The way I understood it when Hemsworth was originally cast as Orion Pax they explained that he it's almost like he's a different character. That the events from these movies will be what forged him into what being Worthy of a Prime. That the Peter Cullen voice of Prime is the hardened grizzled vet, where as Hemsworth's version of Orion Pax is younger, naive, raw, inexperienced. That the Hemsworth to Cullen, is wait for it wait it, a transformation LoL.

2:17 "We stand here together, as one" Started out as Chris' voice and transitioned (or should I say transformed) into Peter's voice. Fully Peter's voice when he said "one".

optimus/orion is fully voiced by Chris here. Chris worked with Cullen to do the voice, so that's why it sounded a bit deeper

@@MarkCosens Wouldn't make sense to just change optimus' voice mid sentence. Like I said, Chris worked with Cullen to do the voice for the whole movie. Why would Cullen do the extra work to teach Chris the voice if he was still voicing optimus in the end ? I can see Cullen do the voice for future prime in like a post credit scene, but it wouldn't make sense to change it mid sentence

I think that is what is happening. You can hear Peter's voice when he says "as one", it switched from Chris to Peter's voice.

alittle correction, G1 cartoon, cybertron itself was a factory, Transformers were created by the Quintessons as 2 product lines, military hardware (Decpticons) consumer goods(Autobots) G1 cartoon Unicron was created by a little scientist creature named Primacron, Primus/Unicron crashing into an asteriod thats from the G1 comics. and lastly whenever Unicron makes an appearance in whatever Transformers universe/ continuity (G1/Beast wars, Armada/Energon/Cybertron etc) , hes the same Unicron from the G1 comic . D16 is an easter egg to Megatrons desigation model # in the Japanese G1 toyline, D stood for Destrons, C stood for Cybertrons(Autobots)

You said that Peter Cullen is the only one to have voiced Optimus Prime since the Transformers began. That's not accurate. Alan Tudyk voiced Prime in "Transformers Earthspark, (2022. - present)." Gary Chalk voiced Prime in "Transformers Armada (2002)," "Transformers Energon (2004)," and "Transformers Cybertron, (2005)" and David Kaye voiced Prime in "Transformers Animated (2007-2009)," respectively. Plus there were one or two more. One of the big things about Michael Bay's 2007 film was that it marked Peter Cullen's return to Transformers to voice Optimus for the first time since the generation one cartoon series and animated movie from 1984-1987.

After many years we're finally getting a Transformers movie without any humans in it. Seeing Young Optimus and Megatron (Orian Pax and D-16) is something I wanted to see before they became enemies, cannot wait for this movie!

I think Peter is supposed to be the younger voice of Prime/Pax and he's a teen right now and Megatron is probably just became a adult or close and he probably gets a more Megatrony voice, like we all wanted to know what they sounded like when they were younger

Interesting fact: Orion Pax in the G1 cartoon was voiced by Laurie Faulso

The robot with the decepticon logo mask that D-16 looks at could possibly be Tarn. Edit: it’s not tarn, it might be Megatronus the Fallen as Tarn was made after D-16 becomes Megatron.

Thought Megatron was a military bot not a worker bot originally?

In the g1 cartoon yeah definitely. in the comics, tf prime, idw and most modern media he's a miner that due to part of the caste system (whatever your body type you have dictated your job) he was a miner by force. In others a gladiator on top of that, in one story I think he was a senator or something man has a full resume lol.

Peter Cullen is still in the movie when they make the full transition to Optimus prime,but Chris is obviously Orion Pax.

There is only one Prime voice for all of us fans!:)

As a transformer fans born in 82 and a collector of all things TF this is worse than MB movies !!!!! When I first saw Optimus Prime transform on screen I cried and it was one of the greatest things in my life. This on the other hand isn’t going to make fans like me very happy

Yeah that's the problem, this is a franchise with a deep fanbase and deep layers of lore. It just feels hollow and cheap kinda like they did with TMNT robbing it of it's soul. I would rather they just took existing comics and Televise that. I don't need a new transofrmers story, I need the ones told animated.

I liked only 1 and 3 of the Bayverse. I understand how you feel, but this is made for a younger audience. I know we all wanted the film to have the same tone as the Aligned continuity like Prime and the Cybertron games and the IDW comics, but we should be at least glad there are no humans. The movies not out yet.

Bro, a scene of Ultron and Primus transforming in our solar system: Primus body tackles Ultron out of/away from our solar system and into the expanse of empty space, and as they start fighting our solar system flies off in the distance.. dots of planets appearing to spiral around our sun as the system fades to look like a shooting star, continuing on it's way towards the great attractor

The movie looks like so much fun they have a great voice cast hard to believe that this is only the second time Transformers got a theatrical animated movie the first one being back in the 80s

Their voices took a bit of time to get used to. However, after watching the trailer too many times. I can hear a bit of Frank Welker’s Megatron in Brian Tyree Henry’s voice. Same with Chris Hemsworth’s Prime. The Peter Cullen influence is clearly there. They really do sound like the younger versions of their respective characters.

in the original continuity, The Quintessons (Quint a sawns) built Cybertron as an industrial-city planet that built service robots to sell across the universe. Primus was the name of the mainframe computer that controlled the factory.....the 2 most popular lines of robots were the Service Bots and the Military Bots.......one day Alpha Trion (Alpha TRY ON) because sentient and lead an uprising to drive the Quintessons off Cybertron and freed the robot slave race they had created.....Eventually the Military Bots wanted to rule and became the Decepticons....They Service Bots became the Autobots.....every faction later branched from those 2....Maximals, Predaticons, Inceticons, Constructicons, Computrons, Terrorcons and many others

dude shockwave used to have a normal face untill a sort of injury dont remember what happened to shockwave hes basically loses his original face and was forced into the one that he has in modern day

Depends on the canon, in G1 we were never given a reason, in IDW his face, emotions, and left hand was removed as punishment for defying the senators and wanting the population to know that Cybertrons resources were running out. That backfired, hard.

