“Yasha isn’t straight, why should her stripe be?” Perfect! Also, you can totally be Yasha, you’ve got the guns and the “I would like to RAGE!” attitude to personify her. Also, love the Wicked cosplay too!
Misread the title as "Transforming Yasha into Elphaba!" and thought we were about to go on a boneharp musical crossover for the ages. 😂

Honestly? Same
"See your online spaces as your house, and think about who you let in." THANK YOU. So many times I've seen people say "well when you post something you should be ready for criticism always" and like... no? I post stuff to share my fandoms with other people who will appreciate it. I shouldn't have to be ready and on edge for people to try and tear it down all the time. edit: also you should test a character from she-ra! i have a personal bias toward Scorpia but whoever you can make work with the wigs and stuff you have!

ABSOLUTELY. The whole "what did you expect, posting it online?" thing always ticks me off. Just because people can be assholes doesn't mean we have to tolerate their assholery. We have mute & block tools for a reason!

"Well when you post something you should be ready for criticism always" Well that is a massive failure to appreciate context. That same critical attitude can be a virtue in scientific, medical or political spaces. But applying that to someone's artistic self-expression like you have a right to fact-check people's souls... that's just tolerating abuse.

Thank you! I'm working on animating the eyebrows but that wasn't happening for today, haha!
Honestly I don’t know why but when you were talking about Yasha’s skin, you legit sounded like Yasha! You are so cool and one of my favorite people to watch on KZread!
Dude your Yasha impression is spot on!!! And you really nailed the eye makeup. Even if you don't naturally look like Yasha, those are most definitely exactly her eyes!
The Traveler Allura Vicoren Regina George from Mean Girls Hedwig from Hedwig and the Angry Inch Vecna the Ascended I LOVE your voice as Elphaba and it would be so cool if you branched your channel into broadway a bit! :-) Keep up the INCREDIBLE videos!

At first glance, I thought you wanted her to cosplay an Owl.
I love the grit of Yasha's eye makeup. I dont know anything about Critical Role but i love when even small irregularities are put into a cosplay. It really makes them feel more alive and grounded in our world.
I love when you sing in videos
tip from my friend who cosplays yasha - she uses cream paints for the eyes first! it makes it a lot more vibrant :) you make a lovely yasha!! 💕

These turned out so well! I love how you look as Yasha, I know you said you don't normally cosplay characters with hecking cheekbones but you wear her so well! I would love to see you makeup test one of the ladies from The Darrington Brigade because they were such wild fun and I think you could bring any of them to life really well!

Seconded. Laura's awesome genasi monk who beat up The Owlbear first up would be great but my vote is for Tary.
Ginny I love you so much!!!! The book is *sooooooooo* different from the musical. Animal discrimination, religious tolerance, a spreading cult, sex, broken friendship, murder. DAMN that book is good.
Seconding some folks on Katara’s Painted Lady look, or the Painted Lady herself!
“Yasha isn’t straight, so why should her stripe be?” Gold, hahahahaha
Wait “I just wanna cosplay characters that beau finds attractive” just called me tf OUT with my jester and yasha plans 😅
Ginny: Does Yasha Ginny: Shows at least one entire gun YOUR BICEP DEFINITION IS AMAZING!
One thing's for certain... green screen shots with Elphaba are right out :D I think you did a fantastic job on both, and you pretty much nailed Yasha's voice

