Thanks for exploring Singapore, not the usual city views we see from other videos in KZread. Yes, Singapore is not only beautiful but clean very modern and has diversities. First time I see on videos there’s an Arab quarter in the city with so many food options and variety stores. Nice cute and colorful little buildings in the Turkish, Indian and Mexican quarters. It gives me the idea where to go and check other ethnic places aside from just China town. It’s nice to venture, buy souvenirs and try their cafes and restaurants. Wonderful video of Singapore! Thanks Chris and Carol 😘

@@thebudgetbackpackers Preferably December and January because of the festivals and funfairs springing up across downtown and the housing estate area. However, it’s as hot as a microwave these days. It would always rain consistently daily in Dec/Jan following year but I noticed that it only rains once a week recently. So, yes. It can get very very humid. Alternatively, August and September is where it gets beautiful because of fall/autumn, which looks surreal if you’re in forest reserve parks like Mount Faber or Tampines Eco Green.

Yes you may want to cut down the trees which have only been there for a few years and spoil the view. As an example, Versailles did not have a lot of trees in the original design. But over hundreds of years they grew up and Versailles looked nothing like it was supposed to be. However, a huge hurricane like storm went through Europe and unrooted millions of trees. Thousands of them at Versailles. So, they restored Versailles to its original look. Don't get me wrong, as I love trees. But sometimes they got to go.

Well, you learn something every day, don't you? I have always wondered how foreign credit card fees impacted on the cost of MRT travel in Singapore. I figure from what I know of MRT prices, that of the $3.08USD you paid to get to Beauty World MRT about $2USD went on card fees. So (and this all sounds so clever in retrospect), if you had bought an EZ-link card ($10SGD, $5 card -$5 travel value) you would have been even on the return journey, and then had access to local prices on all the rest of your public transport journeys while in Singapore. Just how cheap public transport is in Singapore is amazing. It just goes to show that getting an EZ-Link card early in your stay in Singapore is the way to go. Forget the Tourist Card unless you are making 20 trips a day over 2 or 3days. The standard EZ-Link card is available from every 7-Eleven, TransitLink ticket office, Singapore Post, and MRT passenger service centre and offers great value. My one regret about the the EZ-Link card is that its name only transliterates meaningfully if you are an American. For the rest of the English speaking world it comes across as EZed-Link which doesn't really work.

@@auvoir2000 Ahh, The crew said they paid $3.08USD each way per person. The standard fare is $0.75USD each way per person. The extra $2.33 USD came from some where, Jason. Not all cards offer free transactions. Most of the cards from the big four banks here in Australia charge high fees and commissions on overseas transactions. Fortunately, you can save yourself a small fortune by looking around.
