I LOVE the relationship between Thomas and James. The two have similar situations of being pushed around by Gordon and Henry and in tandem, somewhat care for each other. I particularly love what trampy does with James and makes him sympathetic towards others-something he’s *not* known for in the books or show

The rest of the dialogue makes for a good part of the scene. I’ll be Henry. (Smacks lips) “Well, Thomas, that was just a wonderful history lesson, my friend. But it doesn’t change the fact that you still left your train behind - you can’t make us forget that - and I think that’s a good note to end the night off on. Good night, everybody.”

This might be my favorite Trampy movie so far. This one is excellent. The interactions between Thomas and the big engines are gold as usual, especially when Thomas went from talking about how grand of an express engine Gordon is to insulting him. Edward is really great throughout the Trampy movie series, but him lying about hearing Thomas' mishap with his train has to be my favorite Edward moment and one of my favorite Trampy movie moments in general. I love the Troublesome Trucks here. From their jokes to the "look out for the train" reference, the whole scene where Thomas takes the train is brilliant. On a side note, it might just be me, but I can't help hearing one of them sounding like Eric Cartman from South Park when I first listened. The ending is very nice too. I also like Edward's little backstory. Nothing over-the-top, just a simple "stubborn character makes mistakes, humbles from their mistakes, and gets a chance to prove themselves" story. Can definitely see more inspiration from The Adventure Begins where Edward and Thomas get into trouble and have to stay in the yard, along with Edward reassuring Thomas. Overall, solid Trampy movie.

I agree, Trampy does an amazing job with these redubs of classic episodes. Though, guessing from the name pattern I have a few theories on what the next redub name will be 1. Brake-down (A pun because 1. James' brakes lead him into the accident 2. Breakdown train. get it?) 2. Cranes/Crane (Because it's also centered around the breakdown train, which has 2 cranes.) 3.Branchline (Because y'know, Thomas gets his branchline.) Anyways I just replied here cuz Ima get buried in the comments

I swear this series gets even better every episode! More great development between Thomas and Edward here! I liked the little flashbacks we got of Edward's past, good use of that episode lol. The trucks were so great in this one too, I like when TFC scolded them haha. Also I found it interesting when Edward was encouraging Thomas in the beginning and says "We're machines, we're not perfect and we learn from our mistakes", which is the exact opposite meaning a human would take from that sentiment!

This was excellent. Love the relationship between Thomas and Edward here, it's so nice seeing these two interact with each other. It's a lot like Hiro from Hero of the Rails. Thomas respects Edward and sees him as the old engine with experience like with Hiro. Seeing Edward calm down Thomas in certain situations is just so nice, and I love the little bit of Edward backstory with episodes such as "Edward Strikes Out" and "Edward and the Mail" taking place in his past when he worked on the Furness Railway. That was such a nice touch. Also, the banter between the Troublesome Trucks is hilarious in this. It's a lot like Journey Beyond Sodor, and I'm sure that one van that said, "Are we there yet?" was a reference to it. Also, the "Look Out for the Train" reference when the trucks were pushing Thomas down the hill was just the icing on the cake during the whole runaway sequence. 10/10.

This is easily the best one. I like the emotional connection between Thomas and James; James kept his mouth shut, and tried to defend Thomas, but it fell apart in the end. James being a third wheel is great. The way Edward acts as a mentor figure to Thomas is great, and the scene with Sir Topham Hatt is amazing. The Trucks are perfect; the balance between chaotic, snarky, and stupid is amazing, and I love the sort of "group think" dynamic. I like the dumb truck. I thought the last episodes ended kinda abruptly, so I love how this one continues on past the main action. You nailed the references. The lore is on point, explaining Edward's time on the Furness, the early days of Sodor, and Henry's mechanical issues all in a way that works with the plot. The jokes are great too, with "look out for the trains," Thomas not ACTUALLY wanting to "see the world" as a jab at BWBA and using Hit Era pictures for Edward's younger days. It's amazing, I can't think of any criticism at all. Also

The Thomas and Edward moments in this feel like they came straight from a movie. The way you've portrayed these two, their personalities, their dreams, and their humbling moments, it ties wonderfully into the original stories and honestly raises them up in my opinion. Absolutely wonderful and beautifully written! That's not mentioning the wonderful little moments like Gordon staring in bewilderment as Thomas insults him to his face, how to explain Thomas has pulled trucks before but could still have problems with them, and the details that just make sense like how the trucks actually listen to and respect Sir Topham Hatt. Honestly I'm surprised we haven't seen the latter in any kind of Thomas media before.

