FOOD PLAN FOR REDUCING:
Breakfast:
1 Protein
1 Grain
1 Fruit
Lunch:
1 Protein
1 Vegetable
1 Fat
Dinner:
1 Protein
1 Vegetable
1 Grain
1 Fat
Protein:
4 oz. meat/poultry/fish
2 eggs
2 oz. hard cheese
4 oz. cottage cheese (plain)
8 oz. yogurt (plain, no added sugar)
2 oz. nuts/seeds/nut butters (no sugar)
6 oz. beans (legumes)
4 oz. hummus (check ingredients for sugar)
2 veggie burgers (check ingredients for sugar/flour)
1/2 pkg. tofu
Grain:
4 oz. cooked rice, potato, quinoa (or any cooked whole grain)
4 oz. corn or peas
4 oz. winter squashes
2 oz. oatmeal or oat bran (weighed dry, before preparing with water)
3 rice cakes
Fruit:
1 piece of fruit (apple, orange, banana, peach, etc.)
6 oz. loose or diced fruit (berries, grapes, cantaloupe, watermelon, fruit salad, etc.)
2 oz. dried fruit (raisins, dates, apricots, etc.) (check ingredients for added sugar)
Vegetables:
16 oz. cooked or raw or a combination of both
including summers squashes
including avocado and olives (used sparingly)
Fat:
1 Tablespoon oil (olive oil, canola oil, safflower oil, vegetable oil, coconut oil, etc.) (any oil)
1 Tablespoon butter or margarine (no sugar in ingredients)
Condiments (with meals):
free to use mustard, vinegar, spices, lemon/lime, cinnamon, pam spray, herbs, soy sauce, fat free broth or stock (unless you find yourself abusing any of these foods)
(check ALL ingredients for added sugar)
Avoid:
flour
alcohol
sugar, artificial sweeteners, all sweeteners

    You’re 💯 right regarding diet. In October last year I went cold turkey - no sugar, no dairy, no meat, no booze. 💯 vegan and feeling phenomenal not to mention light! I lost 52 pounds and am at my normal weight now! You have to make the decision for your health and that’s that. No turning back.

    Lulu, I love the messages you convey on your channel. I too, am a long time sugar addict, now in remission for 20 months. Once day at a time. I follow the same food plan as you and I’m so grateful I’m out of the food and into healthful eating and living. All because I gave up sugar and white flour!! I’ve learned I used sugar and carbs to manage chronic anxiety as underneath ALL of it is compulsive negative thinking. Now, I’m so grateful to be free from the compulsions that use to rule me!! Keep sharing your daily positive messages. There are so many ppl struggling.

    Your comment is so on point for me. Thank you. Am sure sugar and flour lead the brain to the chronic anxiety and negative thinking. When I eat clean, I am less fearful of “whatever”. As soon as sugar and flour are eaten, I am more destructive in my thoughts to myself, and no one else. They are such addictive substances. Thank you for your awakening comment - it hit a chord.     Lulu I woke up today and received my bloodwork results from yesterday, I was so disapointed with myself I couldn't believe I let things get worse. I knew I haven't been feeling well this past couple weeks, But then here is this video !!!! I cried and smiled and began to feel like I want to start doing this right now !!!     You get the huge reward of all the benifits that come with healthy eating. I’m in the process of regaining my health at 63. I used to be so physically fit. 17 yrs of martial arts, light weights & eating right down the drain & a huge weight gain after I stopped. Insulin resistance, fatty liver and tired all the time. So happy I found your delightful videos, I have to tell you this was a giant boost for me. Thank you & thanks for posting your regular diet, love it!

    Have been without sugar for 11 months now. No to low carbs and dairy. I feel like a million bucks. No sugar is deffinately the way to go. Have lost so much weight. What a difference in energy. Feel like a kid again and I’ll be 70 in July. Right on the same page with ya.