Characters like her are the reason bluescreens exist!! haha!
The amount of one liners in this, Arsequeef should gif these!
I love autumn orange! Thanks for showing us theses looks.
Your bit about negitave comments in your space is on point. You do you girl!
Came for the Yasha cosplay, stayed for the powerful message about treating your online space like your house. Wow. I needed that.
Yes!! You did a great job on both! I can’t wait to see what comes next!
This is awesome! I love how you talk through all your thinking about why you've made decisions about who to cosplay and who not to and your relationships with the characters and stories. Really neat to hear your insights on all of that!
omg Autumn Orange?? i love this, can’t wait!!
tip for getting super black eye looks to use something cream or gel based first, and then layering black eyeshadow on top to help make it matte. i've heard really good things about the nyx gel liner, or if you wanted to invest in a strong powder shadow, sugarpill "bulletproof" is to die for
ooooh everything about this was so great!! I don't normally watch makeup tutorials but your commentary and editing kept me hooked!! And both your Yasha voice and Elphaba singing were SUPER ON POINT 🙌🙌🙌
I've never cosplayed or done anything of the sorts, but listening to you talking so passionately about make-up, cosplay and the process of putting it on is just so satisfying. I love these kinds of videos, and I get to learn a little about just how much work is put into your job. An amazing video!
As someone trying to get into cosplay this is super nice for me.
What a treat, this was so lovely. You did a great job and I love hearing you sing
Just listening to you chat is so relaxing and nice. I love how you talked about both the make up and just...general things. It's fun! Also I think both tests turned out really cool!
I'm always so excited when you post, and this video was such a joy to watch! You look so wonderful as both Yasha and Elphaba
Love this, and your channel in general. Especially loved the house analogy. It’s interesting why people choose specific cosplays, and it cracks me up that for you Yasha is largely just a lazy cosplay. I get it, and I definitely have those too. But i get all excited about Yasha because I’m a powerlifter, so it’s one of the few roles where I feel reeeally well physically suited for it, and then become more confident in my cosplay because of that. I look goofy awkward trying more delicate looking characters. Would love a Yasha wig tutorial, cause you look great!
A really great bit on the contouring & tone, thank you it's a really clever way of doing it, i cant wait to use that technique. :) Thank you so much, & your singing sets you apart as well.
This was incredibly fun to watch! I would love more of these tests. You did a great job on both of these!
Absolutely loved the video! Keep having fun and being true to yourself. Much love to you Ginny.
Love you as Yasha, you're so fierce! And your insights and singing are spectacular as always. Can't wait to see the rest!
I closed my eyes when you did the Yasha Voice and its so on point!! Love It!!
These are both so good, I love your videos! Your Yasha impersonation was spot on.
Oh I was going to say beau. So I think maybe caleb? But the dirty caleb. My of my favourite yasha moments is her and caleb, and she goes to shave him with her great sword and he says: "Wait!!! This means we are friends?" 😂
I'd love to see a video about how you do makeup looks with hooded eyes!! I've always struggled to make things look right and your makeup always looks excellent!
These looks turned out so well! It's nice having you make conversation throughout the looks about your process/ideas/experience and really anything, it was fun to watch along. Plus I couldn't stop chuckling at how you looked with tape on your chin/mouth yelling out for Josh LMAO. Would love to see you attempt a makeup test for: Catra (from the recent remake of She-Ra) Persephone (from Lore Olympus) Inuyasha or Sesshomaru (from Inuyasha) Toph Beifong (A:TLA, I know you've done Katara so I wondered how you would tackle another female lead)
you're so interesting and open while you do these and even if you aren't that interested in the characters, the videos are awesome!
Also I love these! You looks so good as these characters! You're very talented!
These are amazing looks, and so fun to watch! Really love the house analogy too, it’s so important to remember.
:D I love you CR photo op in the background. It makes me smile!
I love your take on Elphaba! I'd love to see more of her in the future
Awesome video! I like how you narrate what you're doing and why.
I’d love to see Shego from Kim Possible! Could be interesting
You nailed Elphaba!! The singing was great! Love the musical (guess I'm basic too?? haha) and it was great seeing your take on her makeup and singing :) Also can't wait for the original song! Sounds amazing!!
This was so great! I would love to see a whole Broadway special cover songs sung by you Also, I love Autumn Orange! His lo fi it's practically my official quarantine soundtrack
This was incredible and the cosplays were so good! I'm always super jealous of your lashes because I can never find any that are thick and long like your ones. Honestly, it would be pretty great to see some more musical characters like maybe Veronica or Heather McNamara from Heathers? I think you'd really suit them and they have some amazing songs to sing as well!
