    OME EL 122RAB with D43XL AAL sitting on Bilstein 5100 559/560. Quite a bit of lift, 40.75, with a topper and 280 lbs of sand(lot of snow in Colorado). Hit the PB blaster put hard on the lead up but I had purchased an extra front shackle bolt just in case! I had to bend my ebrake cable guides up to clear the leafs(2001) but it worked and no drag so far. OME Fk21 extended exhaust hanger doesn't provide much more clearance than stock so the pipe is hung a tad but I guess I will get some type of bracket to drop it a little further. Again appreciate the video!

    @@azorianification It is gorgeous down here! We are spoiled rotten haha! As far the coil goes, yeah, 881 for regular duty and 2-1/2" lift. 882 for regular duty and 3" lift. 883 for heavy duty and 2-1/2" lift before you add any weight! I wanted the softest ride and max lift. So 882 I thought would settle into around a 2-1/4 lift by the time I do a hidden winch mount. Just a better angle for the cv's. If my 33's start to rub after I add a winch I will just do a 3/4" to 1" body lift and call it good.

    I've got a full OME heavy setup on my 2004 double cab. Your gonna love your new ride and the more weight you throw in your truck, the better it rides! Be sure to re-torque after a week and again at a month. Whenever I do my 3 month service on my truck I just check everything one more time 😉. Food for thought, Every once in a while, check your tranny mount bolt to make sure it's tight on the cross member. I was having a little issue with it and found it had worked its way loose to hand tight! I think that's why alot of people end up tearing that bushing mount. Just tighten it up, and stay up on your maintanece...its a Toyota! It will run forever! Haha.

I did buy the exhaust extension bracket, but it hadn't arrived by the time I did the install (just had to fidget with the tail pipe a bit). So what does that really do? I would. My only suggestion would be to purchase greaseable bolts for the front, and greaseable shackles for the rear. The bushings get really noisy sometimes. I’m going to swap these out but it would have been much easier to do when I installed the leaf pack. Otherwise I love this setup.

  • @SCWW

    @SCWW

    3 жыл бұрын

    It doesn't change the payload weight for the truck. As i've read in several places, the payload is set by the factory and cannot be changed. However, what a leaf spring upgrade does do is allows you to load your pickup with 400 lbs of camping gear or whatever without any sag, like the stock springs pictures in the beginning of this video. I did the OME full leaf pack upgrade to my '98 Taco thinking it would increase my payload, instead it lifted my rear significantly, and created a condition where i have no sag in any load situation and quite a bit of rake when empty. Also, as @Yo Boo said above, the more weight it's carrying the better it rides, but only after changing out my shocks as well.

Interesting note though, I didn’t do anything with the brake lines except bent the cable guide slightly so that it wasn’t rubbing on the springs. That being said, I didn’t actually drop the axle all the way off like it looks like you did. I did the spring swap while the bed of the truck was off, so I’m not sure if that made a difference as far as the brake lines were concerned, though it sure made a huge difference with accessibility.
