There's a time and a place for blunt language; however, in this context, it's inappropriate and just plain mean. Kevin's "blunt comments" is thinly veiled aggression. Sorry, folks, but Kevin is an ill-mannered prick and there's nothing funny about his "blunt" remarks. I would never speak to a guest the way he did with Sonny. Part of being an adult means recognizing that we don't needlessly, or otherwise, verbalize our "blunt" thoughts, especially to our guests. Stop saying that many our dishes has many influence from Middle East and India, in fact many of those spices are native to us, Indonesia. They don't even grow in Middle East and later on brought to India to be cultivated. So it's another way around.

Whew, that guy did not go easy on ya! I love the brutal honesty! It's kinda refreshing to see someone not try and be completely "camera" friendly and for to be themselves because a lot times in videos like this some of the hosts can be too friendly and it can come off kinda fake with no personality. Plus, Sonny took in stride and the two played off each other really well! Awesome video!
I have had the great fortune to experience amazing traditional Indonesian cooking through my father who was born and raised there as a young adult. There was never a day our kitchen went without freshly prepared sambal and properly prepared rice. We have lived in the US since the 1970s. Beef and pork was rarely a part of our regular meal agenda. Rather, fish and chicken were the most affordable and conducive to the Indonesian dishes we were accustomed to when we migrated to the US. It is my dream to visit all of Indonesia - and experience the various regions and cuisines it has to offer. Thanks Sonny - and keep on inspiring us to explore the world through cuisine. Kiss, kiss, hug, hug....and all that mushy stuff.

I do not think that Kevin even realizes that his comments are rude. I could tell that he does not think before saying anything. He just spews it out. But, for us as audiences, it is actually very funny to watch an adult talk like a little kid.

I’m so sad I’m just finding out about this channel! Though I’m late the positive side is that I can binge on all your episodes. Also, I love comparing your older videos to these newer ones because you can see the growth from your reaction to eating your first bug or snake to your now more experienced reactions. Great job! Yogyakarta is good too. They have Gudeg, Lupis(rice cake with black sticky rice and melted brown sugar), Geplak, Bakpia(this is the legendary food)
