Actually this Soundwave was really short compared to Megatron and Starscream. I re-watched a clip of the Africa scene in Dark of the Moon, and his SS toy is pretty much dead-on with his on-screen height. Don't forget Soundwave is a Mercedes Benz SLS AMG, while Megatron is a Mack Titan with a trailer. If he was only the tractor unit, he might be a bit shorter, but since he has the trailer, that gives him more height. Plus Megatron doesn't walk with as much of a bend in his legs like he did in Revenge of the Fallen. Also Soundwave has no visor in Dark of the Moon. He only has one in Revenge of the Fallen like you kind of stated latter.

For the height comparison between Soundwave and Megs, I always bend Megatron’s legs to make him almost as short as possible. It puts him at around the same size as the other voyager Megatron figures and helps him scale better with other figures. Love your reviews by the way. Have a great day man.

Megatron has standard anthropomorphic legs until they put constructicon parts on him and then he has chicken legs until resurrection so he should have the chicken legs as dotm megs but considering he’s being repaired he’s possibly cannibalized parts for himself and possibly added more height I like the idea that megatron consumes other parts and mutates into a new creation

@1:23 Soundwave in the DotM film never had a visor. (His eyes were completely visible) I think the original Deluxe Class DotM Soundwave & Human Alliance Soundwave had visors to resemble more of a G1 look.

He had a visor on for split seconds in a few scenes. One was in the background fighting Bee before dieing.

At 5:18 you sound so annoyed about how you couldn't spread the legs outward and it made me laugh for some reason lol

I’ll forever love the g1 soundwave design And bumblebee soundwave is 2nd but this is definitely 3rd he’s such a nice figure

Soundwave got a satellite version coming on SS-65!!!

His height to megs is right. Soundwave was 16 feet (4.9m) Megs was 35 feet (10.6m)

Soundwave is my favorite transformer, so I’m trying to get a Soundwave collection. I have Masterpiece G1 Soundawave, RID deluxe Soundwave, and Transformers Animated deluxe Soundwave. This studio series figure will be an excellent addition to my collection.

TF: Studio Series DOTM Soundwave looks very cool. And it's neat that he has his little assassin Laserbeak as well. Thought, I do wish that he and his pet bird would have some more colors, like their original DOTM figures. But what lacks in colors, is made up for with the improved sculpted details, they're more screen acurate and more improved upon from his original DOTM figures. I too, believe that Soundwave should be a bit taller then he is now, so maybe a ROTF Studio Series figure of him might fit that. -Also if the Studio Series toyline does release him again as Soundblaster, then I hope he has his silver/black/yellow colors(just like the TF: Siege toy) and come with his two blaster weapons.

Great review, I'm looking forward to the ROTF Studio Series Soundwave, I really liked that satellite alt mode.

I love this Soundwave design, it looks good, the car looks great, the transformation doesn't look hard, and anything else that is good on the figure. One problem is his size inaccuration. But still definitely looking forward on buying this figure.

He looks excellent, wish there was a little paint on lazerbeak, but that's a minor complaint, cant wait to pick him up

Soundwave scale quite excellent. He was really short compared to Megatron

It’s like 90% fake parts tho which is a damn shame bc consideing how many hound molds we have this could’ve been an almost perfect figure it also seems like they’ve scrapped the wings which is fucking movie accurate and people complained so they won’t care or notice i don’t understand why a plate is more appealing to people than wings even if they’re not accurate wings just look better lol

Already got this guy in my Pile of Loot in BBTS. 😄Just gotta ship him home. ☺Can't wait to get a hold of him, he looks sick. I only wish he had some blue highlights on his soundspeakers/emitters and at least have one of his blasters.

I veryyy recently acquired this figure. I have not had any problems with the window popping off, or the headlight ball joints. I admit the clearence isnt the best but i thankfully managed it. The figure is amazing. Im sad i could only get one, but the 2007 camaro bee and the arcee triplets were at my local target. I do plan to acquire them soon if i can

He looks amazing. I am not a big fan of ko oversize, most if the time it's unnecessary but this guy would be amazing if wei Jiang did a ko

I love soundwave, I don't collect SS but this would go great with my g1 and siege soundwave. Best studio series fig of all time

I found out that if you use the tab on lazer beak than you can plug it into sound waves wheels to make it look like laser beam is on his shoulder

Megatron would look slightly more in scale if you fully bend the lower knees forward and the upper knees slightly back (chicken-leg style) and hunch him over. DOTM Megatron isn't really designed to be fully upright. Anyways that would only improve the scale slightly. Also, good review and this is definitely a superior movie Soundwave figure!

