Transplanting Jujube Sucker Seedling Bare Root

Jujube is right up there as one of my garden favorites. Besides the abundance of fruit, it is bar none one of the leaders of attracting pollinators. I see insects come to this tree that I see nowhere else in the garden and insects I've never seen before. It likely stems back to the medicinal qualities like that of Moringa and the flowers it has.
I have a good handful of these in my landscape and will always save room to add a few more. The harvest period is long, the fruit is excellent, and the tree is beautiful. The only drawback are the thorns.

Are those Jujubees grafted or airlayered if it's airlayered the shoots will be clones but if it's grafted the shoots below the graft will be from the rootstock. So far I've heard they don't grow true to seed too

They are not grafted. This is the original rootstock. You are correct that airlayer will be identical, and rootstock or seed may not be true to parent. However, my experience with Jujube is that the rootstock fruit, even though smaller than some grafted varieties, is just as tasty, and likely MORE prolific.

@@DesertGardensHomestead maybe more prolific according to the variety but I can't agree with you on taste especially the common ones in Barbados normally real acid

@geriannroth449 These are very tasty. I've encountered other rootstock jujube over the years in other landscapes, and the fruit size and taste was very similar to this tree. I do have grafted varieties such as GA-866. That fruit is sweeter, but not substantially different in taste.

From my understanding, the shoots from the main tree wont produce the same fruit as in quality. Maybe you can graft that shoot from the original tree? Im still learning on the grafting part.

You are correct if it's a grafted variety. Thus tree was originally a sucker, so the rootstock coming up as suckers will be the same. I also have other varieties that are grafted. The thing with Jujube, is they are all great tasting, mainly a difference in size. Thanks for commenting and watching!
