Warrick started my horse, Barristo, nearly a decade ago. To this day, that horse self loads into the trailer. Usually in less than eight seconds. It's definitely been the envy of a lot of people at crazy horse shows.

@@dr.christopherjohnson5396 I board in Sunol. Using the techniques learned from Warrwick via Barristo, I will be pre-school teaching my 2 year old this May/June.
This is so heartwarming to see horses that have an owner that properly leads them the way horses need a leader to do. Just seeing them follow you without a halter was a testament to that. Thank you kind sir.

The one thing most equestrians miss out on and need, is the experience to be around horses that are handled in this manner. Being around curious and balanced horses is usually THAT much different compared to horses that are just used and (mostly)ignored.

It gives me a happy feeling, to see how they're reacting to you. You take two steps back, and all three of them go like: "he dad! we wanna hang with you"! Awesome. Greetings from Norway.

You do such an amazing job making them feel secure and peaceful. They are confident, happy and delightful horses. You have taught me so much over the years in handling my horses and a huge “thank you” for that💜

What happens when they're in the trailer and you drive it? How do they react?

Ok My loads in great but she doesn’t feel safe to stay in and let me close the divider. I have not found one video that works on that or offers suggestions. I’m experimenting with having her wait for longer and longer times and having me move the divider but it’s a very slow process. Yes I’m working on trust and connection I just wish I could see someone offer suggestions for horses that get into the spot and then back up as soon as you start to back away. I could force her up into the spot and close the divider but then she is anxious and nervous and as soon as you open up dividers she is backing out faster than you can sometimes get out away. Do you know a video that someone works with that type of horse or situation? If so can you please leave it in the comments. Right now I know it’s gonna be a long process and I told her that it will take as long as it takes for her to feel safe in the trailer

Schedule a consultation with someone like Warwick and pay for a one-on-one to resolve the issue.

Maybe you should spend more training on unloading. Most horses walk in pretty quick and our focus is on loading the horse but not unloading it. So, let her put just one foot on the ramp and then back her out. Again one foot in, back out. 2 steps in, back out etc. In really small steps. You should be able to interrupt the loading at any time no matter where she stands on the ramp. That way you might be able to change her expectation of quick loading and backing straight out.

First Id have to ask how all of your groundwork is? Especially about sopacial awareness, ie, is your horse clingy. Your horse needs to be able to stay away from you, ie, drop the rope on the ground and walk away