I must say that this series has been one of the best interpretations of these classic stories that I’ve ever heard. The character interactions are incredible. The banter between the engines is always fun, and the dialogue is on point, as is the voice acting. Each character sounds exactly as I would’ve imagined, and Thomas and Edward’s friendship is really heartwarming. I also like this interpretation of the Fat Controller. He’s an absolute force to be reckoned with, and even the trucks seem to respect him (possibly out of fear). Despite being VERY strict, he still understands his engines, and is firm, but fair, as he should be. I know that this comment was excessively long, and I don’t know if you’ll read all this, but I just wanted to express my appreciation for these videos. They’ve even provided loads of inspiration for my own series I’m working on, which is basically the Railway Series, but with my own spin on it. Many elements from these videos, such as the dialogue and lack of a narrator, will be integrated in my series (not a complete rip-off, of course). Thank you for these fantastic videos, keep them coming! -Chase

  • @winwatch9835

Thomas and Edward's dynamic are always the highlight in these stories. Even after his blunder with the trucks, Edward still cheers Thomas up and tells him that once upon a time, he was also an impatient, brash engine who "wanted to see the world". But in the end, there is always room for improvement. In a way, Thomas and Edward's dynamic really hits home for me. These are the ideal "mature" takes on the classic Thomas stories- because there's an actual sense of maturity. Yes, the snappy, sarcastic banter is always hilarious. But the heart of Awdry's stories are still present, giving us solid growth for Thomas- it's just presented in a more natural way. Keep up the good work!

Now THIS is the perfect adaptation of a Thomas story! Everything about this is just fantastic! The lore to the series, The Fat Controller’s caring nature, him letting The Troublesome Trucks know that they aren’t getting off scot-free, Edward’s backstory on the Furness Railway, trucks being the literal gangsters of the North Western Railway, Thomas having a father and son like bond with Edward, very relatably wanting a chance to prove himself and have a change of pace and scenery, completely losing his composure for the entire runaway, him and James basically being brothers, and to top it all off, the trucks shouting “Look Out For The Train!”! I swear, that will NEVER get old!

This is probably my favorite episode of yours yet! The script is tight, funny, and engaging, and there are so many character defining moments to obsess over… - the shed banter at the beginning with Thomas effortlessly roasting everyone - the fact that James DIDNT snitch to everyone but still gets disrespected anyway, continuing his legacy as the permanent butt of everyone’s jokes - the further cementing of Thomas and Edwards relationship, which is deepened even more by their shared history as the oldest engines on the lines. - the absolute PERFECT characterization of the trucks. Seeing them go from ruthlessly mocking Edward to begging for him to come back in less than 30 seconds was so great because it so wholly represents who they are as fixtures of this universe. - Seeing the Fat Controller finally open up and showcase more of his vulnerability to Thomas. More than any other, this episode demonstrates the fullness of his character. He’s not just some irritable tyrant barking orders at everyone left and right: he’s a legitimate, competent, if not slightly overworked leader whose trying his best to keep things running smoothly. He cares for the engines as if they were his own children, and treats them accordingly. He’s assertive with them when he needs to be, but he also knows how to be gentle and consoling as well. True, he may lean a bit too hard on his authoritarian side sometimes, but that’s only because he has a business to run and he’s clearly not used to looking after this many engines before. In the end, he’s just as fallible as the engines he oversees, he just has to try his hardest not to show it. All in all, this was another excellent episode that perfectly balanced out comedy and character building, and it makes me look forward even more to seeing how you inevitable wrap up Thomas character arc. Thanks so much Trampy!

I think what you do best is empathize with the best and worst characteristics of the cast and put it in full view. For example, Thomas isn't just a cheeky engine. He's impatient, inexperienced, and too eager for his own good Edward isn't just the quite wise engine, He jumps in when he feels like he has something to offer. whether it be sarcastic comment or talking down a situation. He shows his experience by his actions You pinpoint the essence of the characteristics and manage to create unique personalities while still feeling like in character. That is extremely hard to do when making adaptions, and it's why I say you're one of the best writers in this Fandom that I've seen. Keep up the great work

Have to say really enjoying the tone and interpretation of this series. Also surprisingly informative too where lore's concerned. Henry had been expected to be the main express engine but couldn't do so due to early steaming problems much to the Fat Controllers chagrin when he realized what he'd bought thus the need for Gordon. I like that sort of attention to detail especially when it doesn't overstay and flows really well with everything else. Absolutely brilliant. Breathing new life into classic stories is a refreshing change of pace.

