Filmed on 02/03/2019. The third and final station on our day out to South Yorkshire is from the steal city itself. Welcome back to Sheffield (Season 6 Episode 5)
It is a rather different stint and mostly focused on the north side of the station. There was engineering works taking place at Sheffield with trains including Cross Country running a reduced hourly services to Taunton and Scotland areas. Cross Country & East Midlands Trains terminated or turned around from the north side of the station. Transpennine Express had cancelled their services due to the engineering works.
Services were not too badly effected with mostly late running services and very few cancelled services. The Hope Valley Line between Sheffield and Stockport was also closed resulting in replacement buses to Stockport & New Mills Central to connect for services to Manchester.
Here is what was seen during a 90 minutes stint at Sheffield:
Northern Class 142, 144
Northern Class 150 (ex Great Western Railway)
Northern Class 153,158
East Midlands Trains Class 158 & 222
DB Cargo UK Class 66
Cross Country Class 220 & 221
A rather fun and interesting stint with diverts in place.
