Grew up with a father from eastern Kentucky. He trained many dogs for military and K-9 units. My father grew up on a farm over 500 acres. All kinds of animals. The very first time I watced Dog Daddy Augusto I knew he must have grew up around several animals, probably on a farm. I was correct. He did on his grandparents farm in Brazil, no TV , no internet. Farm chores and animals...this taught Dog Daddy all he needed to know about animals. His love of animals and his life's experience make Dog Daddy Augusto one of the worlds best dog trainers.

My neighbor had a wolf dog. Beautiful, smart creature. Neighbor moved away and just left the dog, who was very aloof. Occasionally he’d drive by and throw some fast food out of his truck window for the dog. I put a bed on my back porch and started feeding him properly. Eventually he’d come and lay near me when I worked in my garden-I’m pretty sure he’d never been inside or had even worn a collar. One day the former neighbor pulled up right as I was coming out of my house. The dog totally ignored him and ran to me instead. The next day the neighbor picked him up and I never saw the dog again. I watched for him for weeks because I know he could have found his way back. I still think about that amazing animal😢

@@bluebus1985 that would fit him for sure. He had a nasty cut on his foot once and my neighbor, who worked at our university veterinary hospital, tried to clean it up. I rescued a young powder puff Chinese crested. This poor girl was so afraid of me. Her previous owner a never socialized with her her parents where extremely aggressive to anyone so she learned a lot of defensive traits. We brought her home and she did nothing but hide in her safe place for an entire week not even leaving to use the bathroom which we never scolded her for because we knew it was from fear. I stayed by her side for an entire week eating with her and sleeping beside her space but far enough to ensure her she had an escape. On the final morning I woke to pressure on my chest and stomach and woke up to her laying over my body. It was the happiest moment of my life with her at that point I was so proud of her. We worked with her for a bit longer but realized she needed a companion. We got her a 7 week old Jack russel puppy and that’s when she really opened up. She became a brand new dog with her new best friend. Daisy passed about 7 months ago now and she gave me the greatest gift any dog could have.

People that had met her always said she's the smartest animal I've ever met. I respected both sides of her. She knew all hand signs that came in handy because she lost her hearing. True in part, They use word association and can understand many words eventually. You can tell them it's ok with each new experience they are afraid of. And with each new experience ...they will learn what "It's Ok means" But not right off the bat of course. This guy is kinda lucky here the wolfdog didn't nut up as I can tell he is High Content. My Female Wolf acts in so many ways what you seen here....Hardly any vocalization but teeth bared if needed. Very reluctant to cooperate unless she wants to. Yes lots of tugging/coaxing to get to follow. They are very cautious and have anxiety simply by their nature of being in captivity....this is something you cannot breed out. My Wolf will at times Bolt like a horse if simply a Pine Cone falls out of a tree...Its just survival...Quick reactions and quick reflexes...Who knows what is falling out of the tree and why stick around to find out right? Bears Frequent trees so it could be a bear ya know. Whereas a domestic dog would simply look at it fall then go up and sniff it. Or ignore it altogether. A new experience recently is lifting her whole body out of the truck when she sprained her ankle...She did not understand why I was trying lift her out when she had always jumped out on her own for years. (Very independent creatures)...So I would tell her "it's ok" Just like the Pine Cone... and she would calm down so I could help her. I follow that with "Let me help you" Then she understands what I am doing as opposed to just thrusting my hands toward her lol. Theyre not a dog, different animal, but very intelligent. And can be taught to understand many words.

Arctic wolf mix has to be at least 3rd or 4th generation to dilute the wolf blood. Otherwise it's going to be untrainable and indefinite fight for power. One day he lets you pet it , next day ( especially when you sick and weak and vulnerable ) he will try to kill you. Not a joke to have these animals as pets.

Yes!! Too many people don’t want to respect a dog as an animal -“oh sweet doggo”- no, they respect true leadership and want a knowing hand to guide them. You can’t train a large animal like a horse without a firm, loving hand- they’ll run right over you. Only difference is respecting dogs as a predator with pack behavior- and humans have to be at the top.

You do realize that the video had to be edited down for time. Most people get bored within minutes so creators edit down to keep the important facts so everyone leaves with some knowledge, "some is better then none". He seems to stay at residences for a hour or so not to overwhelm the dog, but the educating owners is where most of the time is spent.

Oh my gosh. I think you are so amazing. You aren't mean to dogs. You let them no who is in charge so they don't have to be and can relax. My lab Ruby who is 8 has been by my side since my husband passed 4 years ago. All I want is to take her with me on walks everyday but she pulls me and it's stressful.

More than training the dog he's training the owners on how to adress some drastic situations in their lives with their wolfdog. He's not just training the wolfdog. You might have trained your wolfdogs and all, but I dare you to train a family with a spoiled chihuahua. I DARE you. Dealing with people is drastically different. but that's what the world needs.

How did a couple without experience training dogs end up thinking they could handle a somewhat wild and feral animal? It reminds me of the girl down the road who lives in a 100 square foot camper who recently bought a husky 🤦‍♀️

  • @NFann

firstly I will agree about the owners and training, as I am trying to help the owners of my wolfdogs brother that we got at we got at the same time to rehome him because they didn't do any research on the bread and is away from home days at a time. I feel sorry for the poor guy cause he's an absolute gent of a dog and they are gona destroy him. But don't really appreciate you calling them wild and feral as they ar the complete opposite unless they are pushed to be. Even the dog in the video shows that, as scared as he was he only showed teeth once for a sec. which is just a warning signal to show he's not comfortable with him coming closer. As for the girl with the husker down the road from you. it doesn't matter what she lives in once she takes care of the dog properly. shouldn't judge some1 on were the live and that goes double for all the judgmental ppl that liked your comment who know nothing of the random girl.
