My reaction was pretty much "That's fucking Trinity!"... And that's about it.

The ones who aren't being openly racist and sexist are saying stuff like "Darth Plagueis and Keanu Reeves as Darth Revan BETTER SHOW UP OR DISNEY IS FINISHED", just setting themselves up for disappointment buying into fake news and begging for fan service, it's The Last Jedi all over again. Best part is that if Plagueis and Darth Keanu (awful fancast btw) do show up, they'll whine about it being too fan service-y like they did every other time any other show included known characters.

I don't like the Fandom Menace people but it'll be well-deserved.

Most of the time the channels watching trailers, I feel, their reactions are exaggerated, or fake. They don't understand what they are looking at. There's a reveal, "OH, IT'S THAT GUY!" while not knowing who they are. It's not genuine content.

I actually enjoy Reel Rejects because they're pretty self aware with the fact that they're supposed to be hyped about character cameos and reveals despite often having no idea who they are supposed to be.

My favorite “reactions” are people who are 30+ listening to bohemian rhapsody or some other super popular song “for the first time”

I've always enjoyed Blind Wave/Wave Squadron's reactions because they're actually kinda fun and they have a lot of star wars knowledge which helps them when they discuss the trailers.

Yup. + Heroes Reforged are the best. Each of them has great knowledge of different universes + they actually worked on some of the movies made, like Mad Max, some Marvel movies like Winter Soldier. They know a lot and are actually excited

Real! I hate the culture of trailer reactions as they usually have nothing to say. Hype culture sets people up for failure honestly. The trailer for Acolyte was aight in my eyes but I need to wait to see when it releases.

I don't usually like trailer reactions because alot of the time they just restate what happened in the trailer, but you guys did a good job of injecting some lore knowledge into it and drawing some conclusions based on that

This was the show I was osr excited about when they first revealed all those titles a few years ago. Overall, I agree this trailer didn't quite strike me the way I'd hoped, but the assassin (Amandla Stenberg) looks amazing esthetically. Her whole vibe is really cool and unique.

I like trailer react videos because it gives me the opportunity to get that feeling of watching something for the first time again vicariously through someone else. Definitely not pointless.

Have you watched any of the Bad Batch? Season 3 is currently airing (I only realized that yesterday) and for me it keeps being onse of the best Disney era Star Wars Series. It's no Andor, let's not go crazy now. I'd argue it's not S1 Mando either. But it sure is better than every other series. It knows what it wants to do, it focuses on that and it does it well.

One of the best parts about the bad batch is the extremely positive and welcoming sub community it’s built within the fandom. It can be really refreshing to go back to that especially after seeing the bigotry that people have been spouting in response to the acolyte.

This was both excruciating and great at the same time. Love the humor, never change.

It could be a wonderfully written story, and my hope is that it is and that it pushes past anything visually off about it. I have to admit my growing weariness of the volume though, and this trailer did little to disabuse me of the notion that they're still relying waaaay too much on it.

According to an interview with the show runners they didn’t even use the Volume though. Not sure why they’d lie about it.

I think this is the first time ever a poster had me more excited than the trailer.

What was interesting wit this round of trailer reacts was I found the 5 or so I watched all were very different. Gen Tech, Explained, Eck, Theory, and Greedo.... all very diff approaches. I admit I do like hearing what people found interesting, and less so what people think the company 'conspiracy' is. Like any story can be cool, and easily they can be 'not for me'. But what I like about SW I like, and I enjoy when people talk about those things.

I must say I loved the trailer. It seemed a bit like the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon of Star Wars. I love the Squid Game guy as a male Asian Jedi Master, as a homage to samurai movies.

I'm looking forward to this cause it should all be brand new stuff, won't watch the trailer though, just gonna wait for it to come out and not get my hopes too high.

I'm excited for the show, and the trailer looks really good, but yeah, it didn't grip me as much as I thought it would. I can't quite put my finger on why though... That said, I think I just don't like trailers as much anymore. I already know I'm gonna watch it and I'm 99% sure I'll find something to enjoy no matter how good or bad the series is. At this point for me, trailers are just spoiler filled highlight reels meant to bring in the people that don't already know about the show or are on the fence about watching it. This was a good one because it kept most things pretty vague, but that red lightsaber reveal would have been incredible if I didn't know it was going to happen. I mean, I was pretty sure we'd see one in the show, but now its confirmed. But hey, if stuff like that gets more people to watch the show, then that's great, I guess... It definitely was the most exciting part of the trailer for me. I dunno, I think I'm still salty about Thor Ragnarok's marketing ruining what could have been an incredible moment... I've had a dislike for trailers ever since then. I'll still watch them and have fun getting hyped for a series, but there's always that little nagging voice in my head telling me to stop watching trailers haha

No its actually not hard to be excited about Star Wars. This is a Christopher problem. Christopher should do some introspection on his life and maybe hes not fully fulfilled. I for one am beyond stoked to see Pre Episode 1 in live action.

Give them a break. Your early stuff probably wasn’t that great either, but you learned from it and the encouragement you got from others helped you along the way. Maybe some of these reaction videos are coming from people who were inspired by you to start their own channel.

a trailer either excites me for a film or show or it doesn't. i don't even understand why people feel the need to breakdown/speculate on specifics based on a trailer. trailers aren't always indicative of the final product (good or bad). it seems many reviewers are looking for ways to justify their hate. all i care about is will i be entertained while i watch something?

