It's our final week of vehicle preparations before we hit the road for Darwin, travelling the Explorers Way from Adelaide to the Northern Territory. The LC79 goes in for its 160,000km service, and we also install some new lighting, The Beast from Lightforce, ready for our remote travels. Plus, Paul catches up with Ben from Barossa Offroad to discuss the importance of a Caravan Back Up Plan for Remote Travel in Australia, what gear is a must to take with you and the spare parts that will get you out of trouble. And, we have an unexpected curveball when our ARB dual compressor packs it in, just days before we are planning to hit the Oodnadatta Track!
Ben covers some simple yet often overlooked items that are light weight and could help you get out of trouble should the worst happen, then later on Katie goes over some essential communication gear and emergency preparedness, and Jasper has you covered for Easter with some kid friendly recipes!

Always love your adventures...am constantly sharing with family and friends. I have to say our family holiday to Darwin and Alice Springs definitely left lasting memories for us. Time spent with our 2 teenage daughters was full of fun & laughter .

Absolutely agree about kids and uhf radio's, we went to a pretty busy camping area and some people camping with us had kids who wanted to go off exploring the campground and my daughter had the foresight to bring some of those small uhf's for the kids to communicate with us at camp and we could call them back when it was lunchtime or dinner. Excellent idea for sure.

You are towing lots of weight, driving lights? Lithium pin grease for arms on caravan and tow hitch. A very good spring man told me. Water filter, check going overland. The taste of bore water. Check your wire filter on your hot water system if it has.
