That smear of copper slip on the brake pads... well worth it. My brakes seemed to be clunking...felt at the levers. It was the brake pads sticking on the piston. Smear of copperslip... and it's never done it since. As you say... don't go overboard, just a smear. Crackin job as usual.

Love this vid, I'm currently building a souped up trek Marlin, I had the frame lying around, and I noticed it had a square taper bottom bracket too. I think it's just a think with pricing, however it was a plastic one and an absolute nightmare to get out because the splines were all shredded... Brrr, glad thats over

I have a 2009 Trek 4300 which was too small for a friend who purchased it as an impulse buy several years ago . I built him a Giant Yukon custom whereas the 4300 was rebuilt with high quality components . It rides like a dream now and looks great . It can be seen on Google images at Fulcher's Cyclery in Panania , Australia .

While the clutch does have an o ring seal on the cover and shaft, I have found they can let in water (I think via the shaft seal) which causes corrosion and in one case for the clutch to jam and need full disassembly and repair. Given that, I personally wouldn't immerse them in the ultrasonic.
