 goes louder but id say the boom goes maybe 10 percent louder, granted its not as much bass its still very good. The boom 2 does indeed put out more bass if you are next to it close and if you put it high on a shelf by a wall and a ceiling or a bathroom wall it produces a great sound and the lights are cool. the plus as a pair will blow the boom 2 away outside. Id describe the plus as being good but really good outside as a pair the farther away you are. In the end ill keep both boom 2s, both pluses and yes ill keep the OG booms too because on some songs like edm and high vocal music its just so clear with my settings of course. I also use my own extra eq where i can add more eq and more bass but turn the settings down as i increase volume. That really makes the boom OG come alive close to what the boom 2 is. Id say for rock music the boom 2 excels. Can anyone tell me why the boom sounds brighter and crisper and goes louder than the boom 2? Is it because the boom 2 uses two SILK dome tweeters and one race track driver and the boom uses two Titanium drivers? Im trying to understand this. Or maybe its because of the crossover they chose with the boom 2? I also want to add that at least 40 to 50 percent volume the boom 2 is a fantastic sounding speaker with depth. Id even say up close it has more bass than the plus.

For me the Boom 2 is the better option. The Boom Plus's treble has never sounded right to me, and the bass just isn't all that deep for its size. On the other hand the Boom 2 has better balance in the highs AND runs deeper in the bass. But from what i've seen most people are happy with a huge helping of upper bass with complete disregard to how much deep bass they are missing and thus will prefer the Boom Plus.

B2 has that spatial audio clarity, but the B+ has more bass, especially at lower levels. The louder they get, i feel the B2 pulls ahead overall

Boom 2 doesn't have spatial audio that is featured in the X500 and X600. It's just two front-firing tweeters and a woofer in the Boom 2.

You can run any Soundcore speakers together, up to 100 I believe, that support Partycast 2.0. 😉

I did party cast on 2 pluses and 2 booms and it was pretty awesome with 4 speakers on but on bass heavier rock songs i noticed something was missing and speakers were bottoming out too easy. I believe its because paired mode is tws or true stereo mode and party cast is putting them all into mono mode?

I am done with soundcore. Sort of like raycon they oversaturated the market, you can't trust 95% of people that talk about their products because it's paid. They make incredibly spurry as claims, lie about having spatial audio when they only really have an upward firing speaker on the x600. And their firmware's changed so frequently then even if you see a favorable review the odds are very high you're getting a different tuning than the reviewer. I think they jumped at the shark around 2021..
