Are Epoxy Floors Prone to Scratches? Unveiling the Truth!
Epoxy resin is a highly durable and tough product that effectively resists scratches. While it's important to note that it's not entirely scratch-proof (even natural stone floors and countertops can get scratched), Stone Coat concrete floors offer exceptional scratch resistance. Discover the benefits of scratch-resistant epoxy resin for your surfaces.
The Durable Wonder: How Long Does Epoxy Flooring Last?
Epoxy flooring durability varies by application. In high-traffic areas like kitchens and garages, it can last for years. In homes and bathrooms, epoxy concrete floors can last a decade or more. Discover the benefits for your needs!
The Allure of Concrete Epoxy Flooring: Is it the Perfect Fit for Your Home?
Yes! Epoxy floors are great for homes. Epoxy is highly customizable, allowing people to achieve their dream home look. Plus, they last a long time.
Do Epoxy Concrete Floors Crack or Peel?
Generally, an epoxy concrete floor will not crack or peel. However, improper preparation or bad product may cause the epoxy to peel. Epoxy floors will crack if the foundation cracks. As long as your home is stable and your floor prep is thorough, your floors will stand the test of time.
The Ultimate Guide: Epoxy Flooring Costs Unveiled!
A DIYer can epoxy a floor for only a few dollars per square foot. Of course the desired look for your project will effect the cost as well. Some pigments, metallic powders, and paints are more expensive than others

    I, too, loved the cartwheel! I love the idea of the floor more than the final result, though. I think it is too "busy" and will be difficult to decorate around without losing the decorations in the busy-ness. But the innovation to solve the issues of scale ? Great stuff!

    How did you get the primer coat to be that opaque?? Everytime i've done a primer coat it's translucent... So I've had to use a sherwin william primer (for epoxy) and coat the floor 3 times... but it's still paint and my spikes leave a few poke throughs you can see... The ultimate top coat is harder than the mid coat? Longer dry time as well? Critique: You didn't remove the toilets when doing the bathroom... trying to pull those toilets to replace them is going to be a huge pain... hopefully the epoxy isn't stuck too well and won't chip or peel when you pull it up. Also, many toilets have a different footprint, so a new toilet may not cover... Floor looks absolutely amazing, though!! Fantastic job!

    How do you keep people from slipping? Is there an additive that can be added to keep people from falling?

  • @StoneCoatCountertops

    @StoneCoatCountertops

    3 ай бұрын

    To enhance safety and prevent slipping on epoxy-coated floors, an anti-slip additive can be mixed into the final top coating before application or sprinkled over the surface before the top coat sets. These additives increase the traction of the finished surface, making it safer to walk on, especially when wet. We sell a clear quartz sand. The Flooring Ultimate Top Coat used is also very slip resistant naturally. Ken has had folks dancing with wet shoes because its pouring outside with no issues. I have the UTC installed over my epoxy marble in my walk in closet, it works great and I haven't slipped once even with wet feet.

    How much does something like this cost? I like the look and have wanted to do epoxy flooring when I build a new house, I'm looking at a 1500sq ft house and the garage will be about the same so 3000 total, but the house would be something like this while the garage would be something with a texture. If it was cheaper to do it all the same that would work

  • @StoneCoatCountertops

    @StoneCoatCountertops

    If you decide to hire a pro, the cost for the project would be around $14-19 per square foot. However, if you choose to go the DIY route with Stone Coat DIY Epoxy Flooring, the materials would only cost you approximately $5-7 per sqft. U GOT THIS!

    About 20 years ago l planned to have artist design epoxy flooring . Knowing that I've always had a problem with aromas - perfumes, petrol, adhesives, oil based paints etc ; l had a small preliminary frame made. After 2 weeks of airing etc l still couldn't handle the residual smell . If you are sensitive, best to sample test as it's an expensive mistake.

    We probably should have removed it, but Ken wouldn't let me. I reluctantly followed orders. Don't worry, it'll never leak! Thanks for watching!

    Concrete is prone to cracking, and the presence of saw cuts and wet set expansion joints directs the concrete to crack in those specific areas. Thanks for stopping by!
