I really do love the small conversation between Edward and Thomas. Thomas respects Edward for actually being a real equal, and Edward actually treats Thomas like a real friend. This “movie” is just beautifully written! Thank you, Trampy.

I really appreciate Thomas' and Edward's conversation in this episode. It's a great balance between every being angry at each other and genuinely heartwarming moments. It was really nice to see Edward checking in on Thomas, and acknowledging he had a point. In the original Thomas was a pretty unsympathetic character and was only teasing Gordon for fun. In this series, even though he's still generally still mean and angry, he seems more stressed about the extra work from Henry and feeling unappreciated. It keeps all the characters likeable while still arguing with each other lmao. 1:33 has great meme potential!

Thomas and Edward's conversation left me a big smile. As funny and witty the movies are, it's very nice to see moments like this where characters can reassure each other, have pleasant conversations, and be genuine friends. I also love the addition of Edward chuckling when Thomas woke up Gordon at Knapford and Edward stopping suddenly when he was shocked by Thomas being dragged by the express. I got The Adventure Begins vibes from that. Henry and James also have their hilarious moments in here too.

It's content like this that breathe new life to all Thomas stories. These are slightly more mature takes on the classic tales without being too vulgar- it just feels natural. The dynamic between Thomas and Edward was so heartwarming and nice. I love seeing Edward being a 'big brother' to Thomas, reminding him that he indeed is the glue that holds the railway together. Also, Henry's "Seems like I'm not missing much..." had me in stitches. Absolutely fantastic!

I really like the little detail of Henry still being in the tunnel. It is a nice bit of world-building to have unrelated stories happening simultaneously. The talk between Thomas and Edward is great too, and it really goes to highlight how Edward is a sort of mentor figure. Nice touch on how Thomas physically CAN'T pull The Express. I also like how this gives a better explanation of the story, then "It happened, I guess, I don't know." Also this reaction at 1:33 is great

I'm really loving these movies. Everything about them from the edits to character personalities are absolutely on point! I especially love the friendship between Thomas and Edward shown here. Thomas respecting Edward for treating him as an equal and understanding his frustrations with Gordon. Edward checking up on him to make sure he's okay and generally just trying to be his friend unlike the others. His surprised, horrified expression upon seeing Thomas behind the express makes me wonder what he'll say to Gordon about his trick when they next meet, but i suspose we'll see in the next movie. Overall i love this series, keep up the good work!

God this was done just so right. You really are great at making subtle details. like how Edward says gordon gets respect and at the end someone does praise gordon for keeping to time. Thomas has grown a bit and now respects Edward compared to the first movie where he didn’t even say goodbye to him. I also like how you have this story in-between henry and what I assume is going to be called redemption. "I don't know what's going on with you lately..." Ego between unbearable co-workers and extra work with seemingly no appreciation for it. That's the problem. Can't wait for his transfer to Wellsworth.

Gordon: Oh, is that right? You think any of these middle class engines can do my job, Little Thomas? James: Um, I can do it. Thomas: Yes, I do, actually! Gordon: Well, let me just state the facts then. Edward can’t do it. He’s much to old and weak to pull that heavy train. You are a little tank engine who’s never pulled a train before. Henry could probably do it, but he’s pulling nothing but cobwebs now.
