If I’m honest this situation is how I found her, and just from her first video I was complaining pissed off at him and I had seen his first. As soon as I saw how emotional she was I knew this wasn’t just some of the typical KZread drama and I felt so awful she had to even talk about this publicly. I remember thinking about how amazing her husband was comforting her, tucking her in and petting her head and it made me cry, I wanted to learn more about this sweet girl and her husband, I remember at first I didn’t see him often in the videos I watched but I fell in love with her personality and goofiness. She’s so real and now she tries to stay away from the KZreadr social scene and I think it’s done a lot of good for her, she has real friends now and a beautiful supportive family and it makes me so happy to see.

Until I saw the word "gaslighting" and the definition, I didn't realize I was a victim. I thought I was just surviving the hardships of life. I live with very little trust of people. It's why I hold on to BTS so tightly. They remind me that good people exist.

I was high and bored 1 night & i stumbled on "the right opinion" about this situation, i didnt know who any of the people were that he was talking about. Stephanie is the only one I eventually followed. Idr this situation well but i do remember being on her side even before i knew who she was. So fight or flight actually has a third called fawn (and a fourth called freeze). What she's describing is fawning. Fawning is often a trauma response. Because of her prior trauma with the SA in her home she will likely feel less stable in situations that should call for stability logically speaking. She was in a situation where she was just eating and making videos, and under normal circumstances with someone who doesn't fawn, they would have just said, "Please, lets drop that topic. I don't want to talk about it in the video," but this is not a normal situation because she has triggers because of her prior trauma. So Nik triggered her and she was trying to satisfy him throughout the night so that she could survive. She was in a room with a bear. She was trying to pretend not to breathe, and lay on the ground, and play dead so that she wouldn't draw it's attention, so that she could wait for the right moment to run away. This is a normal response for trauma survivors and especially SA. She did nothing wrong even if there is a theoretical "better" thing to do.

Nickacado has a pattern of behavior were he makes himself the victim of people he treats badly. I remember when this happened, I had never watched Stephanie before but I was vaguely aware of her. This made me start paying more attention to her content. 1 because it was so clear she was valid in what she was feeling, and 2 you can clearly see the manipulative behavior she's talking about in his response. 3 is also because I was already familiar enough with nick through very similar situations of expose videos he was doing on other creator's at the time that were getting alot of attention then. It's not that it was similar in what was going on exactly but the way he would start making pointed comments about anonymous creator's in his content, then he'd name drop with more specifics, n it'd build to these exposè's with dms and messages painting a very similar narrative of unprovoked mistreatment out of the blue. Stephanie was just aware enough of his tactics to feel like she needed to say her side first and I feel really bad that he made her feel like she had to do that. The fact that she felt forced to talk about such traumatic personal business in order to show she was being honest is so messed up and sad. I'm proud of her for standing up for herself, but it was clear she was worried ppl wouldn't believe her or understand the context without those details and no one should feel forced to open up about their trauma like this, having it used against them and downplaying how it's affected them. Nick's a pos fs.

honestly you increasing the speed on nick's video is a mood. He is just so nauseating to me. And more strength to Stephanie, I can only imagine how hard & painful it might have been. I work in mental health and I see all this more often than I'd like, and I am filled with awe when I see her. I hope all good things to come to her & that she has such a good support system. Makes all the difference.

Stephanie is my beautiful lovely girl and when I first watched these vedios, I literally cried like a baby . Because for a lot of people ,it's not easy to say no confidently because of countless reasons. And it's so heartbreaking to see her breakdown like that because I'm also in a state for past 5 years and I had multiple breakdowns and it's the darkest place that you've ever been.😭💜🧡

Learning about this whole thing a while ago really made me like Stephanie even more because she reminded me so much of myself. Our personalities are so similar, and me also being a people pleaser have found myself in a lot of situations in which narcissistic people like Nikocado easily prey upon and take advantage of. I really felt her pain and could relate so much! 😢

