    Forgot to mention, the other issue with high depth jumps is they’re very risky and take forever to recover from. Lower drop jumps are safer. I did them so I could get some ground contact data, but don’t intend to do them regularly except for from lower boxes with very short ground contact times. Dr. MICHAEL Yessis of C. S Fullerton translated the Russian training manuals and brought those two jumps to American sprint training. Along with your French Contrast training it would have sure helped me in high school and College. Hope this type of sprint and my hybrid training will help me in the sprints as well as the 4 / 800 . At Masters track and field.

    i love including the “dumb” stuff like the higher depth jumps and questioning the relevance to performance. its a great thing to point out from a sport-specific perspective.

    Great content as usual! Cody I'm looking for a training program that incorporates wicket drills, Sled work and plyometrics. Primarily for 100m and LJ. Which of your programs do you suggest?

    Hey Cody i wanted an advise from you, at some point of my season usually in march i seem to hit an immense plateau and cannot seem to improve further but also i start to get worse. i don't do indoor so i go streight to outdoor and usually i have a long base training ( i have only 2 and half year of training under my belt and was not really consistent because of injury)but wanted to ask what do you think i can do to get out of this situation. Thanks

    Really looking for some training advice for Ramadan (can't eat or drink anything from sunrise to sunset, for 1 month). Would still like to get some short training sessions in just before sunset, but don't want to spend too much time with weights as I've recently found my times dropping by minimising weight training.

    hey Cody! If your primary focus is on hypertrophy and lift at least 3x a week, how can you incorporate sprints for recreation/general athleticism? Should they be done on lower focused lifting days?

  • @jfitness432

    @jfitness432

    Жыл бұрын

    You can do 2-3 sprints before lifting or on a separate day, if you’re lifting 3 days per week and aren’t playing sports recreationally on off days do 3-4 sprints after a through warmup. Rest 1 minute for every 10m you sprint and start with short sprints of 10-20m, and if you have access to a hill start there to reduce injury. If you haven’t sprinted I would only go once per week for 3-4 weeks and try to progress to twice a week. On strength training days you can also add pogo hops or jump rope to your warmup as this will help improve elasticity and some tissue tolerance, good luck

    Prime SP2 tops 1000000%. They’re absolutely incredible. The problem I feel with the maxflys is I never felt I could apply the force into the track due to the ‘bubble’. With the SP2 I still feel I can accelerate the same as with post 2021 spikes. I’m very big on track feedback because I consider my power and ability to put force down my strength, so I really didn’t like the max flys for this reason. Turned my strength into a not so much strength. I like feeling the track as close to my feet as possible

    @@ATHLETE.X I agree. They’re such a good overall spike. Feel benefits across my whole race model. Light spikes like adidas prime finesse still have a place in my heart though. I hope in 10 years they’re still making those kind of more ‘recreational’ spikes and there hasn’t been a complete sale shift to just these super spikes
