tremolo + delay - Toe - Drum cover
Музыка
After becoming slightly obsessed with Kashikura Takashi's drumming style, I spent the last week learning this song. Took a while because there's lots of variation in the beats which I'm assuming was improvised, so I ended up having to transcribe certain sections to be able to learn it properly.

😮 amazing !!
Sick. Kashikura is godly.
You look so relaxed playing this, you make it look effortless. Testament to your skill and the amount of practice you must have put into this. Great job!
One of my favorite instrumentals of all time, you did all of these grooves justice. Thank you for making this!

Haha cheers! I put the mp3 in logic and set it to loop over a section and learn it bit by bit until I can put the whole track together.

...Anyone know the difference of practice on an electric vs acoustic set? (planning on getting one)

Yeah there are lots of differences. The obvious one is electric kits are a lot quieter and usually allow you to hook up a laptop and use your own sounds. The big downside of electric kits though is that if you only play an electric kit you won't be 'calibrating' your technique to acoustic drums which means when you sit down to play an acoustic kit you'll have some work to do to get the feel you want. For example, on an acoustic kit, if you're practicing a fill that ends on the floor tom you may practice hitting the floor tom with a lot more velocity than the snare so that it's audible when recorded, or if you practice double strokes on different surfaces the technique you use on the floor tom is gonna be different to the snare because there's a lot less rebound. On an electric kit there is no difference so it all feels the same. If you live somewhere where having an acoustic kit isn't possible (like me I live in an apartment and I have to rent this space for my acoustic kit) it's still gonna be useful having an electric one to use for learning and practicing, but I'd definitely recommend finding somewhere local where you can practice on an acoustic kit too when possible. I'm not trying to dissuade you from getting an electric kit if that's what works best for your situation and you can learn a ton of stuff just fine on an electric kit, just saying it's a good idea to supplement that practice with acoustic practice where you can.
