Trial Tube - We Review the new 2021 GAS GAS 300 TXT Racing

This weeks video contains the brand new Gas Gas 300 TXT Racing.
We go in depth into the brands past and also look at what the good, bad and ugly truths are!
My reviews are always independent and this bike has been loaned to us from a consumer and therefore not persuaded by any business or importer.
THIS IS AN HONEST REVIEW!
As always we try our best to ensure we provide the best information and have fun all at the same time! As that's why myself and the guys here at Trial Tube make the effort to keep these coming. A huge thanks to our supporters and subscribers and we hope to have more of the same coming soon for the Beta, Vertigo and many more!
Enjoy and please don't forget to Subscribe!!!

Nice review Danny. Picked up a new 300 over the summer - couldn't resist the deal on the '21 models. Gotta agree on that airbox edge cutting into the leg just above the boot too, it may look cool but it's just not practical. Will probably either smoothen the sharp edge down or start wearing MX boots.

The radiator outside the frame is a disaster of an idea. I had an 2011 sherco with the same idea terrible design. My main issue with gas gas is the frame, there's to many stories of them breaking especially down towards the foot pegs. Don't get me wrong a great bike to ride, but I wouldnt want to own one for a couple of years. I liked the way gas gas rode, but not the build quality so i went for a TRS definitely has a better frame. But the TRS has many faults as well as bad dealer support which put me of them. Thats why i ride green now.

Hi Danny tell gas gas to sort out better steering bump stop it's Disaster aswell doest work when hoping about heavy on full lock left or right the bottom fork yoke still hits nice red painted frame dents & scratches up frame just turning bike.. ud think gas gas would make better steering bumpstop as this happens on all txt racing gp models something to look out for ...i know trials bikes get hit about on rocks but getting nice red frame marked up just from turning bike isn't right.. So gas gas or ktm shit being involved with gas gas maybe it's ktm fault please make better steering bump stop on newer models 😏🤔

Ergonomically speaking I found the Gasser to be short in the cockpit area (so to speak). The Beta due to the steeper head angle has more space. However a mix between the two can provide a little of the best of both worlds

Hi Danny, love your videos! A question for you, that I probably know the answer.....Buying a new trials bike, choice of 21 Beta EVO 300, or 21 GasGas GP 250. I have to wait a month for delivery of the Beta, GG - could take delivery tomorrow. Which one? I think I would like the geometry of the Beta, better parts on the GasGas. Will KTM have major changes in a year or more? Thanks!

  • @TrialTube

Thanks for getting in touch Kirk. The Beta is worth the wait for the feel and the overall sound. The Gas Gas is still a great bike of course contains a lot of OEM bling. It’s personal preference and the Gas Gas pulls better on hills. With the Beta slightly better to manoeuvre. I loved my Beta so I know which way I would go 👍

I have read, and have seen folks struggle to start their Gas Gas big bore bikes. I was at a trial once and this competitor just couldn't start it. An experience Gas Gas rider hops up on it and one kick started it. Apparently it takes a certain style and commitment/strength to start it that other bikes do not.

I have a 2020 txt 300 since August, I rode between 150 hours -1500 km, I know a person who owns a 250cc from the same year, so I would say that I have some background in that model, these are my negative impressions: First of all, I would resume it: 2020 was the year of transition to KTM group, so I would suggest that the quality controls in the factory were less restrictive that year due to the uncertainity of their future. There are a lot of positive points, the TXT has been a reference in trial since 2009, a really good design, but if you want to know my specific bad experiences: 1-You need to check the tightness of each nut-bolt, several are usually loose, I lost the one that holds the kickstarter, two from the bracket, one from the linkage. The carburator clamp was open, so my first excursion dirt the interior of the slide. Did some guy in the factory check that? No. 2-My clutch discs or the basket are worn, it makes some vibration at idle in neutral. In my first oil change there were "big" aluminum chips, which must have come from somewhere in the crankcase, the amount of particles in the oil was unacceptable in my opinion. THe gearbox is quite abrupt and unprecise when the oil warms up. 3- I checked the compresion the first week of use, it was around 175psi, now it is at 170psi, I checked the cylinder with an endoscope camera and there are some scratches and some aluminium in the walls, I never gas or train until the engine is warm, and it goes with my next negative opinion: I think that the cooling system is perfectly designed for the 250cc version, but it lacks of efectivity in the 300cc, too much energy and heat to disipate with that radiator and fan so it goes heat very easy. Hope it helps.

Wow. What a terrible comment. So I can only work with the venue I had during the making of this. If you knew me then you would know my riding level isn’t low but it isn’t easy to make the content and also ride at the same time. Fortunately for the channel I make more effort on the videos than you do with your commenting. Sounds to me like you a bit of a tool. Talking about riding like a slow enduro rider. Missing the understanding of a video meant for those interested in the bike. Not blast about a hill-side playing follow the leader. I look forward to seeing your riding level sometime. Maybe at a British National Championship round. I will be the one finishing I front of you. Sausage!