Watching and wearing my Orphanmaker tee too! :D I have seen a lot of Yasha cosplay and would love to do one too... but I think you did a reallllly great job. As someone who loves your Jester I always wanted you to try Yasha so it was prettttty cool to watch how simple you made it seem :D
I loved the house analogy... it was beautiful and I want more people to know that. Thank you so much. I love your work and personality. Stay amazing please.
I love that hat! The green make-up looked spectacular!
Loved this. It really made me want to hear some Wicked covers from you. And you for sure can do Yasha! Once you were in the wig I thought you looked amazing.
As someone who's been in theatre most of her life; you're absolutely right about the comparison between cosplay and stage makeup. Because you're usually under very heavy lighting; it's important to go heavier on makeup to avoid looking washed out.
I, like you, have not been to many musicals, but I have seen Wicked, and love it. So, seeing you as Elphie, singing, gave me chills 🤩🤩🤩
Not only was your Yasha make-up test outstanding (which is no surprise 😉), but your Yasha voice was PERFECT! 😆I almost did a spit take when you did Ashley's voice, it was so good! And it goes w/out saying that your Elphaba was awesome as well.🤩 Great video all around, Ginny. Fascinating, from a complete non-cosplayer point of view, look into what goes into becoming the characters that you cosplay.😊
1) I was able to guess the Elphaba makeup test just based on the lips, so your eyeshadow hack clearly worked perfectly! 2) your perspective on what behavior is acceptable or tolerable in online spaces is really valuable. The fact that you sternly put your foot down and refuse to be mistreated shouldn't be such a breath of fresh air, but it is, and I hope that your firm stance encourages others to do the same.
your long blue hair is very pretty but i just wanted to say that the way u braided yr hair for the yasha makeup made me think u would also look incredibly cute with a pixie cut! 💕 also, i loved both of these, ty for posting!
Wow! Not only is the makeup fantastic, your singing incredible, and the tips so delightfully helpful, your random musings just tie it all together wonderfully. Mad respect for you and all that you do. Possible suggestions for part 2/3: Kida from atlantis, captain amelia from treasure planet, OR anything in a cell-shaded style (like borderlands, scanner darkly). Have seen interesting cross-overs between IPs using that style so one doesn't have to be limited to the BL IP, any comic or cartoon could work. Just thoughts, always love your content and what shines through. Thank you.
Love love the yasha costest, you rocked her look and with that photo you uploaded on insta of you as yasha screaming 😍😍 idk Wicked, but i like how you love it so much, will def be adding to my list of musicals to watch 😂😂
I mean... the cosplays are AWESOME and you are perfect on them, but the little tip about our online space being our house and we should choose who we let in and be respectful of other people's spaces, is just so brilliant, wise and empathetically perfect, that my comment is about it! you rock, Ginny. you awesome genius! thanks! the internet is better because of you.
I think they both lookes absolutely sick, good job.
I don't have a suggestion for another costest but for making your eye makueup super dark I would recommend using Mykie/Glam&Gore's smokey eyes tutorial. She uses a black pencil under the black eyeshadow so make it super dark and it works really well.
I love that you did Elphaba! I have NEVER seen the musical, but have read the book and am obsessed!
I love your lashes, they make your eyes pop so much. I don't have the longest lashes so I say use what you can to make your eyes more prominent! I love your channel, I have not done cosplay before but I desperately want to. :)
Your Elphaba performance gave me goosebumps. I have never seen Wicked, I might have to make that a priority.
This is so cool! A suggestion based on my experience is to put eyeshadow primer or concealer on your eyelids and below, it really makes the eyeshadow vibrant and pop. I also think if you brought Yasha's contour around and towards the side of the nose a bit it would emphasize and chisel your cheekbones a bit more; but just a suggestion. Love your work Ginny.
Dammit I’m late. This is so interesting! Especially as I’m just starting! Just a thank you through quarantine! You’re literally the person who inspired me to get into it!
To get the super black eyemakeup, your best bet is to use black cream eyeshadow, and set it with black powder shadow which you can then blend the edges of to get the smokey lines
A tip for black eye shadow is to either damped the drush slightly before dipping into the shadow or add black liner almost like an eyeshadow primer.
Love your honesty when talking Ginny D. Looking forward to the next 2 cos-tests. 😁
What a happy coincidence that you do a costest of Elphaba whilst I have been on a Wicked rebound! Ever heard Jessica Vosk's rendition of Elphaba? It makes me tear up every time! 🤩
I loved the singing! These looks came out so great
The way you said "I smell like a crayon," was PERFECT. And DAMN that Wizard and I tag, like hello I already knew you were a great singer, but your intonation, control, cadence, flavor, acting, everything about it was *chef's kiss*
YOU LOOK AMAZING. Also what the heck, you can sing too? Damn. You are mega talented. Kudos to you! I was super happy when I saw the Elphie preview. ;u; Wicked is the best musical ever and no one can tell me otherwise.

