Mark Espera For the matter of fact, Jazz should be even smaller than what Hasbro&Takara gave us. You can just go back and check the first movie’s scene where Megatron held him on his hands and ripped him apart. Jazz didn’t even reach the crotch area of Megatron while standing. Jazz was shorter than Bumblebee in the first movie, and bumblebee just literally reached the crotch area of Optimus while standing. So yeah, Jazz was and should be extremely small. Thence, Hasbro&Takara scale him decently well with the other figures tho.

Are you serious dude? He’s so movie accurate, especially when compared to the previous ones. And you didn’t really have him transformed all that great, some parts needed to be moved around a bit. I have the figure and I think he’s one of my favorite deluxes so far!

@@venticocean8664 its a tad short at the head, since he's 18 feet tall in the movie to Bumblebee who is roughly 17 feet, but even then this figure for it's size is easily one of if not the best Barricade figure.

Was not expecting that. All the intricate detail,mold and paint make him the most screen accurate version to date along side the mpm version.

@@lolstuffenjoy9880 ok sure, it's your opinion, but looks can be deceiving. The most important part is you enjoy it for whatever it is. But if you don't enjoy and had the figure, that's where the problem starts kicking in.

I think you probably got spoiled by the actual front end of the car becoming Barricade's chest. Here, it seems that the hood is now part of the backpack, which is an odd choice (does the MPM version do that!?) Doesn't help that his head seems way too big here, and the smaller chest dies it no favors. The arms were ALWAYS long & lanky, because they were pretty much almost the entire sides of the car. The legs? Hmm. Looks like they added an extra joint in the knees to give him the chicken leg style of standing...but I don't think *any* of the previous Barricade figures did that. As for size...he actually is supposed to be around the same size as Bumblebee. But I think they're both a smidge too short, because they should both be significantly bigger than Jazz - pretty sure Jazz was the smallest of the 2007 cast (EXCLUDING the lil' accessory critters Frenzy & Scorponok). Worse than DotM or TLK Barricade? I'm not seeing that...TLK Barricade was just a bad idea, a bad redesign, and a lousy switch of car model. Could it use extra paint? Absolutely, the sawblades need to be painted silver or just a gray plastic piece sammiched in the black centerpiece that holds it together. And the windshield components (along with the rest of the clear plastic) should've been a darker color, just to be a LITTLE stronger...ex.: that glorious light piping dark blue they used for Reveal the Shield Jazz's windows. Tons of clear plastic they painted over? PotP Jazz did this nonsense, as did Year of the Goat Masterpiece Soundwave (and his Minions) & G2 Laser Optimus, as well as the old TRU exclusive "The Scan" series versions of RotF Bee, RotF Deluxe Ratchet, and HftD Deluxe Ironhide. So that doesn't do any favors, either. Is it a weak entry? For Studio Series, definitely...this seems like an undercooked potato that should've gotten several more passes through the design, material selection, & painting phases. But they haven't topped the hot mess of the SS01 76 Camaro Bee (which was apparently WORSE than the TLK 2016 Camaro Bee it was retooled from)...yet. That said, because my personal choice of Movie Bumblebee - the HftD Battle Blade Bumblebee, which reigns as The King of Fighters - already says "screw the rules" in terms of scale (he's on par with Voyagers from DotM onward), I'd probably need either the 2007, Masterpiece Movie, or even Human Alliance versions of Barricade.

@@chefatron I only ever considered getting the Bumblebees from that line and nothing else. The Jazz will be a must buy though. That Studio Series figure was just so fantastic. In all fairness Barricades complex design kinda screwed up the Transformation from being fun. Jazz had a simple design so that was gonna be fun no matter what. I hope the Masterpiece is just as good if not better.

This comment section is just absurd, honestly. I dont get whats all the hate for. Its a video review, and you did a fantastic job at that, you didnt like the figure. So what? Its your video and you're entitled to your personal opinion, if people dont agree with you, they can either click away or just say they disagree, the hate directed towards you for not liking a figure is just so immature and absurd. i think this is probably a more accurate looking barricade than the previous incarnations except MPM and human alliance because those two are very accurate. anyway, i think you should look at the figure up close and personal when you see it physically. then make a decision. i chose to keep this one because i made a decision to complete the SS line.

The figure is amazing and he’s police car mode is amazing too I remember the old ones having lines on the car mode but this one is so clean 10/10 for the figure for the video 3/10

So..., his hand saw becomes a roomba in his alt mode.

The good for my Barricade, came off same day delivered to me, anyway I can fix it? It stays on for a little bit after I put it on but it just Sways and really lose. I don’t know a solution, I thought of superglue or something but I don’t think it would move anymore. Any solutions?

To say Barricade should be just below the chin of Megatron is so wrong. Barricade in the movie is only 15 feet, to where ROTF Megatron was 35 feet

While I still like how this toy looks, I get what you mean. 2007 Barricade had this menacing physique, while this one just looks like his younger, skinny brother.

Great review! The main thing that turns me off about the figure is the lack of paint, it's just kinda...dull. Also, I don't get why they couldn't use transparent plastic for the headlights in car mode; or at least paint the thing silver like the first movie deluxe (not asking for much here...). Again, I feel like the foundations for a good figure is there, but the execution for the final product just doesn't quite reach the bar.