All these studio series figures look awesome

For DOTM Megatron, your supposed to have the knees bent as much as possible. Like, the bottom joint is supposed to be bent forward as far as it will go, and the top must be set back 3 clicks.

I can’t wait to see what they do with the RotF Soundwave. A satellite being his Alt Mode is perfect. Not another expensive sports car. And I do hope they bring some of the dark blue in his RotF verion. I hate how boringly grey Soundwave is in DotM.

I only saw Soundwave once at Wal-Mart and glad I got him.

Yeah looking back at this, the reason why Megatron is so big is that his legs are straightened out way more so that's why he's so tall. Also looking at a size chart. Megatron is 35' and Soundwave is 16'. From the pictures from the same chart he's about to his knees if not a little bit over.

1:15 yea he did look like this no face plate, and the human alliance I remember it having a opening and closing mouth

I need this next to my Siege Soundwave and DOTM Laserbeak

Great review as always but yes Soundwave scale is correct when compared to Megatron.....it looked different due to the fact Megatron was hunched over in DOTM....and his head is on point he does have eyes in DOTM. The visor was in RotF not DOTM

Only downside to all the silver paint is that it scratches somewhat easy

Great instruction, made it so much easier than following the printed manual.

I got soundwave , his designs are really good but like those two pieces of the headlights are a pain to rotate I can't even manage to turn them, but as for the speakers I decided to add the blue and repaint on him and Lazer beak as to the movie.

I wonder if the old deluxe's mech-tech gun is compitable with this one..?

Changing Soundwave could be similar to the Studio Series Barricade that came out around when the first movie came out. A lot of similarities when transforming the two

I honestly would’ve preferred a voyager ROTF Soundwave with Laserbeak, Ravage and Frenzy they you could fit in his torso

I don’t know why the human alliance Soundwave was so unliked. I know people had issues with the tiny legs and feet but I thought it was amazing. The transformation is outstanding and the design was great. I loved all the different colors and paint apps too. This is a decent figure but the Human Alliance version is still my favie.

hi i recently bought this figure, did anyone have any problem rotating the hood for the vehicle? i can't completely rotate it and looks weird in vehicle mode, idk if anyone knows about a fix for this

On his chest, right under the bumper, there’s a small face that I cannot unsee.

Soundwave only had a visor in his revenge of the fallen design, with dark of the moon his eyes were just really close together

if you go back and watch dark of the Moon Megatron his legs are actually supposed to be that like double knee insect looking thing like a lot of the other decepticons and if you bend his legs like that he fits really well in scale with everything

the scale between megatron and soundwave is perfect

there is one thing I'd like to point out.. The chest design for the other soundwave is more movie accurate, and as for the SS wave, theres nothing covering the grill for the chest part. just figured i'd say it.

I know the vid is old but my copy it fell few times and the paint looks weird now. The headlights bits used to pop off on mine but since i haven't used it in months it became less a problem

I just wish the figure more paint and articulation , same for lazerbeak also soundwave should come with a gun . But it's still a good figure.

That scale of megatron and soundwave is actually accurate

I have a problem with my soundwave, the trunk won't stay together, I don't know what to do with this problem, so, but I like it anyways.

to be honest for the instructions to transform him I think they should have done it the exact way you did it unless I might have messed it up, but I did by accident break i piece of him while trying to transform him and I am still upset about this but honestly this is a really good review.

I think I'm going to get scavenger for Christmas but soundwave looks cool tho

In terms oh height comparison, Megatrons legs are fully extended in the review however they should be fully bent at all the angles, when properly positioned, all of the SS Megatron figures are the same height.

You need to work on transforming him from vehicle mode to robot mode again soon

Soundwave's a short, stout and lovable guy.

I got this today but I accidentally broken 2 of the same bits off, don't affect the transformation, they are part of the door part and I think it's because of the waist part not being diagonal like on the video.

Any one figured out any weapons that he could hold with out it being floppy and fall out?

This is easily my most anticipated figure within the wave. My only qualm is that he does not include a blaster.
