If I had to do the bifold doors, I would have thrown a temper tantrum and toss the doors in the trash. It sure does take a LOT of patience and trial and error to get it to FIT in the tracks and not be crooked from top to bottom. Good job Louis and Edd!!!!!!!!!!

I enjoyed when you PRETENDED you installed the door reversed. Years ago I needed a new Keyed locking door assembly for my Kindergarten back door. That was the door the children used to go outside to play. The school had to call a special installer from the Bd of Ed to come and change out the assembly. He came to my room with a very arrogant attitude, like I was wasting his time, and one two three changed it out, and was about to leave, without trying the door. I said, would you please let me try it before you leave. Sure enough, the door was locked from inside the classroom and we couldn’t GET OUT unless we used the key. But anyone could open it from outside and get in!! He wasn’t a very happy camper, changing it out to the correct way, as if somehow someone else did that to him, and it wasn’t his mistake. Attitude is everything!!! You need a sense of humor to enjoy life. 😊😂🎉

That was a nail biting episode! The doors being in really push the renovation forward. Wonder why the door manufacturers don’t send the doors in pieces in the first place with better installation instructions or even an online video. Love Louie’s running commentary with the gestures especially when you found the hinges in the pocket of the bag.

Hey Anna & Edd, You will benefit from a set of cheap air bladder lifts to set doors in the future. We use them all the time in our shop. Works just like a pressure cuff you use to check blood pressure. Slip both under the bottom of a door your either removing or hanging they pump them up. Makes it easy to hang doors! Best, Brian

The first leaf should always be fully opened back into the clip at the top that holds it, before sliding the second and third leaf open. This protects the frame and hinge pins from too much load. Some have a catch mechanism in that clip that prevents the first Leaf pulling away as the others open.

When you first started hanging the door I was thinking "Ed top hinge first" and then you started again and did it that way haha. I also find with these if you pin the top hinge and close the door it is easier to jiggle the other hinge pins in. Also easier for the other person to support.

I had a set in the art room of the school I worked in. I only opened it once ie when I first moved in as a new build, never used them ever as it was facing the direction of the prevailing winds and the papers would blow around or it would let fly birds etc in. The architect who designed the buildings sure got it wrong by placing this bifold in the configuration it was place in Also it got sand in and it was totally pointless for an art room with 32 kids to control. .I love the determination ,both you Ed and Louie had in getting it in . ❤ Its great that where you have it has a great purpose and makes sense. ❤

No need to separate the doors, just support the second and third door on blocks of wood, then first door. This will make all 3 doors at the correct height. Offer up the first door to the wall and attach. All 3 doors are then attached.

Not a pro and you got them installed, so bravo. However, the proper way to open and close these types of bifold doors is to open the single door and latch it against the second door. You can see the latch at the top of door 1 and door 2. Once they are latched, you can unlock the lock on doors 2 and 3 and swing it all the way open. To close you do the reverse. Close 3 and 2 and lock them in place, the unlatch doors 2 and 1 and close and lock door 1. This prevents the weight of door 1 from pulling down on the upper track. Also looks like you need to do a few more minor adjustments to the door so it is level all around and double check the frame mounting screws.
