  • @MitchShoesmith

    @MitchShoesmith

    10 күн бұрын

    Hey - with Trading 212 there are two ways to generate interest on cash. 1 is through your stocks ISA, where you can get the 5.2% interest on uninvested funds, however these funds aren't protected by the FSQS due to Trading 212 having the option to put the money into something called a Qualifying Money Market Fund. However with the cash ISA, which is separate to your stocks ISA, you can earn 5.2% on the cash which is protected by the FSQS as Trading 212 hold it in cash (well bank deposits), and you can then withdraw it, or transfer it to your Stocks ISA at any time.

    Hi Ben, naturally you’ll have most, if not all major stocks covered across those two ETFs, but if you wanted to go in on few companies and have 100% exposure to them, rather than the weighted allowance in an index, it kind of comes down to what your risk appetite is. I’m weighted about 40% individual stocks, 60% ETFs in my portfolio currently (and admittedly it’s done well for me!) although I’m actively looking to increase my ETF exposure so it’s a bigger portion of my overall holdings, probably ideally aiming for 80/20, but that’s just a personal view based on my risk appetite. If 10% is what you’re comfortable with then go with that if you’ve got appetite to invest in individual stocks.

    Hey, it’s such a good question and a dilemma too! There’s lot of different schools of thought on it, probably worth making a whole video about as it’s currently something me and my partner have been chatting about recently… my non researched, gut feel answer is, do what feels most financially comfortable, if that’s getting your mortgage down to a monthly repayment you’re more relaxed about, do that (this is kind of where my heads at), and if you can continue adding to your ISA, even if it’s slightly less than before then great. What’s your gut feel? Interested to get your thoughts too!

    @@micas290too much overlap, the all world is approx 60% US, which is duplicating the stocks in the S&P500.

    Hi Mitch, on your Vanguard portfolio overview screenshot, I see VUSA, but when you discussed depositing more in March 2020, there was a screenshot of VUAG. Did you invest in both for this ISA, or was the VUAG screenshot an error?

    High Mitch I’m starting with a very modest £100 a month, what would be The best way for me to invest? Bitcoin?

    Hey, I can’t say what to invest in, but personally I wouldn’t choose bitcoin as a starting point based on my own risk appetite. For me I like to invest in low cost index funds (predominantly) which track the US stock market, its historically performed very well, 9-10% per year as an average, and allows me to invest in productive assets (companies) that are the biggest wealth creators on the planet. I do hold a little bit of bitcoin, but it’s very much a speculative investment.

    I think Cathie Woods bear case stock price for 2030 could be accurate. We're at the start of the fourth industrial revolution, we are still very very early. Tesla has Robo Taxis coming soon, and Androids not too far off too. Elon said he expects around 1 billion Android units operating by 2035. Let the magnitude of that sink in. Can see a MC of Tesla of over 10 trillion by 2035 imho. I'm going to be investing heavily

    50k in 7 years 😳 something is missing Bro . I think your portfolio isn't diverse enough and don't have the following, 1.High Dividend yield 2.Lower Dividend payout ratio 3.Consistent Dividend growth rate 4.Stability and performance 5.Solid share prize appreciation So you need to look back at your portfolio and change things. I've been investing 10yrs now and I've 120k portfolio 🤷‍♂️
