Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This 2008 Ford Crown Victoria is a heavily modified example featuring a host of chassis and handling upgrades by Maximum Motorsports, Energy Suspension, and Tokico. The crown vic... The car you can hear from 10 blocks away. The car that can be seen 5 miles away. The car that every non car person thought was fast. The car that has the most unique and satisfying door slam noise. I love the crown vic and will miss it.

Don't forget about the first gear transmission whine under light acceleration, unmistakable. I have an 06 P71 hot rod in the making and love the sound of that transmission, reminds me of the sounds of the cars in the 70's when I was a kid.

The panther platform was the pinnicle of automotive body on frame design engineering. Its a shame they ceased production, and most of the remaining ones are being driven into the ground, or destroyed. This guys CV is exactly what Ive been preaching for years. A few simple mods, and youve got yourself a hell of a hot rod/daily driver thats dead nuts reliable, fast, safe, and practical. Its the best car ever produced!!!!

Well over 500k miles on factory engine. Great vehicle I regret selling it. Edit 14 mpg city but 22-24mpg on back roads

Panther platform! I know they're everywhere and not all that fast, but god I love those old boats. I used to have a Grand Marquis that was the definition of a shitpile, and driving around a car that weighed 5000 pounds or so with me in it on shot suspension (including the SLS, which had a habit of raising the ass end of the car two inches around long left turns) with bad breaks taught me a *lot* about how weight transfer and grip play together.

Components added were 17"x8" Cop steel wheels w/Michelins, Bilsteins, Hawk pads, uprated sway bars/bushings F&R and last but not least a killer stereo to round things out. .. I also made rear control arms and Watts link arms with Heim joint ends for the rear, made a HUGE difference in the handling. He is going to really have fun with some more power. Typically patrol cars have vinyl rear seats, so they're easy to clean. Also the entire backseat wieghs less than one of the front seats. The front of the car is what really needs lightened up with a 52/43 bias. SOMEBODY need make a cf hood.

  • @RidinDirtyRollinBurnouts

It shouldn't come as a surprise that a Crown Vic in good condition can make a great track car. Its handling is very similar to a mustang, and is not all that heavy for a four door, just around 4000, and wouldn't be hard to shed some weight either. It's one of the last cars with a leather couch for a seat and a big steering wheel which make it feel like a boat. With good racing seats and wheel, combined with good tires I would not be surprised someone made a fun car out of one.

My 93 is similar in that it's a momentum beast. It could use the rear axle suspension upgrades though. Hawk HPS pads on mine and give it good stopping power. I did leave in the interior though, because LX. I only have 3.55 rear gears though so I'm not revving as high on the highway and I can run Texas highway traffic (80+) all day with no issues. Mine does have the newer engine swapped in from an 03 Towny too with Magnaflow from the manifolds back. It sounds nice and has great seat dyno. The e-fan mod also helped the seat dyno. Mine dyno'd at 230hp as well with 274ft-lbs.

jh77sly 230rwhp haha. I know that the torque isn't bad, but my n/a V6 dynoed at 291whp... So glad ford is finally competitive with their engines. I had a 99 4.6 GT, too. That thing had no top end, especially compared to my G35 or G37..

I know... I wish I could swap a coyote into mine... but those aren't quite as easy to find in yards yet... and even when you do, they don't wanna sell them for the same price as a SBF or SBC. For now though... it's nice enough and will tow 5000 pounds (with weight distributing hitch) without issue if I need it to. Yeah... I added some of the cooling mods to mine. F150 dual core radiator, large plate trans cooler, e-fan. It does not overheat even pulling 2500# at 75+mph. Doesn't even break a sweat. Trans temp stays at about 125 and coolant temp is the same as when I'm not towing anything.

If you add the cvpi/maurader airbox, and cvpi tb, with a tune, you should see a bump up to 250chp.

I have an AFE stage 1 intake already... but the stock 2003 Lincoln Town Car TB. I wouldn't get the CVPI TB, I'd get the ADTR one. I would also need a larger zip tube. I do have a tune for the setup as it was with a mechanical fan. I do need to get it retuned though.

Best kept secret for a family car is 2003 and newer Panther platform cars. Safe, durable, ez maintenance.. basically a lifetime car in non-rust belt areas. Even if you drive 50,000 miles a year a new Panther would last over 10 years before engine overhaul. Transmission and front end somewhere around 250-300k in taxi applications from my fleet experience. Literally best sedan ever built, ever.
