@kenny187ful I've studied the history briefly. The orthodox faith branched off the catholic faith because they didn't agree with the pope of the time. There's nothing stopping the orthodox peoples to reunite with us. I was raised hmgreek orthodox so I know something about it.

@@StalloneSiciliano There was no such thing as "Catholic" or "Orthodox" before the Great Schism, there was only the Church. The four other Patriachates condemned Rome for inventing new dogmas, mainly the Filioque, among other things, without consulting the other Patriarchs, only adding to the stresses brought on by the Pope trying to assert that he was the singular head of the Church, instead of the tradition already held by the Church that he was honored as first among equals.

I’m a Turkish Catholic living in Turkey. You guys affected my life a lot.

I remember 40 years ago, when my uncle had his priestly vocation celebration, there was over 15 priests celebrating the first Mass with him. When I was visiting him afterwards at their monastery, I've seen only young guys. I grew up in Poland, I should add.

Vocations to the priesthood and reLigious life have taken a bearing in the UK since Vatican two. So many seminaries closed and so many convents and monasteries either sold off or barely hanging on with small numbers of elderly members in their communities.

Church should get smart and start allowing married men to become priests. It’s ridiculous that even deacons may not marry after becoming deacons.

@@jamesaraujo6296 The increasing shortage of and aging of priests may be the catalyst that makes the authorities in Rome rethink about the ban on married priests. In some places lay brothers in religious orders and congregations have been trained up to become priests to take over ministering in parishes.

These are truly warriors for Christ and Our Lady. Heavenly. ❤

Have you ever read the Gospel in your life? Try reading John 2:13-16, to see an aspect of Jesus you seem to ignore. Jesus was loving, kind and combative at the same time. These Heralds serve the poor and the weak. The console the afflicted, but at the same time they fight the devil and his henchmen. That is why they look like soldiers.

If they have an abbot I bet when he celebrates pontifically it is a wonder to behold like at Clearcreek Abbey in America. They have a great sense of the dignity of the sacred liturgy and how it should be offered to God.

They have no Abbott because it's not a religious order or even a society of apostolic life. It is a public association of the faithful: a lay organization. They do not profess any vows. Read their very brief "About" in their website.
