Tracy Lawrence - TL's Road House - Ian Munsick (Episode 35)

Музыка

Listen in this week as Tracy welcomes special guest Ian Munsick to the Man Cave. The Country artists dive in deep this week to discuss what keeps them grounded and inspired as they navigate their busy lives on and off the road, how music is an area they continue to grow regardless of genre or career stage and how changing their mindset has helped them grow as artists. Ian reflects on his roots in Wyoming and how he stays connected to his hometown in the ever-changing Nashville Country landscape, and even gives listeners the inside secret to keeping his long hair healthy!

Great interview. Big Munsick fan here. He's got some great country music out there. Never knew he had a speech impediment because, like Mel Tillis, it doesn't come out in his vocals. Make me appreciate his music even more.

Another great podcast Tracy! You share a lot of knowledge and wisdom. I learn something new every time. You ask great questions to your guests. This is a very good fit for you. You are great at this. I love Time Marches On. It's my favorite. I think people appreciate nostalgia. I'm glad to see the younger musicians appreciating you and others that profoundly changed country music. I look forward to your next guest. Have a great rest of your week!😊

Tracy's talking about layers of greatness in a song when it hits you a little different each time you listen to it.

1st "White Buffalo" is 1 of my got to it everyday songs. Plus you are my Willie Giest interviewer equal and that's as good as it gets. Y'all make your guest feel at ease and you add the right amount of information to keep it flowing and so very interesting. Thank you and Ian for bringing up so many songwriters although you always sing their praises. I watch all music channels and CMT is the only "1" that tells who wrote the songs. I don't know half of the names but I love when I see the singer is a songwriter and I've familiarized with the names I see over again. Graduated in 1977 so I'm a product of so much fun and wonderful music in that period but the singer songwriters have a special place in my heart. John Prine, Jim Croche Dan Fogleberg, Paul Davis, Gordan Lightfoot, Mac Davis, and this list could keep going but something about being able to "paint an image with words" (as you just said) amazes me. Even now that most song writers collaborate it's amazing to me. And who can forget Roger Miller? I will never end this if I keep thinking. Just want you to know I appreciate the way you speak of songwriters and your podcast is the only one I've found interesting enough to hold my attention so it's up to you to keep doing what you are doing to entertain us. Thank you. Oh, I almost saw you at the Jackson, Mississippi Fair that year.... Was so worried about you when I got there and found out why you cancelled. Very happy you are still here and "Sticks and Stones" is still my favorite song by you. "Time March's On" may be classic but "Sticks and Stones" makes me cry!!! Now that's country or I'll... Never mind.

Tracy representing my hometown Augusta, GA with that Masters hat, nice! The number one reason that TLs Roadhouse is really good, is Tracy’s interviewing and his ability to pull answers out of his guests and to pivot when the interview needs to go in another direction. He’s just got a natural ability to talk and ask the right questions. Love it.

Tracy you are bringing back memories for me. I never went Frog gigging but my daddy and my uncle who was my Mama's twin used to go frog gigging. They always took a pistol with them for the snakes. And they used to go fish flounder on the NC coast on the intercoast waterway.

Think I was at the show he was talking about. Bulls Bands & Barrels. August 12, 2023. Hattiesburg Mississippi. He’s got a good setup though. He and All his band members have fans blowing on them.