@@chefatron I haven't aquired it yet but looking at reviews from other transformer toy reviewers it seems like a solid figure and also I wasn't able to pick up the original or the masterpiece due to a tight budget and the reason I want to have this in my collection is that I brought the TLK version and I was very disappointed in that toy so yeah. I understand you don't like it the main issue being the size but they are all getting smaller and in my opinion when I was young the transformers I had were very large and they were difficult to transform that is the only reason I can come up with to explain the decrease in size especially for a high prize for soming that is so small

Storage weapons in vehicle mode is stupid when I buy my studio series figures I leave the weapons in the packaging because the figures are better without it.

Honestly really surprised you dissed this poor figure so hard, in my opinion he's one of the better studio series so far!! Extremely movie accurate and the size is almost spot on, I'll agree he should've a LITTLE bit bigger but not by much, I'm eagerly awaiting my pre order of this guy bbts!!

Wow. The worst Barricade figure ever? I just got this one today and think it's superb and vastly superior to the DotM figure and clearly the pretty awful 2007 figure. Only issue I'm having with it is the chest isn't tabbing with the waist properly so I may have to fix that but the robot mode is extremely accurate in sculpt, shapes and scale. One of the best Deluxes ever made in any TF series in my opinon. I think it's great. Grimlock is my least fave Studio figure (or SS38 Optimus may be cos I hate that G1 design but the figure looks like it does represent it well so technically it's well made) cos it's too small, it's only got one hand, and that hand is way too visible in dino mode and that weird skirt thing kept flopping down in dino mode. I replaced it with the Black Mamba one which fixed all those issues and towers above everybody else as he should. I was a bit down about Blackout but it was mainly the hands cos I've got articulated hands on him now from Shockwave Labs and he's a lot more fun now. :D

I don't understand people trashing you for your opinion, especially when they're watching your video to get your opinion. It's crazy. Barricade should be a tiny bit shorter than bumblebee and this is really,really well done for a low price deluxe figure of a bayverse design so obviously I don't agree with your opinion objectively but subjectively I'm not really a fan of any of the barricade releases including the masterpiece version. He seemed imposing/menacing in the 2007 movie and all the figures as accurate or inaccurate as the cgi model are all look goofy to me. It's probably because its a goofy looking bot to begin with but the angles he was shown at/in within the film made him look cool. Personal taste and feelings aside this is one of the better studio series figures overall and among the best deluxe class ss figures so far and a great example of why people should ultimately make up their own minds and not let anyone dictate to them what's worth picking up or not.

Honestly, I can't help but feel like I agree with you Chefatron. I might get him, but I'm 90% sure I'll pass. This Barricade is too short, the face sculpt is okay, and my main gripe is the unpainted headlights. That got me big time. I like the Human Alliance Barricade so much more still.

Really? I have this figure, it’s fun, it looks like the movie model, and it’s in scale I don’t get your problems with it.

I'm a bit late but I don't care if someone will attack me for my comment. I actually prefer the first 2 Barricade (2007 and DOTM) over this and the TLK Barricade (is that even Barricade?). Barricade is my number 1 favorite decepticon and this figure is just bad. I guess I'll stick with the DOTM.

The alt mode is very nice, but yes the robot mode is very sucky. Too short and too skinny. He should of been the same size as Studio Series Lockdown, that would of looked a whole lot better.

When 10 dollars use to buy me double the figure, I just cant help but feel cheated. The fact that these figures were 75% off there original value in Gamestops was the ONLY justifiable way I'd purchase these figures says alot.

PR0R00K363 I got my Barricade on sale Amazon for like $15 and I think that’s a fair price. I had Beast Wars, TF Armada, and other lines growing up, and although I didn’t buy them, I always thought Deluxe beast wars figures, for example, were 12.99-$15 range. But I agree, $20 starting base price for Deluxes is too much.

I agree with Chefatron, I actually prefer my Movie1 toy more... Sure, they went for a more screen accurate aesthetic, but they captured it shittily. He’s lanky, his paint apps obscure detail and make imperfections pop more than the better parts of this figure, I agree that he is decently screen accurate, but he honestly looks anorexic, and barricade to me is basically a body builder/bouncer with a police car attached to him. This figure looks malnurished

Uh the first deluxe looks super skinny too. Super thin crappy arms with fingers you can't even see because the bumpers hide them.

andreyofdoom Sure, this is very true, and I’m not saying the first release is the Holy Grail Of movie Barricades, but I prefer the bulk and heft to the original toy, which I’ve owned since 2007 and it’s been heavily played with and every single joint is still tight, it doesn’t feel like it’s going to break when I transform it and it sure doesn’t look like they put him on a diet OH, AND it came with Frenzy. This figure is more poseable... The vehicle mode is nice, but incredibly tedious to get everything to “click” together, the older toys transformed smoothly and everything had a tab and it’s own place, nowadays some of these figures rely on Gravity and pure luck to fit properly and that to me is garbage lazy engineering, and not worth $19.99 (USD) Just my opinion though

@@nomnomburrito27 thanks for the reply. Now we almost pay twice as much for figures half the size... The issue with some of these Bay designs are that to make them accurate it makes it harder to keep them solid as the designs are very complicated.

andreyofdoom This is also true and unfortunately unavoidable, the Bayverse made these guys monumentally intricate and advanced, which is easy on a screen but not as a physical thing. I appreciate that Hasbro even attempts to do these movie figures, given some are just so hard to capture accurately, in BOTH modes for that matter

This guy adores this figure, he refuses to put it down and even sleeps with it..... NOT! LOL!
