I've been lucky enough to work in 3D printing/Additive Manufacturing for the last 20 years and I've used that Buckminster Fuller quote some many times to describe how AM is changing the manufacturing world. Love it!

Thank you....I wish I had all the fab tools I used to use at a Hot Rod shop I used to work for....I'm pretty limited here, but I somehow fight through it and find a way.

Making my way, here in 2018, through this supreme playlist...it's inspiring! I intend to convert a box truck next spring. Thanks for sharing your talents and efforts with us. Also, Buckminster Fuller has long been a hero of mine, I was excited to see that quote.

Found your channel tonight through skoolie. And binged through all the Transcendence videos. I absolutely love what you are doing with this bus. Keep the videos coming. By the way the time lapse of the sheet metal bending in your vice was very cool.

I also agree with everyone about your great skills for that work. One question I see you are cutting a lot of sheet metal for the patch panels and to fill window holes, did that come from the inside ceiling panels?

that is a yes, after he took out the ceiling he was not going to replace the ceiling with the same material, so he has been reusing it a lot.

I really like the 3m automix line, that 8237 really self levels nicely. Is that k-36 primer? Do you have an auto body background?

After watching your videos I started to catch on that you have had experience. I did collision repair as a body/frame tech for most of my working life. Some days I miss it and the money that came along. Other days I am glad I have my freedom!

I'm looking for some insight on prepping metals to ward off future rust/corrosion issues. I'm using a galvanized hat channel for my raise. Would you recommend a self etching primer to the existing unpainted rib and my galvanized "splice" before I join them with "rivets" (actually using hi-lok's). Or is the fact that my splice is galvanized make that step unnecessary?

With galvanized parts, you shouldn't have any rust or corrosion issues down the road. If you do have any bare metal showing though, I would recommend a good automotive epoxy primer rather than etch primer. Moisture can penetrate etch primer very easily, where, epoxy will hold it out. It is not good against prolonged UV exposure though if your using on the exterior. (I hope to get mine in paint fairly soon.) Por15 is another great rust preventative also. As long as you drill the holes within tolerance....hilok's will be great!