The original name of Elita One was Ariel. Actually, the fallen Transformer that D-16 found was Megatronus, from whom he will take his future name (and the symbol of his faction). It's pretty interesting that the Quintesson ships looks a lot like the Decepticon ship fron the series "Transformers: Prime" and the foot soldiers are even Vehicons from the same series. Even Airachnid appears too! (the female robot that resembles a black spider). The bodies that the group found with Alpha Trion resembles the Predacons (ancient dragon-like creatures, extint by the time Orion Pax and his people start to live), but perhabs those bodies could belong to the 13 original Primes, since Megatronus and Alpha Trion where part of them (Megatronus rebels against his brothers, so he was expelled and his name erased, he was known as "The Fallen", yes the one of the second Michael Bay movie). The beasts that serves the Quintessons are better known as Sharkticons, could be them). By the time that "Transformers: Prime" was aired, there was an attempt to unify all the continuities and make them one, thaking the best of preexistent content (series... comics... toy bios...) and make a common past history for all future series (the "Aligned continuity"), but just endures a few years. Looks like someone took that discarted concept and make it THIS movie since a lot of characters and designs are taken from that series.

This trailer looks promising: New voices for Optimus & Megatron in an animated tale depicting their Xavier/Magneto type origins. Hemsworth said he worked w/Cullen to get his voicework right = an added plus IMO It seems this back-to-basics approach has the Spirit of the original G1 cartoons (still traumatized over the '86 flick 😢). I feel this IP should reinvent itself via animation vs. live-action, especially if this is successful, and try to mirror the success of other animated iterations of the Spider-Verse, Invincible & X-Men IPs 🤔

I hoped we see megatron turned on Optimus in this movie

I think the Young Optimus and Megatron (Orian Pax and D-16) is voice actor by "Chris Hemsworth" is because they were young or they were in teenage year that is why they need to change the voice actor and not the original (Peter Cullen), in which it might change in the great war of autobots and decepticons scenes that Optimus have change his voice to the original one.

Iam really excited to immerse myself in this world of transformers one love the tone which reminds me of transformers G1. The action woulf be top notch. I can see the potential of it how the gang would all be childhood friendly and then later on can go dark which set off the triology. I have not been this excited about transformers for years.

I knew nothing about this movie. I'm glad it isn't another live action. Looks good.

They'll make the transformers and gi joe crossover movie in the next couple years!

I havent watched a single TF film since the first one..but this actually looks good and sounds like a good story and that's whats important

I was skeptical of changing the voice cast... but Lorenzo di Bonaventura talked about it at some point. There are two characters of Optimus. He's basically a kid here. He hasn't grown into himself (Peter Cullen). Chris Hemsworth has a voice that will become Peter Cullen's "When we first listen to Chris Hemsworth's voice, you're like, 'God, is he gonna be a good Optimus!' Obviously, he starts as Orion Pax and you don't become Optimus for a while, so he's not playing, for most of the movie, what we think of as Optimus, Peter Cullen. So it's that transition, and Chris's voice has a timbre that… it’s logical that Peter Cullen would take over that voice, if you would, which is really great, the fans are gonna really feel great."

I love how my ad for this video was for the movie! This looks great. So glad they are going animated. Live-Action looked cool and all but Transformers just looks and feels better animated. I also love the idea that you have to earn your Transformation cog.

My favorite Megatron and Optimus Prime voice was the one from the OG Beast Wars series. Loved their ebb and flow.

FYI, the remains that we see Megatron next to is not Alpha Trion (Try-on), Alpha is the one who gives them their transformation cogs later in the trailer. I'm speculating this might be Megatronus, from whom Megatron got inspiration for his name, because that face kinda looks like the Decepticon logo

I like the trailer & the vice over actors. In the original G1 cartoon, the quentesions were the creators of the transformers, & Megatron was always named & has been Megatron. That is a 5 part season 3 premiere. Optimitsus's origin was in season 2 episode after he created the airialbots. Hope they will make their debut & form Superion in the movies. A correct proper version lookingg faithful to the G1 cartoon like they did in Bumble be & Rise of the beasts. I also like how light hearted this movie is going to be, & I didn't notice Star scream, Soundwave, & Shockwave in the trailer before. I think it will do well, & looking forward to seeing it :)

The bot that tossed Orion Pax & D-16 looked a lot more like Soundwave than Shockwave. Not sure if it's really gonna be him though, since in Transformers lore, Soundwave only surfaced after Megatron rose to become the leader of the Decepticons

What I think would be cool with the GI Joe/Transformers movie is if they also introduce Rom Spaceknight, since IDW has that character now. Granted, it should be an ending credit scene with it comes to Rom, but still.
