  • @BeforeYouBuyGuy

    @BeforeYouBuyGuy

    Its good the AC1900 I am still using it. If you are going to be connecting via 5ghz wifi then its worth getting, but the AC1300 or even a cheaper dongle would be fine if you only plan to connect using 2.4ghz. If you are not using 5gzh its not really worth it, because you would be limited by your wifi rather than the adaptor. Thanks for watching

    Hi thanks for the honest review! I was wondering if you still use this or continued to use it a while after this review? The internal network adapter in my HP laptop stopped working and so I got one of TP's small usb adapters. It doesn't function very well for basic gaming or on zoom calls so I was wondering if you or anyone has had trouble with this with the adapter in this video. Zoom call meetings have been a nightmare as they either freeze or my wifi connections cuts out completely.

  • @BeforeYouBuyGuy

    Hi Emily, yep I'm still using this adapter and I have had no real issues with it. The small adaptors are nowhere near as good. But you do also need strong wifi signal as well. I use this for zoom all the time and no issues but I have got a mesh wifi system which helps with the signal. Good luck, let me know how you go

    How would this compare to the built in wifi 6 cards in laptops like like the "killer 1650i" or "Intel AX210"?

  • @BeforeYouBuyGuy

    @BeforeYouBuyGuy

    Жыл бұрын

    I have not tested these internal cards, but I would think generally that an external wireless adaptor would be better, if only due to the fact that it is external and can be better positioned for receiving signal. Inside a laptop may not be the most optimal location for signal. Having said that if you have a fast and reliable connection for most applications, any (real or perceived) performance gain may not have a real practical value

    what shoul be the maximum speed connected to a usb 2.0 port?

  • @BeforeYouBuyGuy

    @BeforeYouBuyGuy

    3 жыл бұрын

    USB 2.0 can transfer data up-to 480 megabits per second. USB 3.0 can transfer data up-to 5gbps. USB 3.0 is able to move data 10X faster than USB 2.0 giving it a huge advantage. The real world speed difference that you can expect can vary a lot depending on your hardware in the computer, the router and wifi type and signal strength so cant really give an exact number. BUT can confirm, you should expect significant speed improvement (at least in theory) from USB 3. My Internet provider only sells max speed of 100 mbps and both USB 2 and USB 3 would have no problems achieving this speed. Also 2.4 ghz wifi seems to cap out at about 35 mbps so make sure you are using 5ghz if you want the best speed. Apologies for the long response :)
