A busy hour at Slough station on the Great Western Mainline. A lots changed on this route in the last few months. A disturbingly low amount of HST's now and lots of electrics floating about.
This video however features a mixture of both diesel and electric traction.
INCLUDES: Great Western HST's, Class 57, Class 800 IET's, 387's and turbo's. DB Schenker (EWS) Class 66, TFL Rail class 345 on a test run and top n' tail Colas Rail Class 67's taking a test train to Tyseley.
As well as Slough, this video includes a few shots from West Drayton and closes with a shot of a class 57 taking some mk3 coaches empty stock through Didcot Parkway.

Was for me a great place at night in the 1970's - lots of Westerns thundering through at 90mph. Then the 1980's with 50's doing 100mph and 125mph HSTs with their original screaming engines. They all used to make the place shake they were so loud. Lovely!
Nice vid, 12 of the 387s will be getting transferred to the Heathrow Express service next year

Glad that the class 802s will be re used from class 800s. They will have comfy seats. And a little dark lighting. And blue seats.
I think they ought to split GWR up again; leave it with the Inter-City and the Thames Valley services, and split the Bristol area and West of England local services off into a separate company again. GWR just can't seem to run the local services efficiently or seem to have any real interest in them

Why does there need to be a sign stating, "Electric Trains - No access to Windsor Branch and Siding?" Isn't that all controlled by the signalling centre anyway (as if the driver had any authority in the matter)? I suppose making sure the points are correct before proceeding... (Have seen this in other video locations with other non-electric branches as well.)
