  Apparently a pilot friend of mine said all aircraft seem to take off better a Birmingham City Airport, not because of headwinds but because the airplanes can't wait to get out of that shithole of a city 😆

  My god the GEML has changed. I miss the 315s and 317s that ran on the Lea Valley line (I know it’s not part of the main line but still) and of course the 360s, 321s and the trains hauled by class 90s. Don’t get me wrong I rate the new 720s and 755s FLIRT services but I loved the old trains

  I remember when I used to always ride GWR class 800 and HST 43. I always used to depart out of didcot parkway and stop in reading.But I have moved from the uk and I don’t live there anymore. Oh these olden times 🥹

  When I went it was a night landing,as I peered through the window I recoiled in horror as I could see trees - above us,on the return flight we could only take off with a partial fuel load due to the short runway and had to fly to Thessaloniki to refuel,before continuing our journey back to Manchester.

  This is a five and a half hour flight on an Airbus 320. Didn't it feel a bit too long for such a small single aisle aircraft ?

  We had the Skycouch to and from Vancouver last year. There are 2 of us so we actually don't fit on it lying down, but what we enjoyed was having the 3 seats. So much more room, and no problems with an extra person in the row. We had the isle seat and the window seat with our jackets, books etc in the middle. Much more comfortable. Good food on Air NZ as well and great service.

  It's not like GNER to terminate at Perth if the HML was closed. They usually diverted via Perth, Dundee, and Aberdeen.