Oh man, you must be new here!! Make sure to check out my music videos playlist, I have a lot of full song covers and parodies on this channel!
It took my friend convincing me to do a Yasha cosplay for her Nott for me to really appreciate her as a character, and now she's right up near the top of the list for me. Bounding Yasha at Disneyland earlier this year, and the bold make-up with a less exaggerated chin stripe was, actively life-changing. Like, just a giant confidence boost for someone that doesn't usually wear any make-up. Your Yasha voice is on point, just like the clip you put on Insta, very well could be mistaken for you just lip-syncing to Ashley. I'll also second some Avatar tests. Can't wait to see the video for the song! I vaguely remember listening to a love song clip(?) on Patreon and loving it, so can't wait to see the finished product.
That was both fascinating to listen to and fun to watch! I know you were unsure about them but I think you nailed them both! As to others ... goodness ... um ... you'd make an amazing Dread Pirate Roberts :D but also Toph (but you may have done her already?) - seriously, am just excited to see what comes next! Thank you for sharing, and stay safe, please
Those both rocked. You nailed Yasha's voice and attitude/mannerisms. The singing reminded me more of Kristin Chenoweth actually (which is a compliment - she's amazing!) The house analogy gave me a moment of ptsd, as my mom has come into my home and done almost exactly what you described....repeatedly. But I will forgive the shudder moment, because you talking with scotch tape on your lower lip was both hilarious and adorable. ;)
Nice! You should definitely keep booting out people who only come to criticize. I worked for 10 years in a legitimate theater and I’d say that your makeup and costuming chops are superb! I’m looking forward to seeing more of your skills on display. 👍🏼🤘🏼✌️
Beautiful makeup tests! I learned a lot. I'd like to second some suggestions for Katara or another character from ATLA. Also Keg would be amazing. XD
You have a mad max vibe in Yasha.I love it.
For black eye makeup it's really helpful to go in with a dark base try the nyx jumbo pencil or a gel liner and then set it with black shadow
I love your Yasha! My ideas for characters to makeup test: -Lilith and/or Maya from the Borderlands series -Seventh Sister from Star Wars: Rebels -Rabbit from Steam Powered Giraffe (I have no idea how complex you're going for or what you're even into but I think these would be cool.) Love you're videos and your lashes. :)
A tip for black eye shadow is to wet the brush! It’ll make it apply on darker!! I used that hack when I used to do full black eye makeup daily with cheap drugstore eyeshadow
HOLY SHIT 18:02 like, Ginny, I know you can sing and this still took my breath away! that’s not an easy song, especially without music. Like. Wow. I’m so impressed all the time. 10/10 would love to hear more of u singing wicked haha Like FUCKING heck I can’t get over how perfect ur tone is like omgggg.
Okay the part with the eyelashes made me hit like, just the "cause I fucking like 'em". Gosh darn goals
I love everything about this video.

Amazing !
I like the Yasha makeup and wig. In the future if you do Yasha cosplay again I’d love to see a full cosplay with clothes and a sword, she’s my favorite character because the super strong Barbarian, toughest member of the group being a socially awkward introvert is the cutest thing to me.
Killed it!
Pretty cool to see the process. One character I've always liked is Chiana from Farscape. Which I think you'd look good portraying.
