I have both. IMHO sound of the Tribit is more balanced and warm, its sounds much better in small rooms and outdoor. It has less distortion. Firmware 3.1 Both speakers can sound better with custom EQ. Anker may be a better choice for outdoor activities ( USB C charging, lighter). I like both.

I’ll go with motion boom plus for the only reason that it takes usb c to charge and that means I can use a external power bank and make the battery last longer for camping trips and days at the beach. The shoulder strap is also a plus for portability.

It sounds like another firmware update is in order for the Soundcore MBP. It’s weird that Soundcore would release a speaker that’s the bigger bother to their lightning in a bottle Motion Boom and have that speaker sound completely different.

I have watched so many youtube videos on both speakers before I made my final decision. I went with the tribit over the soundcore. It came down to bass and battery life. They both advertise 20hrs of battery life. The tribit is advertised at 30hrs with the rgb lighting off. The bass on the tribit is much deeper than the soundcore. I have also seen posts online and watched other reviewers on youtube mention the battery life issue with the soundcore. Alan Ross pointed this out in his latest review comparing these two speakers. The battery on the soundcore was not thought out correctly. I was in the market for a new bluetooth speaker so when both of these speakers came out I did a ton of research before I pulled the trigger. On a side note I was also considering the jbl bb2 and the party box 110 and 310. For under $200 I think the tribit will do just fine.

Im in the same boat as you. In the market for a Bluetooth speaker when these came out. I've been doing my research and I might have to go with the soundcore because I travel a lot and its much lighter. If the weight didn't matter, I would've gone with the tribit.

@@Thomas-qn6el Don't do it. Now the soundcore has another issue. Heat. I guess if it is in the sun for any length of time it is unusable. Just watched a video on Oluv's gadgets youtube channel. Check it out for yourself. Soundcore rushed this to the market and a lot of KZreadrs were hyping it up so people purchased it.

@@Thomas-qn6el Just received the stormbox today. Thoroughly impressed with it.

After testing both speakers using a decibel meter the tribit was louder. 10 feet away with the meter mounted using different genres the tribit was louder. It sounds deeper to the ear but the soundcore seems more clear and punchy. Either one will get the job done. If you like the bass I'd go with the tribit. If you like a tighter punchier sound then the soundcore is your beast.

As a GenX member I remember school dances had disco balls with colored lights shining in all directions and the Tribit just brings the nostalgia I’m sold on Tribit with just the lighting alone..

I have both. I can’t pick a favorite , I enjoy using both . Tribit is more powerful it’s atleast 10-15 pounds and to charge you plug into the wall so Maybe not as portable other wise I like everything about it. It went through an extreme price Drop. Now sells for the same as the Motion boom Plus (On most days )

I bought my neighbor the tribit for his bday a few weeks ago he absolutely loves it-!!! It sounds great and has amazing bass. I own the jbl boombox 3 which is clearer, crisp, better lows and highs and is more room filling in sound but its not 300$ better at all. They are both loud and have great bass and sound good and both are heavy but the boombox 3 is stupid heavy like 25-30lbs the tribit is probably 12-18lbs still not light but more versatile to carry then the boombox 3.. so in other words anyone thinking about the purchase get the tribit its a no brainer you will be pleasantly surprised these youtube videos don't do it justice.

Have you tested Soundcore Motion Boom Plus with its custom equaliser using its app? I have got Soundcore Motion Boom & it sounds good with the custom equaliser setting than its default setting.

Anker really missed this chance. They have a wonderful design, wonderful drivers and yet the cab real estate is lacking so much that bass is nearly absent. I will have to go with the Tribit I guess. I supported Anker since day 1. But bass is necessary.

Love my motion boom plus. Zero issues , and I can actually DJ from the aux input , usually most have a noticeable delay between cued headphone audio versus what’s playing out the speaker. As a mobile DJ , that’s a hidden bonus for me. And I’m still getting the Tribit blast. Keep in mind my motion boom came discounted to 150.00 early bird special

You are lucky that you didn't have the issue about overheating, so it builds intense hear pressure from inside of the housing, check oluvs gadget latest video about the boom+ can see the passive radiators bubbling and the sound some how distorted on the woofers

I had them both. While the Soundcore is definitely clearer, the soundcore does not have anywhere near the low-end capability as the Blast and starts to distort beyond 70%. The highs are overemphasized and the bass sounds tinny no matter what you do with the eq. The way the sound projects from the speaker is odd in that unless youre right in front of it, the sound becomes muffled, similar to a TV with a narrow viewing angle. The Blast will never sound as clear but is not tiring to listen to due to its warmer sound signature. It fills the room its in with consistent sound no matter where you are, and the sound it produces is also consistent with its size. Big sound from a "big speaker". The Soundcore is also consistent with its size ; less volume and bass, more emphasis on highs from a smaller and sleeker looking speaker. They are different speakers for different purposes, and will satisfy different preferences.

You can't compare the XP500 as it is not a portable speaker like the XG500 is a portable one. And XP500 is hugeee so big. If talking portable XG500. Get the tribit. Because im a SONY fan. But somehow this new models from SONY XG300 and XG500 is a no-go for me.