    Lulu, just watched this today. Been struggling with sugar/carb addiction since childhood. Used it to comfort from an abusive childhood. You have inspired me more than I could ever express…you are living my dream life. I’m 53 now, and unfortunately cannot do my long dreamt about “van life” as my husband suffers from Parkinson’s, BUT I can make the change to get my body healthy for me and to take care of him. I’m 5’6, 190lbs, and that’s the LAST time I will ever say that last number. You truly are an inspiration, please never stop posting your authentic, sincere, positive videos.     Gosh, Amy, I am with you. I am caring for my husband of 56 years who is in the final stages of his terrible battle with PD. Like you, I had no weight issues but, I seem to have lost my way, caregiving. I don't know who I am anymore! I have such a tight schedule, every 3 hours of just giving him bed care, never mind meals, meds, toiletries and meds. I am exhausted. I just wrote to LuLu, today because, by shopping, prepping and eating in front of me, she is going to make me rethink what I have been doing to get buy and, make a change. Than God for Lulu's Way.❤

    Thank you for this video. Like you my fight with food began at a very early age. I was the repeat weight watcher and always looking for the next great miracle diet. Now at 65 I can finally say that I want to be healthy and physically strong more than the chocolate candy bar. Also, like you I have had backlash from people about the way I eat. They try to make “Eat to live” a negative thing. I don’t live a life of deprivation. It’s all about choices

    whoever is giving you backlash about the way you eat, pay not attention. people think food=love, that is how we are conditioned. but you can step away from it and just LOVE, all on it's own. show them that you'll still suit up and show up and love them and be with them and enjoy them, but your food is a separate thing, because you need to take good care of yourself. eventually, loved ones get it. but not until you actually change for good, when you are consistently. if you are showing up eating to live and then the next month you how up living to eat, they will get mixed messages and you'll make no headway on them understanding. JUST BE CONSISTENT!! Lulu

    I threw my pudding away when I watched this. I didn't eat it at all. Please be a little patient with us who tend to weaken easier. I have eaten anything and everything my whole 66 years. I'm not bragging at all but I have always stayed slim even eating all this. I was and still am very energetic but I would like to lose 5 pounds. I realize what you said. It's really about nourishing this vessel God gave us to live in. Thank you for your advice. You have a really cute shape. You're aging well Lulu. Thank you for trying to help others to eat better.

    Girl you are an inspiration to us all. I started weight watchers 3 weeks ago. I basically stick to veggies and meats and grains. I’m so proud of myself I haven’t touched a piece of junk food.     hi Henrietta!! keep counting those points and don't eat the junk. when you start using your points for junk food that is where the slippery slope of failure begins. because we can't help it. the only thing that sets up a desire/craving for junk is by eating the junk. the junk just calls for more junk.     Hi Lulu I am watching this video March 2024. You are an amazing speaker because, you have been there, done that. In other words, you know what you're talking about. I wish you could set up a motivational video where you could give us tips and food amounts that you have honed in. I am so emotionally attached to foods that I know I shouldn't eat. If I ate well, my Crohn's would thank me. Living alone, would be easier because my weight gain began after getting married and child birth. Before, I didn't have time to eat! I was young, energetic, full of life. With MS, Depression and Crohn's, age 77, looking after my husband of 56 years, who is barely hanging on with PD, I have no desire to focus on me and, too tired. Thank you for taking time to prep, weigh and shop with us. The more we see it, the more we will want to do it. There are veggies you have eaten I have never heard of so, don't buy. Right now, my lettuces and tomatoes are sitting in my "Rot Box" of my fridge, waiting to be tossed. When I bought them,I had great intentions and, they looked good in the gricery cart, with the fast, easy to eat junk items. I am going to give a try to some of your meal ideas and pray my Crohn's doesn't get pissed off at me. Be well, Lulu.     I agree with all this. I lost weight 4 years ago. I used the weight watchers app as a guide to show me the amount of calories are in each item. I also never ate any of the bars and snacks as I’m allergic to all the additives and preservatives. I lost over 25lbs with just eating a clean diet. Then maintained and lost inches and gained muscle by exercise. Thanks Lulu. Love this type of motivational chat.

    Great video. I agree with everything you said. I am almost there when it comes to my nutrition and weight lost , I went from 200 to now 140 pounds, I still need another 10 to go. I have to stop drinking completely, because that's the only thing that throws me off, because when I drink alcohol not only I feel like crap the next day but I crave junk food.

I began putting on weight from around age 9 and I have been imprisoned in my mind since then. I'm now age 61 and am slowly reclaiming my life, and the freedom from endlessly catering to those urges and cravings is priceless.     Balanced nutrition is the best nutrition plan. I try to have all the food groups because we need them all. You really have inspired me to eat healthy. Happy Days to you Lulu!!