Not surprised.

It has that super slick and sylized Disney SW show look that I don't like. Too many shots they probably just filmed because "it looks cool". Then there are quotes and references that are done to death at this point. And the bad child performances give me bad prequel trilogy vibes. I don't know... I hoped "The Acolyte" would be darker, and more grounded and gritty. Well, it looks like they were aiming for "dark, but for pre-teens".

As someone who's been optimistic about most star wars shows, this trailer really didn't do much for me. I was expecting a visually distinctive and dark immersion into the Sith, but this looked like the rest of the Disney+ shows. It shared the same flat lighting as the others (aside from Andor). I hope there's not an overreliance on child actors--it just doesn't seem fitting for the story or tone. My first impressions are that it'll be on par with Ahsoka and probably better than Obi-Wan. What I've mainly been seeing people talk about is the yellow lightsabers and some obscure character that I (and probably 99% of viewers) don't know. So it's fair to say that I'll be keeping my expectations low for this one, which hopefully will end up being surpassed.

Renegades Media Group does a great job reacting to things. They spend more time analyzing the material, and pause every now and then to articulate what they're trying to say. They're also pretty straight forward, and talk about their personal stories in relation to said material.

I hope Blind Wave/Wave Squadron does a reaction. They don't always do trailer reactions but when they do, you actually get an interesting discussion.

I really don't like the High Republic era so I'm not watching the trailer and don't really want to watch the show. But thats perfectly alright; it's not for me, it's for fans of the High Republic.

I’m a huge fan of anything Jedi, so I’m all in on this one.

As someone who 100% went into the trailer blind, I think the show looks promising.

I never understood those fake reaction videos. And nope, not hyped after watching the trailer either.

I think if you're setting a show in the before times, bringing more of a wuxia vibe is going to be quite interesting. But I can't take Theory seriously at this point - he's down that incel rabbit hole & ain't coming out. I'll definitely give it a chance but Andor has essentially change my taste for what I'd like to see from Star Wars.

Don't think about it, just consume product. Canon is stifling creativity. Kate Moss is in it!

Honestly, I really don't care about trailer reactions. I just want the trailer, release date and I'll watch it or not watch it. Anything else is fluff.

I didn’t hate the trailer but i wasn't beaming with excitement. Alot of female characters, like Carrie Moss, heard its taking place 100 years before Phantom Menace which sounds refreshing. So in short MEH!

A very few number of channels that do reactions feel more like Live Commentary channel, where they give actual in depth opinion and review commentary along with watching it live and reacting to stuff. Pausing at moments to give a proper argument and análisis of what was watched. So that's the appeal of those Most popular reaction channels are just people going "Wow,", "Jajajaj" "Totally " those I think are useless content farming channels

Reactions are shit in general

I don't mind reactions from personalities I actually like and follow (Reel Rejects) or from people that are actually knowledgeable on the subject and have insights that will get me more hyped (Star Wars Explained, EckhartsLadder). But there are soo many grifters out there forcing reactions because it's easy clicks.

All reaction videos suck. Why would I care what someone else thinks of a trailer?

What do you think went wrong with Star Wars? As a 47 year old (life long) fan with a 15 year old son, we were MASSIVE fans. Episode 7 seemed to be a peak, with another small bump for Mandalorian. Now both of us could not be bothered to even watch trailers nevermind the actual series or possible movies.

This show is set hundreds of years in the past, and yet everything looks and feels just the same as in any other Star Wars thing. Jedi, lightsabers, brown robes. We've seen it all a hundred times before. I'm just bored by Star Wars at this point. I hope this show will find a fanbase.

Star Wars Theory is not great in my opinion. The only videos he really makes now are bait videos about made-up controversies to generate clicks and views, talking about stuff that is “happening” at Lucasfilm like Kathleen Kennedy getting fired for the hundredth time and Dave Filoni taking over. He’s also lied about Lucasfilm staff saying or doing bad things, ultimately leading his fan base to send countless death threats towards them. He used an AI deepfake of Mark Hamill and when Hamill spoke about it, he made a video not apologising, but turning to self pity about how Mark Hamill “hates” him. (The video he was released was called Mark Hamill Hates Me Now). Hamill expressed no ill feelings towards the situation. He’s become extremely negative recently, calling everything Disney does is bad. When The Bad Batch (which is really good right now) includes something that was in the sequels in the episode, Theory got annoyed and said “Damn they’re tying it in to the sequels”. He also claimed to “love” The Rise of Skywalker until haters caught on and he immediately switched up. He’s also become very misogynistic. He recently made a video featuring a woman who was saying that Star Wars doesn’t need strong female characters because women don’t care about Star Wars. Strong female characters in the franchise have been around since it’s inception, and I know for a fact that many women are fans of Star Wars. This lead to the official Star Wars social medias posting that “Star Wars is for everyone.” If you want to watch better, more positive, Star Wars channels I recommend Star Wars Explained and Blind Wave/Star Wars: Wave Squadron. The people involved in these channels are true Star Wars fans and I would be proud to have them as the face of the fan base.