Tribit is a better speaker overall when it comes to sound but there is one huge let down it's just too heavy to be called a portable speaker. The convenience of the Boom box plus weights so much less. Its the key winner here.

But to answer your question, I would choose the Telecaster due to its presence and "in yer face" sound. I hope I have answered your question consisely.

@@-JIGSAW- To my ears the Les Paul is a more polite mellow sound which is similar to when I'm using the two speakers on the line in inputs as opposed to the bluetooth and fed from the output of my mini mixer, on most of the material I listen to whether jazz or 70's rock and blues the Motion Boom Plus gives a livelier sound, however when playing bass heavy dub or reggae the stormbox does give a little more rumble, but certainly at the expense of top end. They also work quite well together.

Crisp balanced bass for mb+ got mine and it sounds amazing and portable and lightweight .you can bring it everywhere you want and it packs a punch! Soundcore win

I listened with my headphones and soundcore is much clearer and bright. The tribit has a very good bass but i miss mid and high... The soundcore has a good equalizer, 9 bands. The tribit has a 8 bands equaliser but with equaliser correction the problem stays

my motion boom plus cant handle the deep bass like my blast can! poor thing like bottoms out. blast only bottoms out on bass boosted song up loud! something to keep and eye and ear on! also jbls with lfm active!! it can damage stuff. thats why they have dsp! lol!!

Well the interesting thing is that your ears can't hear higher than 20 kHz, but you can actually hear them through your skin so it does actually matter if the speaker supports >20 kHz frequencies. That's why CD's sound so weird and not full, because they're capped at 20 kHz.

The weight: Soundcore put neodymium magnets in the motion boom plus. That gets them the performance with less weight. Well, also they put a much smaller battery in it hahah.

Since the Tribit Stormbox Blast uses a 120V AC input rather than USB, the AC to DC inverter is housed inside the speaker and adds a bit of weight. I wish the Tribit used USB C PD for charging, but understand the decision since it would add cost and most people would inadvertantly use a standard USB 5V 1A charger rather than a 20V 60W USB PD charger and commplain about how long it takes to charge. The Soundcore speaker uses USB C, but has a fairly small battery for its size, which makes it much lighter and requires less time to charge.

the 6k is too high on the boom and too low on the storm box, both sound great, a little eq and your good! 👍👍 After listening to this with skull crusher evos on full blast with the base full blast I can confirm that the storm box crushes!

Yes the blast is a bit heavier but it's the speaker of 2022. I just got mine last night and am listing my jbl partybox 110 for sale and buying a second. Does it beat the 110 for sound.. not quite it doesn't have the bass of 110 bit it's close amd I can easily grab 2 of the blast before I grab the 110 to go outside etc. I've owned a ton of speakers over last 5 years like a ton of them and this is easily my new all time favorite. Also look at issues soundcore is having now with their passive radiators and battery life. I love soundcore I also wrote a glowing review of the boom plus but after listening g for a bit and using at higher volume that review changed. But I own the soundcore liberty 2 pro + the liberty 3 pro and just last week got the brand new sport x10 and I own the life q30 my dad owns the motion plus my brother the liberty 2 and the liberty air 2. That's because I recommended them to get them but this boombox plus is a huge letdown. They messed up with this. The blast does everything the boom plus does but better!!! For rap it fn thumps but 90 percent of what I listen to is rock from 50s 60s 70s and preferably live sets and this thing is amazing for that!!!! If I had the cash now I'd a already ordered the second. This speaker is fn amazing!!! I'd order it immediately if you can!!!

I'd go for the Tribit but there is no shoulder strap and no way to attach one so I'm getting the Soundcore.

I go for Soundcore Motion Boom Plus cause I always take a walk with my Dog. Tribit is too Heavy. We are supposed to be talking More about Portability.

You can't tell by this video, but the Motion Boom Plus is better imo. I have one and it sounds better in person than on this video. This video did not help my decision at all, I just took a chance. It was the weight and the usb-c charging for me. The boom plus clarity is way better than any w-king.

I had both and returned the Boom Plus. It wasn't bad, but owning the Blast first, it really didn't bring the bass like the Blast does. The clarity might be there, but there's also something artificial about it. Weight and USB-C charging are important to some, and I respect that. Neither of those matter to me as unless I'm camping, and I would never bring the Blast nor a Motion Boom + camping, maybe a Charge 5 or something similar out of respect for neighbors.

It’s called harmonics overtones it improves the sound quality

The plus got an major issue if wanna play outside on a sunny day the plus is overheating . He pumps out his passive radiators coz of to much hot air in the speaker at this moment the speaker is broken!!! A big manufactor error ,so i send it back really sad but waiting for a new rev. With maybe better tweeter!

Tribit has more bass, but vocals and mids and highs sound muddy. Soundcore highs and mids sounded nice and tight and more live!

​@@legendaryblood1937I agree, the Anker sounds sibilant at times, but I guess older people would prefer that sound due to natural hearing loss, quite common actually.
