OMG... On e of my favourite albums of the progressive rock period... Trespass by the one and only Genesis, but what Genesis are we talking about?
This is considered the first REAL Genesis albums and a crucial turning point in the band's growth. It was the only outing for this line-up.

- Anthony Phillips / acoustic 12-string & lead electric guitars, dulcimer, backing vocals
- Anthony Banks / organ, piano, Mellotron, guitar, backing vocals
- Michael Rutherford / bass, nylon & acoustic 12-string guitars, cello, backing vocals
- John Mayhew / drums, percussion, backing vocals
The tracks remain some of mu favourite even though it was released in 1970 and before all their other major albums..

Trespass!!! What an album!!!
That's a great album. It's amazing the great amount of beautiful melodies all around the songs
I was only aware of Genesis in the late 70's because Kasey Kasem played Ripples on Sunday morning, which I never forgot. It would be for another 4 years before I met someone who had all the LP's and I had a catalog of 8 or so albums to digest all in one sitting. But Trespass always stood out in a way that is hard to describe. It's childlike, playful, whimsical, powerful at times, aggressive and the mix had a certain quality to it that no other Genesis LP has. It was a magical moment in every member of the bands lives' at it that time and it was recorded on vinyl. I think that is what makes Trespass unique in the Genesis catalog. John's drumming was perfect for this album.