I have never been that good at wording my thoughts so excuse me if this sounds weird. This is the definition of perfection. Like everything about it is absolute peak. Thomas' interactions with the Gordon, James, and Henry, and also his dynamic with Edward. He's the only one that he's really friends with. And the voices of the trucks are great. When one of them said "Look out for the train" I actually hollered because I remember someone on Twitter saying you should put that in the video. Also the ending where Edward gives his backstory, or whatever you want to call it. I don’t think i've ever actually seen anyone do that before. (The fact that all of his mishaps were pictures from the HiT era made me laugh more than it should have) This is truly some of the greatest Thomas content I've ever seen. You, FlyingPringle, CartyCinema, and The Unlucky Tug are practically carrying this unlikely fandom. I can't wait for Trampy Movie 7, keep up the good work!

Well, if the HiT seasons served a purpose, it was giving Edward's younger years a visual basis. WE GET OUR FIRST BACKSTORY FOR THIS CONTINUITY! WOOOO! Really does showcase that Thomas, if anything, is more like a teenager rather than a child, at this point in his life. And James is still red. Ah well. At least we know why Sir Topham Hatt bought him. Curious how/if his Arc will be adapted considering it hits similar ones as Thomas. Maybe combined with Troublesome Engines? Eh, looking too far into the future. Nice note that Edward already planned to ask STH and it's another showing of Thomas' Fatal Flaw: Impulsiveness. And damn it you've made Thomas relatable to those of us unhappy with our lives and needing to be ready for that transition! Congratulations. These get better and better, can't wait to see how the climax will be adapted.

People dont know this but adolscence is mostly artificial. The ambitious impulsiveness of teens isnt because of brain developmemt but because of infantilization. Adults tell us to grow up yet tell us to remain a child at the same time. Itsno wonder why teenage years are so tumultuous. In premodern America amd Europe, we used to have rites of passage where adulthood was quick and efficiemt. Nowadays, adolescence is lasting throughout the twebties and thirties. Society wants to raie the age of majority to compensate for "brain develooment" yet fail to realize that it will only further emasculate the young. We cannot afford for the modern yputh to remain in a state of innocence/idealism. Ypu may not notice but have you noticed that people in their thirties and forties nowadays behave more adolescent than actual teens?

This is my new favorite. I thought Henry in the tunnel was your best adaptation, but this one beats it out. Fun hearing the trucks, banter from the tender engines, thomas getting checked for his impatience, the growing student mentor ship of thomas and Edward, and probably of the most realistic and best depictions of sir Topsham hatt. Near perfect and one of the best things to hit the Fandom in years.

I love, just love, how much more personality and character you add to these engines. You add so much to Thomas and fill in a bit of a plot hole with the original books by explaining that he missed pulling trains and not that he had never done it before. I love how their is plenty of comedy in this but great storytelling as well, kind of like the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Thomas' scream before he hits the buffers almost killed me. The pictures and the edits you make to them, while a bit inconsistent at times, is amazing. Keep up the good work man.

Jeez, I would've have never thought that Edward, (well he was like Gordon at one point as a primer express engine) of all engine had a similar situation as Thomas did and the fact that he gave one hell of a talk to Thomas in regards to him improving himself along with helping him out indicates that he has potential of running his own line once he learns from the 4-4-0 himself. I'm glad that Thomas told TFC as of why he acts out and he's fully aware why Thomas time and time again that he wants prove himself to the bigger engines and he gave him a chance to start over from scratch sending him to Edward.

Topham Hatt actually genuinely made me tear up a lil holy shit. Of these Trampy Movies, I love that they all communicate without a filter, feeling that the conversations are more natural and of course with more genuine emotions and attitudes. The way Thomas humiliated Henry, Gordon and James by getting right to the point was hilarious. It should be remarkable that Edward is the only engine who has a lot of patience to teach Thomas how to work on the railway, being a mentor to him.