2:16:39 That’s so sweet you sound like a good brother 😭 I raised my little brother and while he hated me growing up now he’s very sweet and protective, he proudly tells people I’m his best friend and when his friends apparently have a crush on me and my brother told me that when they ask if I’m still single or ask him to throw in a good word for them he says “listen I think your cool and all but your not good enough for my sister, she deserves absolute perfection” at first they were hurt until they found out he said the same thing to all his other friends. My brother tells me everything and he said he hoped I wasn’t angry for “controlling” my love life like that but it never bothered me because I know he just wants the best for me, he told me he wants someone who will cook and clean for me because I do it for everyone else and I pay for everyone but no one does it for me and he wants that for me. He explained it to his friends later that it’s like if your mom was going to remarry or something, that’s your mom and you want someone who can take care of her and that’s good enough for her. Even little brothers protect and care about they’re older sister as if they were younger in some ways, I’m still the mother figure in his eyes but also takes up that big brother role and it’s so sweet and I feel lucky to have a brother like that and I bet your sisters feel the same way, it’s truly such a treasure of a sibling relationship to have.

As a more recent fan of Stephanie, I stumbled across another KZreadr reacting to these videos and that's how I became so attached to Stephanie. Cuz before I had subscribed to her but I wasn't 100% a fan since I also watch other channels. After I watched these videos, I couldn't help but feel so protective 😅 Especially because the last time someone tried guilt tripping me and pulled the victim card, I was just fed up with the behavior. Because I had set up boundaries, I wasn't the affectionate type even with my partner at the time and this person who I considered a friend crossed the line. He wanted me to coddle him when he victimized himself. And like I did my best to show I cared but like I said I'm not really affectionate, I don't do coddling and I hate it when someone tries that on me (I need my space after all) When he realized that I wasn't really coddling him and I asked him a question as to why he wants me to be a certain way, he got defensive. The details are fuzzy but I snapped and essentially told him he was an asshole who does have a support group but he pushes away the only people who genuinely care about him. He blocked me so he won't ever read that but eh. He doesn't really scare me ever since I saw first hand that he's all bark no bite. He provokes others and then plays the victim. I admit, he got under my skin once I analyzed him after he blocked me but I suppress my emotions a lot. Not only that but I did catch a glimpse of that side of him once while we were "friends." He tried to get me angry, failed (I have thick skin and just agreed with him, basically ignoring him because I needed my personal space to recharge my social battery a bit), got irritated when I was basically smiling politely at him, etc. My therapist was incredibly proud of me for not stooping to his level. Honestly tho, I could never do what he did because 1) my elementary school self was never humbled so I might have a superiority complex when I'm angry (for context, I was smart for that age, I was shy, the teachers loved me and nobody really noticed me unless I was messing with them) 2) I didn't get my anger issues under control young in life for my efforts to go to waste and 3) I got better things to do with my life than start something. Apologies for going off on a rant 😅 I just get so irritated when I see behavior that reminds me of that jerk. Edit: Another tiny detail to show why that guy's behavior didn't really slide with me: I might be quiet and introverted but I have intense anxiety and anger issues. Like I'm incredibly stubborn and I keep my guard up at all times expecting the worst so if someone tries anything I'll be prepared to skadadle out of there with minimal damage. I was raised to not trust anyone but my immediate family (my family has trust issues). Anyway, I also hate being controlled so the moment I sense someone is trying to control me, I close myself off and watch carefully so I can leave ASAP. I do genuinely believe I'm bipolar. But if not, it's something else cuz I'm unhinged when I'm angry even if I don't show it. Like my thoughts are crazy 😂 My therapist gets worried sometimes 😅

I just remembered another thing that might clarify why I referred to him as a friend at the time. I was pretty much a loner (mostly because I'm an introvert and I don't think I'd be a great fit for most people) and I was trying to socialize more. He was the one who approached me, etc. My partner at the time met him (towards the end of the friendship) and my partner said something was off. I trusted my partner and basically said that I'd take it into consideration and see for myself if there's any red flags. That's another reason why it was easier for me to y'know. I trusted my partner to support me if it went downhill and thankfully it didn't but I was lucky to have such a good partner for my first romantic relationship 😅 I'll shut up now unless anyone wants me to clarify anything

fun fact, Karlee's channel SWIFTLY died after this whole thing. Went from 100k to 300k views per video to struggling to get 20k consistently. the only videos that had healthy views either had Nik or were straight up tea type videos.
