This is a video review of the TransK9 Dog Crate for your car. These crates are built for specific car models and have a custom fit. I love that they don't rattle and provide a safe ride for my dogs. I recommend this crate if you're looking to invest in an awesome dog crate for professionals or sports dog owners.

    Thank you for posting! I just bought the TransK9 B32 crate after watching your video and doing a lot of research. Yes, it cost almost £800 including the mat but what price the safety of my beloved dogs? Sure it's an investment - but buy cheap, buy twice as they say... and this will easily outlive my dogs including probably me!

    Thanks so much for this review; I am really considering one. My only concern is getting rear-ended (was in a terrible accident a few years ago and thankfully my dog was not in the back; I've been paranoid ever since). I saw that it has been crash tested? Do you feel comfortable if that were to happen?

    Hi Civvy - yes I do feel comfortable with that. That being said, I would check with TransK9 for more information on the crash testing so you can make your own judgement from the company itself. I do not regret having a TransK9 at all though. It is a SOLID crate (and heavy!) lol.

    Get a really big truck. That's probably my former life in Texas influencing this suggestion. If you need to haul a horse trailer, a proper truck is essential. A truck is great for taking dogs too (in the back seat you can strap a kennel box in sideways -- bec' cool air conditioning for your dogs is necessary). Either that, or you need a vehicle with a crash tested frame that can take a hit. Then, just drive defensively, as in keep a cushion of space around your vehicle while you're on the road with your dogs, as best you can. Probably easier said than done, lol. People tend to drive all bunched together.

  • @Blue9PetProducts

    @Blue9PetProducts

    Hey Andrea - I would say, sort-of/not-really, visibility is not great. Honestly, I've been using my mirrors for so long that that is pretty much all I use. So if total visibility is important, this probably isn't the crate for you (though it probably does depend on your trunk space and the height of your car. Mine is a subaru which is fairly low and the crate blocks visibility.

    Honestly ever since I started driving a van with no rear window it has been a lot easier to drive as when people tailgate you you dont really care just focus whats in front, feels a lot safer even though you see less, not good if you dont have reversing sensors thogh.. or camera

    Hi Barb - I think it would be really hard to "break through" or knock out the metal divider that is secured with screws in a couple locations. I don't suppose it's impossible but it was never a fear of mine.

    Hi, Laura. Can you tell me whether the model in this video has enough space to transport three Labradors over a short distance? I'd like to transport my three labs to the local lake without them destroying the car with water, mud, and so on. I know it's not ideal for three dogs, but we're talking about a 15 minute ride to the lake. Thoughts?

  • @DoggyU

    @DoggyU

    Are we talking 40 lb pocket labs, or full size 90 lb labs? I would say it would be tight for 3 40lb labs and not doable for much above that. That would be for an outback anyways - they make all different sizes so you may be able to go with a larger crate if you have a larger car.

    @@jgianas maybe I’m ‘one of those’ guys and I’ve lost clients for my firmness but if you were my client I’d say you’re looking at it all wrong, it’s not the crate that needs to be built to accommodate an anxious dog, it’s the dog who needs to be trained for a crate. I don’t know you so this isn’t a shot at you but my warning I always give is if you’re afraid of the work needed to have a good animal then don’t have the animal. An anxious dog creates hazards for themselves whether in the home crate or in a car crate. Use a humane mussel to prevent 80% of potential self harm, but training for calmness is a must. Putting a dog into the car when it is super scared of it is not good for your relationship. Sns

    @@John-cy4bm ah! I see! I would actually think if that was a concern that the TransK9 or the Ruffland would be good choices. They're both thinner which means less bouncing around when you brake. With car crating, you want the crate to be smaller than house crating for the exact reason that you don't want the dog to have much space to move in the event of an accident, but enough to turn around and lay down comfortably.
