Just a really good ffl that specializes in NFA items but not all ffls can handle it. I think the silencershop offers something similar online but I've never looked into it.

Clarification in beginning. You CANNOT just put on a different caliber - unless you also register that caliber (as of 2022). Multi caliber is no longer acceptable in form 1’s. Also. Make sure to register shortest reasonable length. ATF doesn’t care about longer. But they sure care if you caught with it shorter than what you registered.

My personal SBR is registered as a 7.5 inch 5.56 (which is terrible to shoot fyi). There are letters that can be sent to the ATF to notify of any additional calibers that may be used while in an SBR configuration. Maybe I should make a video on that at some point.

@@deuceandguns yep it’s easy to do. Just wanted clarify that “technically” according to ATF you can’t just slap another caliber on randomly.
