Trains at Sheffield - 14/12/2021
Filmed on 14/12/2021. This is it, the final trainspotting session of 2021 and what has been a truly epic year. The city which is home of true grit and Steel, yes this is the Steel City Of Sheffield (Season 8 Episode 48)
As the sun sets, we reflect on the year and indeed the highlights of 2021 of many ups and some down moments and exploring brand new places and territory to see and do. Despite the start of the year which began in lockdown, things has moved onwards and upwards.
At Sheffield, we see more of some ex Newton Heath depot based class 150/2 which has been transferred to South Yorkshire diagrams and services. To be used mostly on Northern stopping services prior to the now retired Pacer fleet replacements. Since the December timetable changes has been in place, Northern has bought back their hourly fast services linking Leeds through to Lincoln Central rather than on the Lincoln to Sheffield shuttle services.
A few problems for Transpennine Express; As with many rail operators, some of the train services has been cancelled due to the current situation with the 'C' as some of the train crews are not available for certain services. Just would like to say to wish the train crews a full recovery and staying safe.

Thanks very much, happy to hear you have enjoyed it. Ah, the Peak class 45's? Yeah, seen footage of them in action along the Midland Mainline and has to be said, they were incredible. Shame that they are now withdrawn from the mainline but at least some has been preserved.

Thanks very much Arnold. That's because the HST was replaced by a class 220/221 combo on that service.

@@arnoldspottingvideos5269 Well, not really. If you think about it like this: 2 extra coaches gained for the service. Yeah, it was a shame it wasn't a HST but considering Cross Country are not running a full timetable service, it makes sense pairing the units up.

Somehow buddy, Sheffield at night looks a lot more appealing and inviting that Sheffield during the day. I dunno why, some liveries they just pop off the screen at night

It does, especially with the sunsetting as it gave us a chance to reflect on the year. Yeah, they do at night with some liveries.
